when i first accidentally came across this (ultra-cheesy) gem, i had no idea what to expect. as probably with 90% of people, i never knew it even actually existed. for one thing, i was puzzled how they could even make a sequel, considering how the first movie ended. then i started the movie and was surprised at the rather juvenile make-out scenes and the sheer goofy acting. on top of that, it looks low(-er) budget and the cast had all been replaced with lesser known actors! Then it clicked: it's a parody, and not only that, a direct to DVD prequel. (later i found out it was originally going to air on fox but was scrapped before actually airing, and it wasn't going to be actually called "Cruel Intentions 2") so with a really open mind i sat through the entire ordeal, i mean masterpiece. as the original pretty much throws the viewer in the middle of the scene without really telling much of the rich (/sarcasm) story behind each characters, this prequel brilliantly explores what "could have happened" via unbelievably cheesy acting and not at all convincing situations. too bad the sitcom never even got airplay on fox, but this movie pretty much sums up what it probably was going to be like.
