The Dead Files (2011– )

After watching this first episode I got the feeling throughout that this was a farce. I can't bring myself to believe that Steve and Amy don't have the same info. This isn't proved in a rational way and all you're given is empty promises that she doesn't know anything before hand and that her and Steve don't compare notes. This show contains some very dramatized over-acted scenes that I couldn't take serious. The owner of the house for example seemed to be lying when questioned about why he chose to perform the "experiments" that he did or he was just improvising pretty terribly. When Amy was "taken over" several times I just didn't buy it. Combine these scenes with some of the other ghost show tropes such as; shaky cameras, unnecessary special effects for mundane things *footage of car driving past flickers and disappears), scary music, and weird/silly repetitive editing when Amy is talking in the house. I gave the show a chance, which is only fair, but I can't say that this convinced me any more than all the other ghost-type shows littering the airwaves at present.

Overall, people who want to believe will. People who question these shows from the start wont be given enough reason to believe any of this isn't BS.
