Warning: Spoilers
This is basically the story of bitter, self righteous native Americans on the reservation who summon a well meaning white writer to the Res so they can vent their anger against white people on him. One of them greets him thusly: "Hey Nerburn, get your ass over here." He understandably wants to leave, but a "wise old man" and his accomplice disable his vehicle so they can take him on a journey during which they inform him (and us) of the injustices inflicted on them personally and their people historically by the "white man." They don't tell us anything we aren't already aware of and it is sad, but their bitterness gets old very quickly. I feel bad for them, but I think the best thing for them would be to stop whining, and get over it. A well meaning film, but so much bitterness and self righteous, self defeating negativity wears thin
