"What the hell is the world coming to?" Netflix has unveiled the first official trailer for The Highwaymen, a new cops & robbers thriller based on a true story from America's past. Two former Texas Rangers, played by Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson, come out of retirement to catch the infamous outlaws Bonnie & Clyde - who terrorized America in the 1930s. Made by the filmmaker behind The Rookie, The Alamo, The Blind Side, and Saving Mr. Banks, Netflix is giving The Highwaymen a two week theatrical release before it arrives streaming online. The cast also includes Kathy Bates, Kim Dickens, John Carroll Lynch, W. Earl Brown, Thomas Mann, David Furr, Jesse C. Boyd, and Jane McNeill. Hot damn - this looks crazy good! Don't underestimate Netflix, sometimes they can whip up & deliver seriously killer films. Enjoy. "Hairstyles are temporary, but family is forever." Magnolia has debuted an official trailer for an indie comedy titled Permanent, set in the 1980s about a young girl who gets a special hairstyle to fit in. The title is, of course, referring to the 80's hairstyle called "permanent", or better known as a "perm", with big Farrah Fawcett-type curls. When she tries to get this done at the wrong place, it turns out to be a disaster, turning her into the laughing stock of the school. Kira McLean stars as Aurelie, along with Patricia Arquette and Rainn Wilson as her parents, plus Aidan Fiske, Jane McNeill, and Brian Bremer. This looks fun, quirky, and charming, in a quintessential indie way of course, which is why it also looks mostly forgettable. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Colette Burson's Permanent, direct from YouTube: Set in 1983 in small town Virginia,...

The reality: In the United States, women make 78 cents for every dollar a man makes. For African-American women, it’s 64 cents. For Latinas, 56 cents. The fantasy in the movie “Magic Mike Xxl,” is that women hold all the dollars, and the dollar really stretches. Ladies – of all colors, sizes and ages -- rain dollar bills on stripping men in wads, or like falling confetti, like it’s nothing, while men strip without command, without any extra urging from those waving singles. (In what is one particularly unsexy scene at the Myrtle Beach male stripper convention, women wait in line to get single-dollar bill change for the $20 or $100 dollar bills, in delicious modular stacks.) The reality is that money is power. By proxy, a film whose core demo is women (and gay men) that rakes in a lot of money means that the woman’s dollar has power -- why...

Move over Fifty Shades of Grey – the movie that’s going to get the most female tongues wagging this year is unquestionably Magic Mike Xxl, in which Channing Tatum returns to the role of an ace male stripper who thought he was out of the life for good, only to find himself drawn back in for more sweaty, sexy antics with such buff co-stars as Joe Manganiello, Adam Rodriguez, Matt Bomer and Kevin Nash.
A new trailer for the R-rated summer flick has splashed online, dripping with enough sexual innuendos and pent-up passion to make a Nsfw label somewhat appropriate. The actual plot of the sequel is irrelevant, as the trailer itself points out through a fourth-wall-breaking narration – Magic Mike Xxl promises some ripped, raunchy fellas doing what they do best, and that’s more than enough for the pic’s target audience.

Did you watch the MTV Movie Awards last weekend? No, we didn’t either, but if you saw any of the recapped jokes or highlights you know that host Amy Schumer’s go-to joke centered on the ladies lust for “Magic Mike Xxl.” If her take is anything to go by, the female audiences most anticipated movie of summer 2015 is certainly this “Magic Mike” sequel. So what happens in part 2? "Just a bunch of naked dudes sitting around doing dude stuff. We read all the message boards, and people were like, ‘Less story. Less plot. Just dudes’ things.’ And we listened to that,” star Channing Tatum recently joked to EW. There are changes to the movie and the behind-the-scenes creators though; the movie takes place three years after the first one and gone are Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer and Cody Horn’s characters. But the cast is stacked with newcomers that include Amber Heard,...

"Bigger is better..." So said Joe Manganiello, the actor who plays Big Dick Richie in Magic Mike Xxl. Or, as the film's official Twitter put it, "Nothing says Xxl like our Richie (@JoeManganiello). Bdr is back and Bigger than ever!" Manganiello looks very ripped, as he flexes his arm muscles and shows off his famous washboard abs. The actor's poster was revealed Monday. It was the seventh release, after Magic Mike Xxl's social media unveiled Matt Bomer, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez, Jada Pinkett Smith, Channing Tatum and tWitch's posters. The movie, in theaters July 1, also stars Elizabeth Banks, Donald Glover, Amber Heard, Gabriel Iglesias, Andie MacDowell, Jane McNeill, Michael Strahan...

I hate to spoil a blockbuster this early, but it appears "Magic Mike Xxl" will have as much sexy shirtlessness as the first movie. I hope your feelings aren't hurt by that revelation. The sequel is out July 1, and in a new poster, we see Channing Tatum in the middle of a serious, shirtless jive. Apparently Snapchat followers of the film at @MagicMikeMovie got to view this pic first. Ugh! Now we have to learn what Snapchat is and start saying "Snapchat" in regular conversation like mean cool tweens. For the record, "Magic Mike Xxl" will feature Tatum, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash and Adam Rodriguez, who are all reprising their roles from the first film. Matthew McConaughey, Cody Horn, Riley Keough, Alex Pettyfer, and Olivia Munn will not be returning. Newcomers in the sequel include Elizabeth Banks, Donald Glover, Amber Heard, Gabriel Iglesias, Andie Macdowell, Jane McNeill, Jada Pinkett Smith,...

Do you like zombies and hate cancer? If so, then Zombie Apocalypse II “Cancer fears the D!” is an event you’d likely dig. Taking place in Detroit at the Tangent Gallery/Hastings Street Ballroom on June 28th, this event benefits the American Cancer Society via The Walking Hope. In addition to an abundance of entertainment for a good cause, fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead should be really excited by one of the items up for auction at the fundraiser.
While enjoyers of the The Walking Dead have been able to get autographs from a good amount of the cast over the past year or so at conventions, even the most die-hard fans would be hard-pressed to get an item signed by 25 people affiliated with the hit AMC show. Oscar-winning director Barry Levinson, the veteran who helmed classics like Rain Men, Diner and Bugsy, deserves kudos for attempting to turn the increasingly moribund found footage subgenre into a more thought-provoking entity. But beyond noble intentions lies a largely ineffective and ponderous movie that harnesses many of the worst elements of both the horror genre and the found footage trope.
The Bay has a familiar eco-disaster premise that harks back to movies like Return of the Living Dead Part II. Instead of the toxic gas spillage that torments a town in that zombie splatterfest, Levinson's movie features a waterborne threat that stems from the unethical dumping of waste off the shores of a seaside town in Maryland.
After the one-dimensionally fiendish mayor ignores some ominous scientific research, a deadly plague is unleashed and...

Director: Barry Levinson. Writers: Michael Wallach. Cast: Kristen Connolly, Jane McNeill, Christopher Denham, Michael Beasley, Kether Donohue, Anthony Reynolds and Andy Stahl. Director Barry Levinson is no stranger to storytelling. He has a history of telling tales of politics and humour in films such as Good Morning Vietnam and Wag the Dog. In The Bay, Levinson was again motivated to tell a film based somewhat in reality involving the Chesapeake Bay. Fishing and oyster harvesting have declined in the fictional town of Claridge, Maryland. And, there are a treasure trove of monsters to blame. Levinson keeps the real cause of this catastrophe cloaked in fog, but this director's archaeological viewpoint keeps the visual presentation interesting and sometimes macabre. The film begins with a very normal July 4th celebration in Anytown, USA. Families come together for chicken wing eating contests, fireworks and pool parties. But, there is something growing in the water.

With a repertoire of directing credits under his belt that includes films such as Rain Man, The Natural, Wag the Dog, and Bandits, Barry Levinson is not a director many people associate with the horror genre, and even less so with the found footage sub-genre. However, he aims to change that with his latest venture, The Bay, which explores the effects of a viral outbreak in a small town. The movie is penned by first time writer Michael Wallach, and stars Kristen Connolly, Anthony Reynolds, Jane McNeill, and Christopher Denham. A trailer for the movie, which will be screening at Tiff 2012 during the Midnight Madness part of the festival, has now been released, and can be seen below.

Greg Nicotera, a producer and the make ups/FX man for AMC’s The Walking Dead, sat down for a Q&A about the show for amctv.com. He chatted about the prison, directing the show, the evolution of the zombies on the show and his plans to become a zombie himself. Here it is (via Dread Central):
Q: From Day 1, everyone has been excited to get to the prison. Now that you’re there, does it live up to its expectations?
A: The prison is certainly the beacon for things to come. When you reach that milestone, we know we’ve turned a corner, and now we know that different and bigger things are coming. It’s like watching Jaws and seeing the little yellow barrel and saying, “Ok, that’s the yellow barrel, so I know the shark is somewhere around here.” It’s just a question...

No one can deny that week in and week out, "The Walking Dead" pushes the TV envelope when it comes to how it depicts zombies - and that's mostly due to the show's makeup master Greg Nicotero.
In this latest "Dispatch from the Set" courtesy of AMCtv.com, Nicotero describes zombie torso decomposition, his own plans to play an undead terror this year, and what Season 3 has in common with Jaws.

AMC’s latest Dispatches From the Set feature is with Greg Nicotero. While the features they post are always interesting, we don’t usually get as much new or detailed information as was provided in today’s Q&A. Continue reading to learn what Greg Nicotero had to say about directing a new episode, improved zombie makeup this season, and the walker he was supposed to play in Season 2:
Q: You’re now directing your second The Walking Dead episode after last season’s “Judge, Jury, Executioner.” What can you tell us about it?
A: I tend to get these really good dramatic bits in my episodes… I got the script and I read it and it’s huge. Every single character in the show has something to do, something to say and there are great dramatic moments. I also had several key moments from the graphic novel that...

Warning: The following article contains spoilers from "The Walking Dead" season finale as well as a preview of Season 3.If the final scenes of last night's "Walking Dead" finale left you scratching your head, we have the answers!Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and company had to flee Herschel's (Scott Wilson) farm after it was overrun by a massive zombie herd. There were casualties, including Jimmy (James McCune) and Patricia (Jane McNeill), both of whom had probably five lines combined all season long. The survivors reunited on the highway, and believed they lost Andrea (Laurie Holden). Andrea did survive, and managed to fend off walker after walker before collapsing in the woods. Right before she was going to become zombie bait, she was saved by a katana-wielding stranger. With dwindling fuel and no supplies, the other survivors decided to set up camp, where Rick dropped the bomb that they're all infected --...

Raise your hands in the air!
*here be spoilers (of course).
Director: Ernest R. Dickerson.
Writers: Frank Darabont, Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, Charlie Adlard, Robert Kirkman, and Glen Mazzara.
Wow, what a great ending to the second season of "The Walking Dead!" The thirteenth episode titled "Beside a Dying Fire" introduced a new character, Micchone, a new setting, the prison, and a whole lot of action! It was like the wild west on Herschel's (Scott Wilson) farm as a swarm of zombies seemed highly motivated to kill Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his group. Only Jimmy (James Allen McCune) and Patricia (Jane McNeill) fell while Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) became unhinged by Rick's murderous confession. Carol should have been left behind at the farm, but this finale really seemed well put together.
What was motivating those zombies to move about? There was a scene involving a helicopter flying over a major city,...

Robert Kirkman has said that he thinks Walking Dead fans are now used to characters being killed off at any moment. Viewers of tonight's second season finale saw Jimmy (James McCune) and Patricia (Jane McNeill) die following the deaths of Shane (Jon Bernthal) and Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn) in the previous two episodes.
> 'The Walking Dead' season two finale in pictures Kirkman said that he believes the TV show has replicated the atmosphere of the original comics, telling Entertainment Weekly: "One of my favorite things about the show right now is, after these three episodes, we are in a mode where the audience is so used to characters going at any moment that they're almost surprised when people don't go. That's really cool. That's the atmosphere we've had going on in the comic book series for a long (more)...

The Walking Dead “Triggerfinger” Air Date: 2/19/2012
While Shane and most of the gang (and us as viewers) are restless on the farm, Rick, Herschel and Glenn find themselves holed up at the bar after friends of Dave and Tony come to check up on them in what turns into an old fashioned shoot out (folks don’t take kindly to other folks killing their friends). Lori also finds herself holed up, in her upside down crashed car, with a zombie clawing at her.
Hungry?
About to sit down for a nice meal thoughtfully provided by Patricia (Jane McNeill) and company, everyone realizes Lori is missing, and that she went off on her own to get Rick back. Predictably, Shane is driving away after her before the appetizers. Rude. He quickly finds Lori’s wreck, and brings her back. Lori only comes willing because Shane lies and said Rick was home safe.

The third episode of "The Walking Dead" was a pivotal one for Shane (Jon Bernthal). Shane looked within himself and -- faced with two chances, slim and none -- made a decision that cost one man his life so another member of his group could live.
In Sunday's (Nov. 6) episode, "Cherokee Rose," the group gathers at Hershel's (Scott Wilson) farm to lay Otis (Pruitt Taylor Vince) to rest and try to make some sense of their senseless, zombie-infested world.
In this sneak preview clip, Patricia (Jane McNeill) asks Shane to share some words about Otis' last moments. As we see flashbacks of Otis' grim final moments, Shane does the only thing he can: he lies.
We got chills.
