I first saw Riverdale and Coronation Street on the CBC Network Feeds on my C-Band Satellite dish on one of the Canadian Satellites. I enjoyed Riverdale much more than Coronation Street, but the CBC decided to cancel it. At the point where I was beginning to watch CBC's other programming, the network started broadcasting digitally and scrambled its signals using a method not used in the United States. I was therefore locked out. I miss Riverdale and wish some one would air a Riverdale-like soap opera about middle-class people living in a neighborhood going through life's trials and tribulations. If we in the United States can make Dallas and Dynasty famous, then certainly a middle-class soap would do well here if done with a measure of quality.
