Very good!

Warning: Spoilers
This film is a collaboration between Spain and Mexico. The story was set in an orphanage during the Spanish civil war. This story is a ghost story, it is very thrilling. It created a lot of suspense without using violence or blood.

(possible spoilers) The film says that the orphanage is haunted. There is a ghost that would often groan at night. The children were scared. One of the boys in the orphanage, Carlos, saw the ghost. It was a little boy with a wound on the left side of his forehead. The ghost was surrounded by water, and there were blood flowing out from his wound. The ghost said repeatedly to Carlos, "Many of you will die". Of course Carlos was very scared.

At that time, I thought the ghost wanted to harm the children, because of what the ghost said. However, it turned out that the ghost was trying to help the children by warning them about a staff in the orphanage. That staff set fire to many cases of kerosene, and the orphanage exploded. Many children and staff died. The rest were severely injured. Carlos had a second encounter with the ghost after that. The ghost was actually one of the boys living in the orphanage in the past, and he wanted revenge because the staff that set fire killed him. Therefore, Carlos and his friends used themselves as bait to attract the arsonist to the place where the ghost was killed. The ghost got his revenge.

I find this film very good. Firstly, the story ending was unexpected. I never imagined that the staff was the person who wanted to kill the children. Secondly, the visual effects were superb. The makeup of the actor playing the ghost part was very good. The water that surrounded him was magically created. I don't know how they did it! There were some bubbles and some gentle distortion of objects behind the "water". There was no real water, but the effect is that it makes you think that the ghost was surrounded by water. Thirdly, the blood that came out from the ghost was very real too. The blood flowed as if the blood was in water, drifting and dispersing slowly. Fourthly, the film showed the wounded people and dead bodies completely, without worrying that it would disturb the viewers. There were burnt bodies after the explosion, and other children were badly hurt. The injuries looked very real. The makeup was outstanding in this film. To sum up, I think this film is worth watching! It is quite unfortunate that the film is not more popular than it should be.
