right wing undertones?
30 June 2005
first off, i did like this movie, so this isn't intended as a criticism.

did anybody else detect some right wing themes in this movie? -when he said to his girlfriend he thought the letter was a rejection notice, she said you're not the right sex or colour -the town with everyone (choosing to be) on drugs, the guy with the "will work for food sign" (who was really just lazy) etc, which seemed to suggest "you get what you deserve" "life is a level playing field", "youve got no one to blame for your problems but yourself", seemingly conservative right wing views -the dream girls exaggerated foul language (could be seen as a representation of rough, working class language) plus the hero is from a pretty privileged background maybe I'm just over-analysing. your thoughts?
