If you thought JCVD had bad movies before, this is his "Planet 9 from Outer Space"
24 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Think of Highlander II, Matrix 2 and 3, Son of the Mask, Superman IV and other sequels that should have never been made, not just because they were terrible movies in their own right, but because they committed cinematic blasphemy: completely ignoring characters and stories that the original good movie established.

Ed Wood would have been delighted with this exceptionally badly written, badly produced, badly directed, badly acted, badly edited movie with bad special effects. Even by the low standards set by unfortunately too many of JCVD's movies, it was a terrible action movie, and about the worst sci-fi you can imagine.

I've seen almost every JCVD movie, and he's never been lower than this, even in the UniSol movie where they ran around Chernobyl. My wife sighed as she noticed "JCVD" in the end fight scene was clearly a stunt double. But there isn't even much JCVD in this, or Dolph Lundgren either, only a confusing, drawn-out plot in which a newly engineered UniSol slowly discovers that his partial fake memories were faked so he can be tricked into pursuing and killing JCVD.

This "film" even had to use the terrible effect of rapidly shifting to a white frame and back, known to cause seizures in epileptics. But don't worry about the effect giving you nausea. When it happens a third of the way through, you'll already have nausea from the movie being so bad.
