Actor Grant Gustin wore the Flash suit for nine years as he starred as the titular character in The CW’s The Flash. A part of the Arrowverse series of TV shows, The Flash saw Barry Allen become the scarlet speedster after being struck by lightning in Central City. The series sees him fight various antagonists and also find the killer of his mother.
Though he was grateful for getting the opportunity to play the character, Gustin reportedly suffered while putting on the costume for the show. The Flash costume included a red one-piece suit and a face mask that covered most of his face. The actor mentioned how tough it was to get in and out of the suit and how he used to spend hours in the suit while filming.

The wait is finally over! Superhero fans just received their first look at the newest version of the titular character in James Gunn's "Superman" and, well, let's just put it this way: The reaction was as inevitable as the ol' Boy Scout saving cats from trees, turning green at the sight of kryptonite, and suddenly becoming incognito after slipping on a pair of glasses. Believe it or not, fans wasted no time at all taking to social media to voice their strong opinions on actor David Corenswet's new look as Clark Kent/Superman. Deciding which faction is right is probably as much a fool's errand as bad guys putting Lois Lane in danger while Metropolis' Man of Steel is on the lookout.

Before we can even get on the record, before that most familiar robot warning of “This meeting is being recorded,” Frederick Elmes is swapping stories about Albert Brooks. After greeting me by name, he mentions a news piece I had written––a blurb about the recent Brooks documentary Defending My Life. He worked with Brooks some, he says, as a camera operator, goes on to speak generously and thoughtfully about the atmosphere the director cultivated and maintained on set, what that meant in turn to his work as a cinematographer, to the cast and crew more generally. I am sitting and grinning like an idiot, not unlike an ancillary Brooks character––maybe Bruno Kirby in Modern Romance. It strikes me that this moment represents Elmes’ approach to tending the moving image: careful research, a focus on listening, the sharing of ideas stemming from observation, and an immediate instinct for collaborative thinking.

One man is preparing for a “quite unbelievable” Oscars night, having found himself nominated three times this year in the same category.
Special effects supervisor Neil Corbould is up against himself twice over, after being recognised in the category for his work on three movies – Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One, The Creator and Napoleon.
Corbould has two previous Oscars to his name – for Gladiator and Gravity. He told the BBC that this year’s close-to-hand competition could be “the kiss of death,” and said:
“I might have three seats and have to play musical chairs!” The best part? “I get invited to three different after parties.”
Corbould has been working in the film industry for nearly five decades, having followed his uncle into special effects. Colin Chilvers previously won an Oscar himself, for his work on the 1978 movie Superman. He also worked on The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), Condorman...

With growing popularity and influence in the spy/action genre, there are several Henry Cavill movies you probably forgot the actor starred in. The British actor is currently at the peak of his career, with several calls for him to be cast as the new James Bond. Cavill reportedly got passed over the last time for fellow English actor Daniel Craig because of his young age. However, the silver lining of the rejection opened up opportunities to play Superman (arguably the next best portrayal since Christopher Reeves). Henry Cavill is also known for roles like Charles Brandon in The Tudors (2007-2010),...

Nicki Minaj expressed displeasure with Megan Thee Stallion’s latest song, Hiss by releasing a diss track of her own.
In the song, Megan seems to target Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, a registered sex offender when she rapped a line about Megan’s Law, which mandates information disclosure about registered sex offenders by law enforcement.
“These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law/ I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start,” she said on the new song, continuing:
“B***h, you a p***y, never finna check me/ Every chance you get, bet your weak ass won’t address me,” the Stallion raps on Hiss.
Following the release of the song on January 26, Nicki Minaj went on Instagram Live to give a sneak peek of an unreleased track responding to Megan.

They are veterans of everything from Frasier to 3rd Rock from the Sun. As the duo make the leap into sci-fi with alien caper Jules, they reveal the secrets to a long career – and make a plea for smarter, quieter movies
Jane Curtin and Harriet Sansom Harris are best known in the UK for their roles in big 1990s sitcoms. Curtin was Mary Albright, sceptical professor and the object of John Lithgow’s affections in 3rd Rock from the Sun. Harris played Bebe Glazer, Frasier’s purringly machiavellian agent.
In the US, both are comedy veterans. Curtin, now 76, began in the first seasons of Saturday Night Live, then won back-to-back Emmys for divorcee double act Kate & Allie. In one of the most significant new castings post SAG-AFTRA trike, Superman: Legacy has found its Lex Luthor, with Nicholas Hoult in talks to star as the classic villain. No deal is done, but talks had been in the works before the strike.

James Gunn is writing and directing Superman: Legacy, the first feature from his and Peter Safran’s new DC Studios universe. David Corenswet will star as Clark Kent/Superman, while Rachel Brosnahan is playing Lois Lane, with the duo landing the roles in June after a lengthy casting search.

Refresh for chart…On the bright side for Independence Day bomb Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, its first five days at the box office of $82M aren’t as bad as Paramount/Skydance’s Terminator Genisys.
That sequel’s launch just prior to July 4, 2015 left a lot of methane in the air with $42.4M in its Wednesday to Sunday. The attempted Arnold Schwarzenegger comeback movie ended its domestic run at $89.7M, and Dial of Destiny will cross that mark before its first week is up.
Comparing July 4th tentpole hits and bombs can be tricky. Since the holiday skips around, sometimes studios launch on a Wednesday, sometimes a Friday so for the box office fanatics, everything is apples-to-oranges. The last time July 4th fell on a Tuesday was 2017 and 2006. In 2017, over the Friday-Tuesday frame, Illumination/Universal’s Despicable Me 3 led with $99M, followed by Sony/MRC’s Baby Driver with $29.97M.

Nicki Minaj is back with her first new song of 2023, “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” which seems to take a number of jabs at her one-time collaborator Megan Thee Stallion.
Rapping over a flip of Lumidee’s 2003 dancehall hit, “Never Leave You,” Nicki spits, “700 on ’em horses when we fixin’ to leave/ But I don’t fuck with horses since Christopher Reeves.” While those lyrics could be a coincidence, the Queens Mc later raps, “Dorito bitches mad that they not chose.” Last year, Megan created a branded track called “Flamin’ Hottie” for a Super Bowl Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and Doritos commercial.
In the most eye-raising line, Nicki raps, “That .40 cal a make ’em dance like a go-go,” which could be a reference to Tory Lanez allegedly shooting Megan in the foot while shouting, “Dance, bitch, dance!”

No other character in DC Comics and the entire Dceu is more famous and maybe more powerful than Superman. Since the world got to see Christopher Reeves play the character of Superman in the first movie adaptation of the comic in 1978, we’ve seen others try to embody it. Although a live-action Superman has not graced movie theaters in quite some time, the Kryptonian currently appears on the small screen in one of the better superhero TV shows on the air. Starring Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch, "Superman and Lois" is the latest attempt at adapting an iconic comic book character from The CW, but it confidently separates itself from other shows on the network. It feels like an entertaining blend of the unrelenting optimism of the Christopher Reeves films and the gritty, ultra-realism of Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel." However, unlike its predecessors, "Superman and Lois" heavily focus on the two sons...

Author Note: This original editorial was written in 2011, and several of the references are clearly dated, and more than that, in the past six years, my perspective has altered, changed, been tweaked,…, been re-examined (Shrugs) something to that effect- needless to say that this is the article written by a then-still young(er), still unknowing film school undergrad who had a more wide-eyed and bushy-tailed view of the subculture than I do now. My perspective as an outsider was more curious and intriguing at the time, and I think it’s important to have those kinds of initial thoughts documented, as much if not moreso than one’s current more-refined thoughts. While I will update portions of this article at the bottom of the page, I ask that you keep in mind, the perspective in which it was written, and forgive what are obvious dated references to the time period.

If you're a fan of Smallville, you're going to enjoy this fan-made 17 minute episode of a CW version of Justice League as it features Tom Welling as Superman. I'm currently in the middle of rewatching Smallville, and I've been reminded of how perfect Welling was as Clark Kent. He's my second favorite version of the character right under Christopher Reeves. It's really cool to see him alongside The CW's current version of The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl. It even features Green Lantern and Batman and Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor.
The video was created by UltraSargent and it came with the following synopsis:
"Over the years, Earth 1 has seen the rise of many powerful people. Green Arrow, The Flash, a strange visitor from another Earth: Supergirl... and now, Green Lantern and Batman.
