Wesele (1973)
9/10
Magnificent picture by the greatest Polish director
5 July 2001
"Wesele" is a magnificent picture made by the greatest Polish director, Wajda who was given honorary Oscar in 2000. It is made with passion and great aritistic vision like a colourful painting. The screenplay is based on the drama written by Stanis³aw Wyspiañski, one of the greatest Polish writers, who lived in Cracow at the end of 19th century and who participated in wedding which he described in his play. The film is excelent, thanks to the cinematography by Witold Sobociñski, music by Stanis³aw Radwan, and great actors like Daniel Olbrychski (Bridegroom), Franciszek Pieczka (Czepiec) and others.
