The Denver District Attorney’s Office have dropped all charges against Royal Trux’s Neil Hagerty over an alleged assault of a Denver police officer.
According to The Denver Post, Hagerty, 58, had his charges wiped away after completing a year of mental health treatment. Hagerty was initially arrested following an altercation with police outside a Denver apartment complex in April 2023. The officers were allegedly responding to a welfare check called for Hagerty. He was charged with three felonies for allegedly trying to rip off an officer’s badge, using the badge’s pin to try and cut an officer’s neck, and attempting to pull an officer’s gun from his holster. All three officers involved in the altercation were released from the hospital.

In 1989, "Weird Al" Yankovic released a song called "Isle Thing," a parody of Tone Lōc's 1988 hit "Wild Thing." In Yankovic's version, the song's narrator met an attractive woman at the Circle-k and went back to her place, presumably for some active coitus. Instead, however, the woman eschewed sex for a marathon of "Gilligan's Island" reruns. The narrator immediately began to recognize the logical inconsistencies in Sherwood Schwartz's beloved 1963 sitcom, notably that the Professor (Russell Johnson) could build a nuclear reactor using only coconuts, but wasn't able to construct a boat to escape the desert island he and the castaways were stranded on. Yankovic also noted that "those homeboys brought an awful lot for just a three-hour tour."
The premise of "Gilligan's Island" is made clear in the show's opening theme song. Two sailors and five guests were to take a three-hour boat tour around Hawai'i when they hit bad weather,...

The Gordy subplot in Jordan Peele's "Nope" is distressing for many reasons, not least of which is that history is filled with incidents of real-life film and TV actors nearly meeting their maker at the hands -- or paws -- of a startled non-human costar. We're not as far removed from such real-world incidents as you might assume, either. During her "Hot Ones" episode in 2022, Leslie Mann recalled having to share a "little tiny space" with an actual lion on the "George of the Jungle" set 25 years earlier and realizing that "if he just jumps at me, I'm dead" and nobody could do a damn thing to save her.
30 years before that, it seems Bob Denver had a similar encounter with one of Simba's cousins on "Gilligan's Island." The show's second season episode "Feed the Kitty" saw a shipwrecked lion wash up on the shores of the titular island,...

Watching "Gilligan's Island" reruns as a child always had this author wondering if "Gilligan" was the character's first name or last name. Gilligan, as played hilariously by Bob Denver, was the main character of the series, but also its buffoonish comic relief. He was most countered by his straight man, the Skipper (Alan Hale) or Professor Roy Hinckley (Russell Johnson), but he served as a foil for every character. Denver doesn't get enough credit for his pliability as a comic performer. Denver passed away in 2005 at the age of 70, best known for "Gilligan's Island" and for the 1959 sitcom "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis." He was also a regular on the Sherwood Schwartz series "Dusty's Trail" as well as the 1968 series "The Good Guys."
On "Gilligan's Island," many fans wondered what Gilligan's full name was. It seems that, at the end of the day, he's like Cher or Fabian, sporting only one name.

The website TV NewsCheck is publishing news content once again, less than two weeks after its top editors said the company would put written content on hiatus in favor of focusing on its emerging events business.
The reversal comes with a significant caveat: TV NewsCheck content now requires a subscription to the website’s Tvn Plus product, which costs $200 per year.
Earlier this month, TV NewsCheck’s top editors said the decision to stop publishing news articles for free came amid a downturn in the digital advertising market, a situation that has impacted some of its peer publications.
Amid an outpouring of reader support, the editors followed up the note with an affirmation that the website needed around $300,000 to “turn the lights back on,” something that could be accomplished if it generated at least 1,500 subscription sales.

This week, Lana Del Rey has further cemented her status as a torch-bearer of Americana culture. First, she performed Elvis’ “Unchained Melody” on NBC’s Christmas at Graceland, and now, she’s shared a cover of John Denver’s classic song, “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”
Swapping Denver’s folksy guitar for a reverb-washed piano, Del Rey’s take on the classic sing-along captures a similar sense of wonder as the original, but interpolates a haunting quality (pretty standard territory for her). As the piano’s bounce gains momentum, it’s almost as if you’re listening to the echoes of an old bar’s parlor piano, still reverberating even after the conversations it once scored have long been forgotten by time. The pedal steel licks, meanwhile, remind you of the song’s ‘70s folk rock origins, while Del Rey’s hazy, ever-so-Del-Rey-esque vocal performance firmly plants her arrangement in the present day.

More than three and half years have gone by since it was announced that Krysten Ritter would be re-teaming with Don’t Trust the B- in Apartment 23 creator Nahnatchaka Khan (who went on to create Fresh Off the Boat after Don’t Trust the B- ended) for a dark comedy series based on author/stand-up comedian Charley Warady’s novel Serial Killers Anonymous. But while Khan has gone on to direct two feature films since that announcement – the rom-com Always Be My Maybe and the time travel slasher Totally Killer – there hasn’t been any further word on Serial Killers Anonymous. The Hollywood Reporter decided to ask Khan about the project while she was doing press for Totally Killer, and she told them there’s still a chance the dark comedy series could happen.
Khan was asked, “In 2020, it was reported that you and Krysten Ritter were reuniting for a dark comedy/serial killer series.

Luke Gulbranson made a surprise appearance on Summer House and new friend Gabby Prescod revealed that they matched on a dating app, but he ghosted her during the pandemic.
It’s a small world indeed because Prescod said they made a connection, talked, and then he disappeared. “Many moons ago, Luke and I matched on a dating app and we chatted for a while,” Prescod said in a confessional. “But he actually did not get back to me during the pandemic. So I thought that was dead in the water. And now he just comes in looking like a Midwestern, country, Hampton’s hybrid of … something.”
Prescod is introduced to Gulbranson at Cooke’s 40th birthday party and he doesn’t seem to recognize her. They chat at the party, but not for long.

Andrea Denver made many new friends when he was cast on Winter House and then Summer House, but shared that becoming close friends with Luke Gulbranson was the “best surprise” he had from the experience.
Gulbranson, who was also on Winter House and Summer House, did not return for Summer House Season 7. Denver also decided to bow out from the current Summer House season, but recently made a guest appearance. But not being on the show didn’t change his friendships, especially his closeness with Gulbranson.
Denver also teased that will make more than one guest appearance on Summer House and next time girlfriend Lexi Sundin will be by his side.

Food porn alert on Summer House! Andrea Denver returns for the weekend and gets a re-do on last summer’s Italian feast.
This time the Italian native made rigatoni alla carbonara and Denver generously shared his recipe with Showbiz Cheat Sheet.
The sumptuous dish only has a few ingredients, but the decadence shines through. Denver told Showbiz Cheat Sheet that quality ingredients are key to this dish.
“It’s one of my favorite pastas and I’ve done it so many times,” he said. “So it was easy for me. When I decided to cook for everybody I knew what I was going to do. But I have to say, the one that I cooked that night was probably my best ever, so I was really happy.”

This dish calls for spaghetti, but Denver prefers to use rigatoni because it holds the sauce.
