Well this film starts well enough. Foxx is a rather wacky cab driver in LA who goes on a roller coaster ride after picking up hit man Tom Cruise. The idea is fun to start with and the acting is top banana. Tom Cruise is especially fine as the almost mechanical Vincent and Foxx's character is the perfect compliment.
The setting of LA is pretty boring to be honest. It means the film has the feel of a TV cop series.
The real problem though is that you can pretty much guess the entire plot after the first 30 minutes. There are no plot twists or surprises and everything has been done before. Has no-one in Hollywood got ANY imagination?
