Let's get one thing out of the way real quick: There was no reason for this episode of The Walking Dead to be 90 minutes long. Not a one. After last week's blunder of focusing a 75-minute long episode of Tara and Heath, of all characters, the AMC series made another season seven shortcoming abundantly clear this week. That shortcoming's name? Negan. After all of season six's genuinely nerve wracking teasing of the big baddie's arrival, each new week we actually spend in the guy's presence chips away at whatever made him scary to begin with, leaving a character who we're having trouble fearing or even finding all that interesting. One of the biggest hurdles when it comes to adapting comic books for film and mixing and matching characters from different properties is that obtaining the rights can get tricky. It’s often hard to discern who owns who and studios are constantly trying to strike deals to use each other’s heroes and villains.
As you no doubt know by now, Marvel will be using Ego the Living Planet in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and have even brought in Kurt Russell to play the character. However, at one point, James Gunn may have had to choose a different father for Star-Lord, as the rights to Ego actually belonged to Fox.

With the movie set to open in just over two months, and with rumblings of behind-the-scenes battles between the director and studio having quieted, Darren Aronofsky is putting the final touches on his Biblical saga "Noah." And today he announced a new cast member, hitting Twitter saying: "just added the legend nick nolte as the watcher samyaza in #noah . long live the nephilim! it was an honor." So who is Samyaza? Thanks to Wikipedia, we've learned that he's a fallen angel (sometimes referred to as Satan), who is part of group of angels know as Watchers "that are consumed with lust for mortal women" and eventually "begot giant offspring (in Genesis called Nephilim or 'fallen ones' in Hebrew) that dominated and feasted upon humans during the days of Enoch."
