I ended up catching this movie back a few years ago late at night on one of the premium movie channels (Can't remember if it was Showtime or The Movie Channel). I had heard about the film and didn't really know what to expect considering that Ron Zombie was behind it but I decided to go ahead and give it a chance.
After viewing this, I can easily say that if there was ever such a thing as a dirty Nickelodeon cartoon, The Haunted World of El Superbeasto would be it.
This movie is NOT for children or the Faint of Heart. It's a Hard R adult animated film filled with violence, gore, sex, nudity, and profanity.
It's pretty much a love it or hate it film. If you grew up watching Nickelodeon, you will appreciate the style and animation of the film. I also enjoyed the many references to classic Horror films.
The film is very entertaining for it's runtime filled with raunchy humor and over-the-top moments. However, the main problem I had with the film is that the middle of the film has a point where it really felt like it dragged and I felt at times the movie did rely a bit too much on shock value instead of actual jokes.
The movie also as quite a few musical numbers in the film that I really enjoyed and were stuck in my head for a while after viewing the film.
This film won't be for everyone but if you enjoy Adult Animation and are a fan of Nickelodeon cartoons and classic Horror films, than you will probably enjoy this movie.
