In 1996, "Scream" introduced viewers to the rules of slasher flicks, and even if they knew them already, even if they sat on the couch throwing popcorn at the screen and cursing every bad decision in every horror movie ever made, "Scream" put into words what moviegoers had always known. Horror movies are where seemingly well-grounded and intelligent individuals make stupid choices that often result in bloody death.
The pattern of human error found in all horror films is as universal as it is legendary, and the massively successful and constantly reinvented "Halloween" franchise is no exception. Since Michael Myers killed his sister, Judith, his path of carnage has been aided by what can lovingly be called the "kerfuffles" of some of his victims. In this article, we will honor some of the worst decisions characters have ever made in the "Halloween" franchise. There will be hot takes! There will be rants!

Major spoilers for Halloween Ends. Consider yourself warned. The final installment of David Gordon Green’s Halloween trilogy is now playing in theaters and streaming on Peacock, and it’s safe to say that the reaction from fans has been somewhat divisive. Most movies go through a lot of changes during production, and Halloween Ends was no different; In fact, David Gordon Green explained to Entertainment Weekly that they changed the ending of Halloween Ends after test screenings.

Teen horror typically explores issues only teens can relate to. Whether that's high school bullies, sex, or drugs, teen-centric films specialize in coming-of-age in the modern world. Along with these themes, filmmakers slather on all the genre conventions, tropes, and murderous thrills we've come to expect. From sci-fi and black comedies to witches and straight-up slashers, teen horror runs the gamut and is often unhindered by genre boundaries. What it means to pass through puberty and how relationships evolve in the process frequently lie at the heart of a teen horror movie, and monsters are usually manifestations of personal traumas and transformation.
This list stretches from several '70s and '80s horror classics to contemporary fare, capturing the progression of teen stories. A smorgasbord of subgenres is celebrated as well, including supernatural horror, slashers, werewolf movies, and a whodunnit. You'll notice common themes threading through many entries on this list,...

Billed as the final film in David Gordon Green‘s sequel trilogy, Halloween Ends surely won’t be the last movie in the franchise but it’s likely to be the final time Jamie Lee Curtis returns to do battle with Michael Myers. Not surprisingly, it’s a promise that put asses in the seats over the weekend, with Halloween Ends scaring up 58.4 million worldwide thus far.
Domestically, Halloween Ends made 41.2 million in its opening weekend across 3,901 theaters. That puts Halloween Ends in the #1 spot on the domestic charts this week, and the film is likely to rocket past 100 million worldwide in these next two weeks before Halloween.
For the sake of comparison, Halloween had a domestic opening of 76 million back in 2018, while Halloween Kills opened to 49 million here in the United States just last year.

As one of the longest reigning queens on Bravo’s “Real Housewives” franchise, Kyle Richards has found great success on camera, even if it wasn’t exactly what she imagined for herself as a kid. The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” fan favorite began her career as a child actress at just five years old, following in the footsteps of her sisters Kathy and Kim, who have also appeared on the reality show at different times. Though not her biggest role (she had a longstanding run on “ER” in the early aughts), her most notorious appearance is in the original “Halloween,” a role she reprises in “Halloween Ends.”
While the shots fired at some of those dinner parties may make reality TV look a lot like a horror movie, Richards insists they’re very different beasts.
“Unfortunately, it’s not scripted. It’s not set up. And I’m just myself there,...

Warning: This article contains spoilers for "Halloween Ends."
Despite Halloween being the favorite holiday of horror fans, everyone loves a good Easter egg hunt. John Carpenter's original "Halloween" from 1978 is filled with little moments that in hindsight have become a treasure trove for horror fanatics, the most obvious examples being the William Shatner "Star Trek" mask serving as the base for Michael Myers' face and little Tommy Doyle (Brian Andrews) and Lindsey Wallace (Kyle Richards) watching "The Thing From Another World" while being babysat by Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). The latter has become a favorite trivia fact to pull out at parties by horror fans, as John Carpenter would obviously go on to direct a remake of the film, his 1982 masterpiece "The Thing."

After being a part of John Carpenter’s original film 44 years ago now, Kyle Richards is set to return to the Halloween franchise one last time for Halloween Ends. As Lindsey Wallace, Richards was able to reprise her role in last year’s Halloween Kills, and this time around, we get to see Lindsey bonding and supporting both Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Allyson (Andi Matichak) as the trio of women contend with the aftermath of Michael Myers’ attacks that fueled the two previous films from David Gordon Green.
During the recent press day for Halloween Ends, Daily Dead had the opportunity to have a quick chat with Richards about returning to the Halloween franchise after all these years, getting to explore her character more in Ends, her relationship with Jamie Lee Curtis, and more.

Kyle Richards looked great on the red carpet for the screening of her latest film Halloween Ends. Along with Jamie Lee Curtis and several folks dressed as villain Michael Myers, Richards was joined by Melanie Griffith for some great red carpet shots.
Richards is no stranger to this horror franchise. As a child actress, she appeared alongside Jamie Lee Curtis in the original Halloween in 1978, and returned to play a grown-up Lindsey Wallace starting with Halloween Kills in 2018.
Griffith has had a storied career, and while she didn’t appear in this Halloween film, she’s welcome to join any red carpet she wants. She recently played an acting coach in The Disaster Artist.

Plot: Four years after the tragedy that took place in Halloween Kills, Laurie Strode is finally ready to move on. Yet Michael Myers legacy isn’t ready to let her go just yet.
Review: In 1978, moviegoers discovered one of the most iconic figures in horror, his name was Michael Myers. Halloween, the John Carpenter-directed classic, became synonymous with the holiday. It launched the career of the film’s star, Jamie Lee Curtis. Now, we are finally coming to the end. David Gordon Green has offered up his take on Haddonfield with Halloween (2018), the divisive Halloween Kills, and finally, Halloween Ends. It certainly appears to be the final film in the franchise. Yet any self-respecting horror fan knows that means evil never truly dies for the inevitable reboot/remake. However, it is likely the final film for Ms. Curtis. And she gives us one last showdown with the man behind the mask.

Halloween Ends isn’t really going to be the end of the Halloween franchise. As long as there is still money to be made off of Michael Myers, we’re still going to be getting new Halloween movies. But this movie probably is going to be the last time Jamie Lee Curtis ever plays franchise heroine Laurie Strode – and in a new promo video, Curtis gets choked up while talking about her last day on the Halloween Ends set. The day she said goodbye to a character she has been playing, off and on, for forty-four years. You can watch the promo video right here:

In the wake of yesterday’s final trailer, a brand new featurette for Halloween Ends has arrived this afternoon, further teasing “The Final Battle” that’s set for October 14, 2022.
“Fans are gonna lose their fucking minds,” Jamie Lee Curtis notes in the new featurette video, which you’ll find below. Halloween Ends is set four years after the events of Halloween Kills, and Curtis also teases the mindset of Laurie Strode going into this final battle with Michael.

Trilogy-ender Halloween Ends is headed to theaters and Peacock on October 14, and the film marks the return not only of Jamie Lee Curtis‘s Laurie Strode but also Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace, who appeared in the original horror classic alongside Curtis. Richards also returned for Halloween Kills last year, her character surviving the events of that film.
What has Lindsey Wallace been up to since the events of Halloween Kills? Jamie Lee Curtis has shared a new shot from Halloween Ends, giving us a sneak peek at Lindsey’s return.
Is this merely Lindsey’s Halloween costume, or has she become a tarot reader in the four years since her harrowing experience in Halloween Kills? We’ll find out in a few more weeks.

Michael Myers and Laurie Strode are getting ready to have their final fight in Halloween Ends, which is coming to theaters and also streaming on Peacock on October 14, 2022.
In a new interview that just made its way onto our desk this morning, Jamie Lee Curtis teases Laurie Strode’s mental state in Halloween Ends, set four years after Halloween Kills. In addition to noting that Laurie has moved on from worrying about Michael Myers, a stark contrast from the previous two films in this trilogy, she also seems to tease another threat entirely.
“It’s a movie about a final reckoning… between Laurie and Michael,” she says of Halloween Ends. “There is a battle between them, and the irony is that the 2018 and 2021 movies were about a woman who was prepared for Michael. Every day of her life, since she was 17 years old. This is a movie where she’s actually moved on.

Halloween Ends is coming to theaters And Peacock on October 14, the film taking place four years after the events of Halloween Kills and promising the Final fight between Michael and Laurie. What were they up to in those four lost years, you might be wondering?
Director David Gordon Green explains to Total Film that Laurie Strode has finally found herself in a better place. As for Michael, well, it sounds like we’ll never really know where he’s been.
“We don’t really explain that,” David Gordon Green tells the magazine. “It’s like: I don’t want to see where Jaws goes to sleep at night when I’m watching a shark movie. I want to see him when he pops up, and he’s got an appetite!”
Jamie Lee Curtis tells Total Film, on the other hand, “By the time you meet Laurie Strode, she has gotten help.

Michael Myers isn’t looking as good as he used to. In 2018’s Halloween (watch it Here), the latex of his mask was deteriorating – which makes sense, since it was the same mask he wore during his 1978 killing spree. The ending of that movie left the mask with burn damage for Halloween Kills (watch that one Here). Now four years have passed between the events of Halloween Kills and the upcoming sequel Halloween Ends, and when we catch up with Myers this time we’ll find that his mask is showing more wear and tear… and has even gotten moldy. Trick or Treat Studios will be selling replicas of Halloween Ends‘ moldy Myers mask, and are going to start accepting pre-orders (for the price of 79.99) at that link on September 15th. In the meantime, you can see an image of the Trick or Treat Studios replica mask at the bottom of this article.

For several years, the Halloween and Hellraiser franchises were housed at the same studio. That’s no longer the case, so it’s a cool coincidence that we’re getting new additions to both of those franchises this October. A Hellraiser reboot is scheduled to arrive first, set to be released through the Hulu streaming service on October 7th. The new Halloween sequel, Halloween Ends, will follow a week later, reaching both theatres and the Peacock streaming service on October 14th. In anticipation of these release dates, USA Today has unveiled new images from each film: one giving another look at Pinhead, who is played by Jamie Clayton in the Hellraiser reboot, and the other offering a glimpse at the Michael Myers vs. Laurie Strode showdown we’ll be witnessing in Halloween Ends. Both images can be seen at the bottom of this article.

Jamie Lee Curtis returns in horror showdown.
Universal will release Halloween Ends in theatres and day-and-date on Peacock, mirroring the release for Halloween Kills a year ago when Covid cases were higher.
The horror film from Universal Pictures, Miramax, and Blumhouse will open on October 14 and stars Jamie Lee Curtis in her final outing in the 45-year franchise.
Curtis reprises her role as Laurie Strode, who faces off for the last time against Michael Myers. The story takes place four years after events in 2021 release Halloween Kills as Strode lives with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and is finishing her memoir.

Laurie Strode's last stand will play out on Peacock the same day it hits theaters.
Universal Pictures, Miramax, and Blumhouse’s Halloween Ends, the final installment of the most acclaimed, revered horror franchise in film history, will debut as Peacock’s Halloween movie event Friday, October 14, day-and-date of its theatrical release.
The move follows in the footsteps of Halloween Kills, which launched on Peacock and in theaters on the same date in 2021.
Granted, that move was in response to Covid-19, but the flick went on to generate a decent amount of money at the box office.
It was significantly lower than its predecessor, but it likely helped boost Peacock subscribers.
"This is Laurie Strode’s last stand," the logline for Halloween Ends reads.
"After 45 years, the most acclaimed, revered horror franchise in film history reaches its epic, terrifying conclusion as Laurie Strode faces off for the last time against the embodiment of evil,...
