If you would have given me a choice as to what CW spin off I would want a year ago around this time, I don't think the Legends of Tomorrow we have now would have been it, but I was however excited to see the series based on the fact that Caity Lotz was being brought somehow after being killed off earlier that year in Arrow. But there's more to be excited about because this series is the first superhero team up on television. Yes, it may not have the most logical group of heroes/villains, Heatwave? Really? But I think the fact that the entire team is vastly different from each other may turn out to be for the best.

We begin with seeing Rip Hunter, a future "time master", who is tasked or rather tasks himself with bringing together a rag tag group of characters in order to take down the villainous Vandal Savage. Now, we don't get much at all of Savage in this episode, we do find out that he killed Hunter's son and wife, leading Hunter into the motivation to put this team together. Now, if you have been watching Arrow and The Flash you know that Savage 'died' in the crossover and his remains were picked up by none other than Malcom Merlyn. They push those logic issues aside and sadly don't include Merlyn in the episode at all, probably just due to scheduling issues. It would have been nice to see Merlyn make some sort of appearance but perhaps down the line.

The introductions to the characters were needed for new viewers but were kind of a bore for those who already know all about them. But seeing Stephen Amell was nice, even if it doesn't entirely make sense when this show falls under the current Arrow timeline, considering the team would be going through some hardships right about now and would not have time for a break. Also, wouldn't Ray have asked about Felicity?

The one big positive I have about the episode is knowing that everyone is so vastly different to the next character and I think the 16 episode arc will prove to give everyone their own time to shine. I would have to assume we will get a few filler villains every now and then because 16 episodes of just hunting down Savage may get tiresome. I'm also a big score/music guy and hearing everyone's individual themes while they fight was definitely cool.

I'm sure there will be more questions answered in the coming weeks such as if White Canary's blood lust will return? Will we see future Oliver and Barry? Will we see more cameos like Cisco? (How much would he geek out knowing he's time traveling?) or maybe just why Heatwave is even in this show in the first place? I ended up not hating him as much as I thought but some of his lines were so dumb and unnecessary. Overall, I enjoyed this week's opening to hopefully the next big CW show. The highlight was definitely the bar-fight in an otherwise uneventful episode. I really liked that the idea of them all being legends is actually more wishful thinking than anything else. It definitely gives them something to strive for. At the very least, I think this show will be fun. Though it would be nice if it was as good as Flash or Arrow.

+Unique team dynamic

+Potential of time travel

+Bar fight

+Not really legends

-Some stupid Heatwave moments

-Confused as to when it takes place in the Arrow timeline
