Athena was understandably gobsmacked when she awoke to find her son cooking breakfast in her kitchen. Not only did she think he was still living with Michael in Miami, but she barely recognized her all-grown-up little boy, now played by Elijah M. Cooper.

In one of the biggest twists of the 2023 upfront, Fox opted not to renew its highest rated scripted series, 9-1-1. As Deadline reported first, the drama, produced by 20th Television, was instead picked up for a seventh season by 20th TV sibling ABC.
While the announcement came earlier this month, during Fox’s pre-upfront press call Monday morning, the network’s CEO Rob Wade revealed that the decision for 9-1-1‘s run to end with Season 6 was actually made a year ago by his predecessor, Charlie Collier, as part of the difficult, down-to-the-wire renewals of 9-1-1 and The Resident, which finally closed a couple of hours before the network’s upfront presentation.
“But needless to say, you look at shows in two different ways. It’s first and foremost from the creative lens and how much we love to create, and the second thing is really the economics of that,...

Despite being one of the highest-rated shows on Fox, the 9-1-1 series almost wasn't renewed. Because the network doesn't own the series, it makes less money on it and margins in television are a lot tighter than they used to be. Could this be 9-1-1's last year on Fox? Will this drama be cancelled or renewed for season seven? Stay tuned. *Status Update Below.

The 118 is on the move. Though 9-1-1‘s current sixth season will be its last on Fox, the procedural has been renewed for Season 7 on a new network — ABC!
Season to date, 9-1-1 is averaging 7.3 million total viewers and a 1.0 demo rating (with Live+7 playback) — numbers that are not only good enough for No. 1 among all Fox dramas, but that would also qualify as the most-watched and top-rated entertainment program on ABC this TV season.

9-1-1 Season 6 will resume on Monday, March 6, Fox has announced.
The last fresh episode of the procedural drama aired on November 28, leaving fans with plenty of questions about when the show would be back.
9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 9 wrapped with Bobby dealing with a personal tragedy in the form of his sponsor's death.

"And losing Wendell, he lost his sponsor, he lost his friend, and it's a tricky time for Bobby because of that."
"But I think that his going into investigative mode is a sort of way for him to focus and channel his grief into a plan of action. And we will see that in the back half of the season," Kristen shared.

The 118 is back in action in a little over a week.
Fox has finally unveiled our first look at 9-1-1 Season 6 in the form of a teaser trailer.
We learned earlier this summer that the big disaster to kick off the season would be a blimp crashing into a packed stadium.
However, the official trailer hints at the death of one of the most popular characters.
We see our favorite members of the 118 make their way to several disasters, but the crafty editing makes it look like everyone but Bobby survives.
It's a harrowing turn of events, but it's hard to believe Fox would spoil such a massive development prior to the season premiere.
Then again, the series likes to leave viewers questioning what will happen next, so this could be a huge misdirect.
Losing someone like Bobby would shake up the series like never before, but...

The 118 is always down for a rescue mission, but it’s one of their own who will need saving when 9-1-1 returns later this month.
Fox on Friday released the full-length trailer for the procedural’s sixth season, premiering Monday, Sept. 19 (8/7c), and while a blimp crashing into a stadium full of people is a big deal, we’re only concerned about one person: Captain Bobby Nash. (Trust us, you will be too after you watch.)

Every season, we at TV Fanatic ponder what disasters could be on tap next for everyone on 9-1-1.
Thanks to some new teaser trailers, we finally have some clarity.
The latest horrifying event comes from the sky, thanks to a blimp.
"And welcome to another record crowd at CalAir Stadium. Tonight's contest is going to be worth the wait," an announcer can be heard saying in one of the clips.
"Hold on... What's that?" he adds as the shadow of a massive blimp darkens the soccer field below.
"Oh my God! I think we need a break everyo..." we hear him say before his voice cuts out, and we see stadium lights shattering.
It's creative for sure, and one that will cause ramifications people will not expect.
It's going to be yet another disaster that pushes the emergency services to the limit.

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Monday’s “9-1-1.”)
“9-1-1” took on racial profiling and police brutality in Monday’s episode, “Rage,” in which Athena’s ex-husband Michael (Rockmond Dunbar), and their children May (Corinne Massiah) and Harry (Marcanthonee Reis) had a run-in with the authorities that almost ended in Harry being shot. This incident leads Athena (Angela Bassett) to confront the officer responsible and Michael to have a talk with their son he wished he never had to have.
“It was sort of the heart of the episode,” “9-1-1” showrunner Tim Minear told TheWrap of Michael’s harrowing encounter, which included a moment where a gun was pulled on his son by a police officer. “We knew we wanted to do an episode about rage and so we were kind of casting around and looking for stories and cases that would fit into that scene. And...

Imagine, in an effort to stamp out global warming, humans shot a chemical compound into the atmosphere that not only stopped global warming, but froze the entire Earth, killing ever living organism on it (oops)... every living organism except for those that survived on a train known as Snowpiercer. The Snowpiercer is a train built by a multi-billionaire who doubted the chemical shot into the atmosphere would solve anything and wanted to guarantee his survival, survival that depended on a perfectly balanced ecosystem, an ecosystem he designed and maintains on said train with tracks that manage to circle the globe. All that remains of humanity, that survived the frozen apocalypse, now lives aboard the Snowpiercer. Director Joon-ho Bong (The Host), along with Kelly Masterson (Before the Devil Knows You're Dead), has adapted the French graphic novel "Le Transperceneige" for the big screen, beginning with a short prelude defining the events...
