Saving Grace (2000)

Saving Grace is a predictable marijuana comedy. It fun to see Martin Clunes playing a young doctor in a seaside town in Wales long before anyone thought of doing Doc. Martin. It is fun to see Craig Ferguson young (2000) and remarkably sexy. The marijuana of this movie bears no resemblance to the marijuana of reality, but that doesn't matter. It is all just silly fun. Nobody is rude to anyone else. Nobody insults anyone else. The humour comes primarily from people acting out of what you imagine to be their character. Brenda Blethyn is a little bit like a younger Maggie Smith who speaks volumes with a few twitches of her face muscles. It has the expected implausible supernaturally happy ending. It leaves you with a happy feeling, no bad aftertaste.
