My Buddy Jack (2003 Video)
The wrong film to look at Nicholson for and not enough time to do him any justice at all
23 August 2004
The cast and crew of Anger Management come together to talk about their experience of working with the legend that is Jack Nicholson. They discuss his ability as an actor and his dedication to the job as well as the fact that all of the could do a Nicholson impression.

Now I'm not saying that there is not scope for a look at Jack Nicholson – in fact just the opposite, I could watch several hours worth of documentary about him and his career but what I don't think is worth bothering with is a 4 minute featurette where people off one of his lesser films all gush about how great he is! And sadly that is what we are given here; the cast and crew of Anger Management might be open to their opinions but they don't have a great deal of value here – they say nothing any different from what any of his fans would say – a shame since they have worked with him and know him!

Worse still is that Nicholson is not even called on for so much as a soundbite for the piece and the people commenting on him are really not the people that I would go to for meaningful comment. Add to this the fact that the running time doesn't even stretch to 5 minutes, one has to wonder why they even bothered to make it – were it not so meaningless one might even take this as an insult to Nicholson as the makers can't have thought much of him to give him so little time. See it if you have the Anger Management DVD but I can't imagine why you'd ever see it as a stand alone piece.
