I wasn't sure how to take all the psychological background build up at first. I liked it. But I was worried it was maybe trying too hard. But then, unlike the slightly overrated Haunting of Hill House, it used all that build up for a great, bloody and scary horror movie, including a riveting conclusion. A worthy successor and definitely the best Halloween, by far, after the first, which is a cinema classic.
