Tonight (Dec 5, 2006) was the first time I had ever seen Jeux Interdits. I was completely unprepared for what appeared to be the actual killing of a puppy in the filming of this movie.
After the initial strafing scene in which the parents were killed, the puppy that was used in this film is visibly in respiratory distress which would have to have been deliberately induced, probably by a veterinarian. Within a short time, we see the puppy taken from the child's arms and flung through the air like so much rubbish. It lands in a stream. If it wasn't dead before it was thrown, it surely died from the fall.
Is there some chance that I am mistaken? I would welcome comments on this.
