5 Characters We Could See In Prime Video's Spider-Man Noir - Main Image
MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video recently announced a new live-action adaptation of Spider-Man Noir. In addition to Nicolas Cage's portrayal of the alternate version of Spider-Man, several other characters could appear in the Noir series.
Set in 1930s New York City, fans are about to see a different Spider-Man in Noir. Compared to the usual bright red-and-blue Spider suit, Spider-Noir wears an all-black ensemble to tell a darker tale of the famous Wall Crawler.
But instead of using webs and sticking to the walls, he will be a gun-toting vigilante who prefers to parkour. In the place of supervillains, he will be fighting against corrupt politicians, crooked cops, and gangsters in his hometown of New York City.
So, here are the five characters we could see in Prime Video’s upcoming Spider-Man Noir.

Beau DeMayo’s X-Men ’97 is a treat for fans who grew up with X-Men: The Animated Series. When the children’s content turned into an adult animated show for Disney+, fans were in for an anxiety-inducing brilliantly written series. The creators also managed to cater to the Marvel fans and bring in a few cameos like Captain America and Spider-Man. But DeMayo revealed that one superhero was strictly off-limits for them to bring into the series.
X-Men ’97 featured cameos from several Marvel superheroes, but one character couldn’t be included in the series
X-Men ’97 could not feature a cameo from Deadpool, despite the X-Men character making appearances in the 90s animated series. It could probably be due to the upcoming multiversal film in the MCU featuring the character, Deadpool & Wolverine.

Robert Eggers’ upcoming remake of F.W. Murnau’s silent classic Nosferatu is one of the more highly anticipated horror movies of the year, and the lucky folks at CinemaCon got a look at an exclusive first look at the chilling production.
The first look at Nosferatu was suitably terrifying with a heavy gothic tone. Classic-looking tall, dark castles, scurrying rats, blood gushing from necks, and full-on bleak horror. The footage included looks at Lily-Rose Depp (The Idol) and Willem Dafoe (Poor Things) but sadly only featured quick glimpses of Count Orlock himself. Perhaps that’s for the best, but I can’t wait to see Bill Skarsgard (Boy Kills World) disappear into the character.

It’s a big year for Sony’s Spider-Man-adjacent comic book universe. The year started with Madame Web connecting them all – and this summer, we’ll see Aaron Taylor-Johnson make his debut as the title character of J.C. Chandor’s Kraven The Hunter. And beyond that, there’s a third film to come from the ‘Spumc’ (as it was once known) in 2024 – Tom Hardy’s third outing as Venom. Now, some fresh details have emerged about what’s in store.
The film has received the official title Venom: The Last Dance – a title that indicates a possible trilogy-capping final chapter. Or, perhaps, a Magic Mike-esque bout of male stripping. Perhaps even both. The film – both written and directed by Kelly Marcel, who co-wrote on Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage – also has a new release date, set to hit screens on 25 October. The film, as previously reported,...

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 developed by Insomniac Games received critical acclaim after its release in October 2023. The game is the third entry in the developer’s Marvel’s Spider-Man series. It has sold over ten million units to become a major commercial success. In the game, Yuri Lowenthal voices the character of Peter Parker / Spider-Man, who must deal with Kraven the Hunter and Venom symbiote.
A still from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
The game ends on an ambiguous note that implies Miles Morales will become the primary focus of the series moving forward. In a recent interview, Lowenthal spoke about Peter Parker’s future and whether the Og Spider-Man would be taking a step back from his web-crawling adventures. Here is what Lowenthal revealed about plans for future games in the series.

Although Moon Knight had its detractors, the story of mercenary Marc Spector and his other personalities captured enough of an audience that many Marvel fans are calling for second season. Thus far, no second season has been announced, and recent comments from Disney CEO Bob Iger about focusing on its “strongest franchises” only throw the possibility into further doubt.
But there is one guy who hasn’t lost faith: Oscar Isaac. An Instagram post from Geek House Show features Isaac talking at a panel during Middle East Film and Comic Con. When asked about the future of Moon Knight in the MCU, Isaac described his hopes for the character, revealing not only that he’s game to play the character again but also dropping a surprising season 2 idea in the process. “I thought there was an interesting opportunity with Midnight Sons,” he answers, referring to a long-running Marvel Comics team that usually fights supernatural threats.

Sony continues to capitalize on its banner franchise as the studio has now introduced the brand new expanded characters in their Spider-man cinematic universe. The company continues its partnership with Marvel to bring us the new trailer for Madame Web. Right off the bat, we see Spider-man-like imagery as the film’s star, Dakota Johnson, encounters a mysterious masked menace that resembles everyone’s favorite web-head. The trailer sports somewhat of a departure from the usual origin story beats as it resembles more of a thriller, which the producer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, once described.
The synopsis reads,
“In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing’s most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with...

Early on in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker and Miles Morales wind up in a fight against a kaiju-sized Flint Marko, a.k.a. Sandman, that covers Lower Manhattan in a skyscraper-demolishing sandstorm. The fight sees both Spider-Men fighting in unison, and as the player control switches between the two characters seamlessly, you’ll weave through buildings, dodge debris, dump water towers on Marko, and use Miles’s electric powers to turn Sandman into glass. At one point, Miles will get thrown by Sandman into a skyscraper so hard that he crash-lands in a different borough, and has to swing his way back to Manhattan.

It’s been almost two years since the latest Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland premiered in theaters, and although we know the fourth movie is in development and set to come out eventually, the fans of the Web-Crawler aren’t staying on dry land while waiting for another live-action adventure. Last June, we watched ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,’ a sequel to 2018’s animated hit ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.’ Just like its predecessor, the sequel received universal acclaim, and many critics are noting it as the best candidate for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
Following the release of ‘Across the Spider-Verse,’ Spider-Man fans are now looking forward to the upcoming ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,’ a video game sequel to 2018’s ‘Spider-Man’ and its 2020 spin-off ‘Spider-Man: Milles Morales.’ For the first time ever, the sequel will assemble two Spider-Men as playable characters as they prepare to defend New York City...

Even though it’s been two years since the latest live-action ‘Spider-Man’ movie, 2023 is a really good year for web-slinger fans. Last June, we watched ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,’ one of the most acclaimed movies of the year, which set up the stage for the finale of the ‘Spider-Verse’ trilogy in ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse,’ for which we can’t wait to arrive. Also, owners of the PlayStation 5 console will finally play the anticipated ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’ video game, which is set to arrive this October.
There have been countless video games based on Spider-Man on various platforms in history, but Insomniac Games’ ‘Spider-Man,’ which was released in 2018 exclusively on PlayStation 4, is the most successful game of that kind yet. The 2000 film Ginger Snaps (watch it Here) is my all-time favorite werewolf movie. That was followed by a sequel – Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed – and a very unexpected prequel – Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning – and while I’m not as enamored with them as I am with the original movie, I do get some enjoyment out of watching them. The oddball prequel especially. If you’re a fan of Ginger Snaps trilogy as well and happen to have a Region B (or region free) Blu-ray player, you’ll be glad to hear that Second Sight Films is packaging all three movies together in a limited edition UK box set that’s going to be released on October 30th. Sony Pictures is, after Disney, the second most-prolific studio when it comes to developing Marvel content. Before 2019, there were Disney, Fox, and Sony, but then Disney purchased Fox, and although Disney and Sony made a deal that brought Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sony still believes that they can use their rights for Marvel characters to build some cinematic universe featuring villains and anti-heroes associated with Spider-Man.
The first such movie was 2018’s ‘Venom,’ starring Tom Hardy, which received negative reviews from critics, but the fans received it rather favorably. After that, the franchise spawned ‘Venom: Let there be Carnage,’ which received mixed reviews but was still commercially successful, and ‘Morbius,’ which was a critical and commercial failure. Still, Sony doesn’t plan to stop, as we’re set to get ‘Kraven the Hunter’ and ‘Madame Web’ next year.

Sony dropped the trailer for Kraven the Hunter this past week. This marks the third Spider-Man villain that has received a solo movie treatment following the Venom movies and the internet darling Morbius. It had been murky as to how the villains will eventually encounter the friendly neighborhood superhero. Venom‘s Eddie Brock had been shown traveling through multiverses and ended up briefly in the MCU, only to leave behind a trace of the symbiote in a post-credits scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Then, Morbius has the infamous mid-credits teaser where Michael Keaton’s Vulture, who also traveled through multiverses, approached Morbius with a proposal to team up.

The hunt is officially on, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson is going on a wild rampage in the latest trailer for Kraven the Hunter.
The footage, released Monday, shows a glimpse at how Taylor-Johnson’s Sergei Kravinoff became the Kraven. While on a safari to hunt lions with his father (Russell Crowe), a crime lord and hunter, Sergei is attacked by a lion after failing to shoot it. Having been seen as weak in his father’s eyes, he’s left for dead, but everything changes when the lion’s bite seems to give him superpowers.
“I stared death in the face, and for the first time, I saw my true self,” Taylor-Johnson’s Spider-Man villain can be heard saying in the trailer for the upcoming Sony film.

Filmmaker J.C. Chandor – an Oscar nominee for writing “Margin Call,” the man who directed one of Robert Redford’s final lead performances in “All Is Lost,” and a New York Mets fan – is back with his first studio blockbuster: “Kraven the Hunter,” the latest entry in Sony’s expanded Spider-Man universe.
The studio has had some success with its Spider-Man adjacent films, turning “Venom” into a blockbuster franchise with Tom Hardy and even scoring modest ticket sales with “Morbius” with Jared Leto despite toxic reviews. “Kraven the Hunter” seems to follow the template, turning a classic Spider-Man villain into an anti-hero, of sorts, who isn’t necessarily all-bad. Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as the title character, a violent killer whose DNA was altered after being attacked by a lion (sure). Oscar winner Russell Crowe plays Kraven the Hunter’s evil father with Oscar winner Ariana DeBose set as the female lead,...

The 2023 PlayStation Showcase was a bit of a disappointment. Sure, plenty of our predictions came true, but the whole event was a very “meh” affair. Quite frankly, the most exciting part of the showcase was the final game, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and that’s mostly because its trailer showcased some actual gameplay. Despite the many new things we learned about the sequel in that trailer, though, it raised some new questions regarding Venom’s identity in the game.
Sony ended the PlayStation Showcase with a marvelous bang, pun definitely intended, by treating audiences to 12 uninterrupted minutes of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 footage. The video teased Kraven the Hunter as the main villain, a potentially larger world to explore that expands past Manhattan, and, most importantly of all, a Symbiote-infected Peter Parker. And where there’s a Black Suit Spider-Man, Venom isn’t far behind. But that raises an important...

Sony Pictures' panel at CinemaCon finally unveiled footage from the studio's next outing into its own villain-centric Spider-Verse. "Kraven the Hunter," the upcoming film that reimagines Spider-Man's enemy as a violent avenger of animals done wrong, will include longtime Marvel Comics antagonist the Rhino. The R-rated film's sneak peek -- which featured Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Kraven biting, stabbing, and dismembering poachers and other baddies -- also introduced the Rhino as the main threat. Based on both the voice heard in the trailer and previous interviews, it's extremely apparent and all but officially confirmed that Alessandro Nivola will be playing the character.
The footage explicitly showed an arm turning a gray color as the character presumably transforms into a rhinoceros-like creature. "Don't you want to know why they call me the Rhino?" he asked menacingly in a line of dialogue that viewers have identified as the voice of Nivola, who is...

Kraven the Hunter leapt into action to kick off CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Thursday, with star Aaron Taylor-Johnson sending a video to give the first glimpse of the Sony film to cinema owners. The footage included a look at Taylor-Johnson in costume, including Kraven’s trademark fur.
Taylor-Johnson sent in a video introducing the footage, and revealed the film will be Sony’s first R-rated Marvel feature.
“Will it be rated-r? Fuck yes, it will be rated R,” said Johnson.
The footage shows Kraven stopping a caravan of poachers and quickly killing the six of them, including by biting one man and spitting out part of his skin to the camera. It also revealed that the classic Spider-Man villain The Rhino will be in the feature, with actor Alessandro Nivola playing the role. In the footage, only his arm is shown, and he appears to have grey skin.

The 1990s: the decade when teal squiggles and purple triangles reigned supreme. Or at least, that's what our collective memory has assigned to the period's romanticized style guide.
The '90s were formative for the medium of animation. On the silver screen, Disney animated musicals dominated the box office and awards seasons, while studios like Pixar and DreamWorks debuted their first feature films. On the small screen, the animation revolution continued in what we can now look back on as a unique convergence of passing generations. The Disney Afternoon programming block crested the wave of its success, oodles of beloved Nicktoons busted onto the scene, Cartoon Network launched, and some of today's longest-running animated series populated airwaves for the very first time.
Attempting to rank the best 90s cartoons is a nearly impossible task. Everyone has their favorites, whether we're talking about precious childhood shows or foundational barrier-breakers in adult animation.

Marvel is obviously dominating the pop culture landscape, for better or worse. Movies like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever rule at the box office, while shows such as She-Hulk: Attorney at Law motivate audiences to log into their Disney+ accounts. It’s not hard to see the grip Marvel has on entertainment at the moment. The one medium that Marvel can’t seem to crack, however, is video games. Sure we got some great games like Sony’s Spider-Man and Miles Morales, but good lord we’ve also got clunkers like The Avengers and the underperforming Guardians of the Galaxy (which is actually very good). The output is all over the place and aside from Spider-Man, nothing has really gripped audiences like Marvel’s movies have for many years now. Unfortunately their latest game Marvel’s Midnight Suns – made by the tactical masterminds at...
