It seems as if there are an endless number of YouTube stars who have authored their own books, and Jim Chapman can now count himself among that group. Chapman, a 29-year-old Brit whose main channel has more than 2.5 million subscribers, is the author of 147 Things, a look at a few of the curious topics that can be found within our universe.
Chapman’s videos tend to be versatile; his interests including fashion, baking, and drawing. His book will reinforce his status as a YouTube polymath of sorts by covering a wide range of subjects. Its subtitle is My User’s Guide to the Universe, from the Big Bang to Bellybuttons, which gives you an idea of the cross-section in play here. “Let me tell you about the rarest thing in creation, why we are all obsessed with our phones, the science of heartbreak, and why waxing your testicles might not be the best idea,...

Daniel Craig is finally back on screens as James Bond in Spectre - three years after he toppled the sadistic Javier Bardem in Skyfall.
With great anticipation comes even greater expectation – so did Spectre leave audiences at a London screening on Wednesday (October 21) shaken or stirred? Check out the first reviews below:
Digital Spy
"Daniel Craig and director Sam Mendes follow up their billion dollar box office smash Skyfall with a 007 outing that pulls the franchise back to its formula-driven roots. Spectre is bigger, louder and longer than its direct predecessor - sadly, it isn't any better.
"What Spectre does well is place Craig's 007 movies to-date into a larger, connected story. Faces from Casino Royale and beyond weave themselves into the narrative, and it all builds to a conclusion that could easily see a changeover in leading man next time around.
"Spectre will go down as Craig's stab at going full-blown Bond - big,...

TV viewers in the UK will soon get an inside look at the world of YouTube vloggers. BBC Three is set to air a documentary called Rise of the Superstar Vloggers, which will follow YouTuber Jim Chapman as he interviews his friends and colleagues in the YouTube community.
The 60-minute documentary will feature conversations between Chapman (who himself has more than 2.4 million subscribers) and top YouTube stars like Tyler Oakley, Joe Sugg, Alfie Deyes, Laci Green, Marcus Butler, and Ingrid Nilsen. Additional videomakers, such as Rhett & Link and Tomska, will show up to talk about the influence of vlogs and their creators.
The goal, according to producer Little Dot Studios, is to paint a complete picture of the vlogging profession, one that heralds its positive impact while also recognizing its drawbacks. Some of the featured vloggers, for example, will discuss how hard it is for them to maintain any sort of private life.

The four British foodies who run Sorted Food have used their YouTube channel to explore a number of different culinary experiments. They've built a chocolate cake in a mug, turned the "Double Rainbow" video into a foodstuff, and attempted to recreate the addictive chicken recipe from Nando's. For their latest project, the Sorted Food guys are out to build a hamburger the entire Internet can get behind, and they've enlisted the help of some of their YouTuber friends along the way. Sorted Food's Burger Quest began in October when they posted a video announcing their plan to find the Internet's ultimate hamburger. This process involved a lot of "research" which entailed visits to various burger restaurants around London. Warning: Do not watch this video on an empty stomach. With their Burger Quest underway, Sorted Food launched a web series called #BeatMyBurger, in which they ask YouTubers about their favorite burger...

The YouTube Boy Band — as a group of British vloggers styled themselves for a parody video — is not, technically speaking, a real music group. Its five members don’t sing, or dance, or even have a proper name. But the boy-band dynamics are there: Your front man is Alfie Deyes, 20, (2.1 million followers) who is currently one half of British YouTube’s most spazzed-about relationship; the cute one is Marcus Butler, 22 (2.3 million followers); there’s the old guy (Jim Chapman, 26, 1.4 million followers); the baby (Caspar Lee, 19, 2.1 million followers); and the other one (Joe Sugg, 22, 1.9 million followers, who could also sub in for the Cute One, depending on your preferences). Together they look like a boy band, with their fitted sweaters and gently electrocuted hair. (One Direction is a fashion inspiration, admits Marcus.) And then there are the teen girls who treat them...

Boy bands, as it turns out, do not exist for the sole purpose of making teenage girls hot and bothered. A new collaboration between five of most popular young male YouTubers has resulted in the formation of an all new boy band to raise money for the Sport Relief charity. The five participating YouTubers are Marcus Butler, Caspar Lee, Alfie Deyes, Joe Sugg, and Jim Chapman. All five of them have more than one million subscribers, and their combined subscriber count is close to 9.2 million. Therefore, calling them The YouTube Boy Band--as their video title does--is accurate. Their video is at once both a crooning song-and-dance number and a mockery of other, more serious boy bands. Through the video, the YouTube Boy Band is raising money for Sport Relief, an offshoot of Britain's well-known Comic Relief charity. A link in the description urges viewers to donate. It alternatively asks the...
