Yahsi Bati (2009)
5/10
Wanted! Cem Yilmaz
1 January 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I am truly disappointed with this movie. OK maybe I was expecting too much but this movie is not even mediocre.

Arog had already some signs of a downturn in Cem Yılmaz's movie making career and this movie is a justification of this observation.

Personally, I couldn't understand what Cem Yılmaz tried to do in this movie. Maybe he tried to follow Şahan Gökbakar's Recep İvedik series which has quiet high box-office receipts though being very low level. There is no storyline and nearly all jokes(being very rare) are based on swearing. The only difference between this movie and Recep İvedik series is the budget but we clearly see that spending more money doesn't necessarily mean making a better movie. In fact, if you are OK with "swearing" comedies, Recep İvedik is much more successful than Yahşi Bati in entertaining the audience.

There are some extremely boring and unnecessary scenes in the movie. Scene transitions are very bad. It is like the movie wasn't edited at all.

This movie can't even be compared to "Gora" or "Her şey çok güzel olacak". Cem Yılmaz keeps spending his credit earned by these movies and his stand-up show.

I don't want to see Cem Yılmaz in "Bank Asya" league, he should be a "Turkcell" super league player. He is quiet an intelligent person and I am sure he can do much better films with his resources.

Next time, I will think twice before buying a ticket for a Cem Yilmaz movie.
