"Start Plummin!"
27 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I remember working for my Father in his boiler business. My job for the day was to set up and drill a hole through concrete and wood with the use of a coring machine. Took the measurements and marked the spot . Made sure the drill was plumb and added water to protect the diamond blades from dulling. The drilling went slowly at first but about twenty minutes later I broke through to the sounds of a crash. The concrete tubular remains hit the bathroom sink below causing a flood. Luckily we shut of the building's water and repaired the broken pipes by capping them off. One of many mishaps in my blue collar career. Spent the next hour moping up the water. My Father never was big on slapstick or comedies but this Three Stooges Shorts was one of his favorites. Avoiding the authorities our Three Slackers steal a plumbing truck and end up at swanky residence. A relieved Butler welcomes them into the home as a plumbing repair is needed to fix a leak in the basement. Moe, Larry and Curly zip into action. Each Stooge does a destructive task in wrecking this house. Moe switches all the utilities. Curly builds a cage of pipes in a bathtub and Larry the hardest worker of the bunch digs till doomsday. Hilarious scenes with the chef as he tries to prepare a meal for the guests but the sink faucet shoots out flames . The stove burners spews water. Raincoat and umbrella optional for this kitchen. Historical note between the laughs, This episode shows the new newfangled invention Television for the first time. Seven years before Television became mainstream but even the Three Stooges pushed the idea back for a long time as they brought Niagara Falls right into their home. My second favorite Stooges episode.
