Great Photography, Great Story
4 July 2006
Barbara Carrera at her absolute best! In her role as Queen Emma, we can see her grow from a beautiful young woman in to a regal old lady. The supporting cast also performed marvelously. The scenes at the waterfalls, in fact all of the filming (That was done in Fiji, on the island of Taveuni)is superb. Geoff Burton's camera work in particular needs to be praised, as it sometimes is very difficult to bring such an epic story to the screen, without letting the scenery play a bigger role that it should. Hal Holbrook excels as Jonas Coe. Great care was taken by Graham Purcell, to have to most accurate and authentic period costumes. Over all, the production designs by Neal Angwin, made for a very lovely and enjoyable Film, that unfortunately was never released in Theater in most countries. Jamie Douglas
