Warning: Spoilers
JACKPOT is a straight-up British crime drama made on a tiny budget with a handful of actors and in just a couple of locations. The story is about a couple of safebreakers whose latest job leaves a policeman dead. They subsequently find themselves pursued by both the dogged police and the owner of the business they ripped off. The film is familiar to fans of the genre and in truth it doesn't offer up anything we haven't seen before, but at least a few familiar faces get paid for showing up. These include William Hartnell as the detective, Eddie Byrne as a ruthless businessman, and best of the lot, a typically sympathetic Michael Ripper in a role separate from his parts in Hammer Horror fare.
