Irish producer Paul Thompstone and Sorin Baluta have launched a new sales agency out of Ireland. The company, Studio Atlantic, launches in Cannes with a World War II feature set to shoot in Belgium this fall.
Having specialized in production finance, Thompstone has a large network of funders, including private equity, for high-concept feature films and television. This is the second short film from Last Call Pictures, and this one has a real '70s grindhouse feel to it. Desdemona 6 features Katie Bearden, Jason Mac and Bruce Rowland and was directed by Johnny Priest, who also handled the writing duties with Mac Allen. Music was done by Rich Douglas and stunt driving by Rowland and David Allen. Be sure to stick around after the credits for an additional scene.

The population in Mystic Falls continues to grow as various Facebook posts reveal the addition of three new people to Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries.
Houghton Talent, Inc. sent out a congrats to Jason Mac for booking a role on the hit CW show, and People Store gave online kudos to Diany Rodriguez and April Billingsley for adding The Vampire Diaries to their resumes.
Mac and Rodriguez appear to be newbies, with each showing up in a few film shorts, but Billingsley has been making the rounds in a variety of B-films, including Hellphone, Andre the Butcher, and Chosen, where she had the interesting role of ‘Ritual Murder Victim.’ If any of the new faces are primed to be vamp chow, it’s Billingsley.
There are currently no details about what characters the trio will be playing, but I’d say we’re looking at a few walk-on parts that...
