I was excited to see this since the first time I heard about it, last year. Film promos that aired last month did however failed to excite me too much but skipping it was not an option especially after reasonably good "Khuda ke Liye". So I went in to see it last night and by the end of it I was relived..... because it finally ended. A few things that went against the movie... First off, I am not against preachy and depressing movies but I believe its criminal for the movie to not be entertaining and this was a complete bore, I mean documentaries are more entertaining. They should have made a bit more effort to keep the going ons interesting for the audience. Secondly, Shoaib Mansoor tried to take up too many issues and thus failing to do justice to any of them... there's issue of intersex boy then about having girls born then about having too many children then about life of prostitutes and finally a vague love angle. Thirdly the movie is too bold and mature and people can get really uncomfortable watching it with family, it was a big turn off. Only three people get a chance to act really in the horde of characters namely Omaima, the father and Shafqat Cheema the rest of the cast was forgettable. people are going to watch it, no matter how much negativity, out of sheer curiosity but do keep an energy drink with you or you may fall asleep somewhere in the middle. P.S: For all of the Atif fans, you may better watch one of his music videos in which his character may have more depth and screen time than he has in this film and well, he was awkward in the few scenes that he was in anyway so better his role was short. Posters are ridiculously misleading though.
