Shadow Dancer (2012)
4/10
Movie with a plot similar to the Departed but is just way to slow moving to keep you focused. Great acting though. I say C+

"We do this together, but I need to hear you say it. You have to be sure." Collette (Riseborough) is a member of the IRA who has just been arrested trying to pull off a terrorist plot. When she starts to worry that her son is in danger she makes a deal with Mac (Owen) an agent of MI-5. She will get a new identity and safety for her son as long as she helps them out. When Mac finds out that his superior is using Collette to protect her mole in the IRA he is forced to find the mole and protect Collette. This is an example of a movie where the idea is great but the execution is lacking. The movie is good but really just a little too slow to be able to stay interested in. Some parts are tense and exciting but really the movie tended to drag a lot and I found it hard to stay focused on. The plot made me think of the Departed, but that is where the similarities stopped. Overall, the movie is OK and the acting is great but it was just too slow for me to fully stay interested in the whole time. I give it a C+.
