Just came back from the viewing of Valerian and the city of a thousand Planets. and honestly speaking it was a disappointment, do not get me wrong it was beautifully shot, but the editing and the amount of exposition used through boring dialogue for no reason, the constant change in the character traits, decisions and illogical reasoning behind the story make this a disappointing film.
The acting was overrated, in most of the scenes the main actors looked bored and had no chemistry between them. Clive Owen looked he wasn't even acting but was just reading the script. Valerian was one of the most unlikable characters in a major Hollywood film for a while. He was suppose to be the carefree hot shot like Hal Jordan, or even Jay or even Captain Steven Heller.. A over the top cocky but extremely talented soldier, officer, pilot etc... but Major Valerian just comes of as stupid and annoying guy.
Someone should have been there to let Luc know that there is lots of problems with this film. To much unnecessary dialogue ad exposition.
