Review of Primal

Primal (2010)
5/10
Story or Warning?

Warning: Spoilers
Finishing up the the low budget but strangely enjoyable horror flick "Primal" from last night, the first horror flick to cameo the killer bunny from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The movie begins 12,000 years ago during the Neolithic Revolution, where an ancient man is drawing on the outside of a cavern wall... but is it a story of family, or a warning?

The movie takes place in the beautiful woods of Australia. The cast does a decent job of being some of the most likable annoying characters in a low budget gory horror film. The effects are decent, the camera work... works. The movie has a way of keeping you interested, enough detail to keep you watching. The swarms of bugs, leeches, evil water and caves drinking blood to awaken ancient evil reminds me a little of Hellraiser's first installment.

Overall, not great, not bad, watch it when you want to chill.
