Flash Point (2007)
7/10
Another Donnie Yen Action Gem From Asia
21 August 2010
Donnie Yen more and more is becoming a favourite of mine, maybe due to his thorough fighting styles on film but also his acting in general. The more movies I see him in, the more of a fan I become of his. Flashpoint is one of Yen's best films to date, it has an interesting and appealing storyline. The fighting styles that Yen does in the film, are amazing to watch as he executes some bone-crunching attacks. Plus there is some great gun-action and shootouts, that would make John Woo seem amateur at times. The film goes on and in a good way, as you hope it doesn't end and you hope for another final fight scene.

Donnie Yen even excels in his role, with some hard hitting scenes that invoke some emotions in his character. The supporting cast of Collin Chou and Louis Koo, really add to Yen's amazing performance as they all work together so well. What makes this film so good and another good title to add to the Asian cinema collection; Donnie Yen in general, plus his amazing action set scenes. Some great gunfights that make it one of the best Asian extreme films i've seen in a long time. Finally a great supporting cast, and a solid plot.

Flashpoint is not just for Donnie Yen fans, but majority of those who see it are such fans. However if you want a solid gang plot, and lots of action its perfect companion to Kill Zone, another Donnie Yen gem.
