Yesterday we saw two terrible promo images from Terminator: Genisys, adorning the cover of the upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly. Today EW is back with some pictures to go with said cover story and there's a lot of standing around and mouth open screaming whilst gun-shooting and I doubt any of it is going to boost your confidence in the film after yesterday's unfortunately ugly first look. I finally broke down yesterday and read the "twist" and spoilery part of EW's piece, which went as follows: Twist No. 1c Sarah Connor isn't the innocent she was when Linda Hamilton first sported feathered hair and acid-washed jeans in the role. Nor is she Hamilton's steely zero body-fat warrior in 1991's T2. Rather, the mother of humanity's messiah was orphaned by a Terminator at age 9. Since then, she's been raised by (brace yourself) Schwarzenegger's Terminator--an older T-800 she calls "Pops"--who...

Tristan Risk, who wowed audiences in the role of Beatress in American Mary last year, will be bringing her fabulous talents to the set of director Ryan M. Andrews' newest project, Save Yourself, which begins filming soon.
Little Miss Risk can also be seen in the new short film Call Girl, the upcoming Fetish Factory and Fembot, as well as many other entertainingly twisted underground projects, leading to what is sure to be a huge and exciting year for her. Currently, she joins Jessica Cameron amongst a fully Canadian cast in Andrews' Save Yourself.
Andrews is completely stoked to be working with Risk. "The Soskas’ film American Mary was arguably the biggest indie film of last year, and Tristan Risk’s character, Beatress, was a stand-out performance," Andrews said. The already stellar cast of the upcoming film Save Yourself has added another great talent. One of my favorite indie actresses Tristan Risk has joined the project. Check out the full details below.
From The Press Release:
Director Ryan M. Andrews is excited to attach American Mary star Tristan Risk to a powerhouse ensemble cast of Canadian talent in Save Yourself, shooting this summer. Risk joins the previously announced cast of Jessica Cameron (Truth Or Dare), Ry Barrett (The Demolisher), Tianna Nori (Clean Break) and Sydney Kondruss (The Drownsman).
Regarding Risk, Andrews says; “The Soska’s film American Mary was arguably the biggest indie film of last year and Tristan Risk’s character ‘Beatrice’ was a stand out performance. The character was so unique and interesting. Risk played it perfectly, and to have a talent like her bringing her edge and attitude to Save Yourself is truly exciting.

If a popular geek-based sitcom can claim that it all started with a big bang in its theme song, then Buffy The Vampire Slayer's third season finale can suggest otherwise. For alas, the original Sunnydale High school is on the critical list, rendered unrecognisable and burnt out in a bid to rid the world of the antics of Mayor Wilkins once and for all. It'll take a good three years to put this to rights – quite what the Sunnydale High teachers are supposed to do now is open to speculation. Mr Beech will probably end up retiring and sniping at youngsters on the back seat of the bus. Mr Miller, the cheery Hangman beardy chap may ask out Miss Murray on a date and end up flying off to the Bahamas in a whirlwind romance. Sunnydale High itself though will be out of bounds for a spell – except to curtain cut quasi-army refugees,...

I've been humming and hawwing about how to approach the next couple of episodes for the third series of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. The issue that I sometimes encounter is that although some episodes aren't advertised as two or even three part stories, they still can be viewed as such. Bad Girls and Consequences are two such episodes that form a loose two-parter, and since they revolve around the same plot points and themes, I guessed it would make more sense to tackle these as one big review rather than two in which I repeat myself a lot.
Mind you, I've noticed that I've repeated myself in the past more times than I care to remember. How many times have I mentioned Dragon's Den or The Apprentice, for example?
Anyway, back to Buffyland. Bad Girls/Consequences marks the turning point of the third season with regards to the ongoing season arc.

Disney recently picked up a movie pitch that is based around the world of magic, and they hired a real illusionist named Derek DelGaudio to produce the film. The movie doesn't have a title yet, and all we know at this point is that it tackles "the history of magic’s last 100 years as seen through the eyes of one magician." The script for the film will be written by Keith Bunin.
DelGaudio is an award-winning magician who is known for his sleight of hand and card tricks. He's also an artist-in-residence at Walt Disney Imagineering so he already has a connection with the studio. He's the one that helped bring this project to life.
The movie will also be produced by Justin Springer, who worked on Tron: Legacy and is also developing a live-action version of Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, and Disney's remake of The Black Hole.

First Two Chapters of Survivor Max: “Meet Max, an 11-year old boy who was stuck in another boring day at school when the lock down alarm went off. They were under quarantine. He escaped and made it home, only to discover he’d have to find a way to survive this plague alone. Little did he know his father, his only parent, was among the infected. This Sunday, Once Upon a Time airs its midseason premiere. I got a chance to preview it and … it is truly terrific. Even for people who would never consider themselves “Oncers.” This episode takes a quality leap forward in almost every way.
It’s the best episode since Season 1′s “Hat Trick,” my favorite, and in fact for entirely different reasons it is equally as good. It moves along at quite a clip, with more twists and turns than I’ve ever seen on the show. It’s entertaining, well-written, engaging, jam-packed, and fun. Almost everyone brought their “A” game (I’m looking at you, Snow’s wig maker and costume designer).
This is the one to check out for anyone who’s considered watching Once but never got around to it, and in fact I recommend it to those of you who’ve watched an episode here and there but never really got it.

We told you last month about John Simm (the sometimes-bleached-blond Master in the rebooted Doctor Who) in BBC America‘s upcoming original series Intruders, from writer and executive producer Glen Morgan of The X-Files. Now comes word that Mira Sorvino and sci-fi familiar face James Frain (most recently of Grimm and Sleepy Hollow) will be joining him, as filming begins on this body-snatcher-type series:

Since 2010's Tron: Legacy he's kept to the more initimate likes of Country Strong, On The Road and Inside Llewyn Davis, but after three years of indie drama Garrett Hedlund is ready to flirt with the mainstream once again. It's just been revealed that he'll be playing Captain Hook in Pan, Joe Wright's extrapolation of the J. M. Barrie classic.Hook isn't the antagonist in this version of the story. The main villain duties belong to Blackbeard, for whom Hook was a boatswain according to Barrie. Blackbeard is either being played by Hugh Jackman or Javier Bardem, depending on what you read.Pan posits that Peter is an orphan transported to Neverland, where he stops growing up and becomes the saviour of the natives in an ongoing rebellion against pirate forces. He and Hook end up forming an alliance to take Blackbeard down (Mutiny, Mr Hook!). But later, of course,...

It’s that time of year, PopWatchers — when otherwise responsible parents camp out and expose their children to threateningly low temperatures in order to see questionable lip synching and larger-than-life icons on puppet strings. No, I’m not talking about a Today show performance by One Direction… but close! It’s the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!Like any good spectacular, there was no shortage of 11th-hour drama: High winds in New York City nearly scuttled this year’s march through Manhattan (for only the second time in 87 years), but justice — and giant balloons! – prevailed. So buckle in, turkeys, because...

There is no perhaps no movie that has been spoofed, homaged, parodied and referenced more times over the years than Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. A movie that is absolutely chock full of iconic and memorable imagery, from the creepy twins in the hallway to Jack’s total destruction of the bathroom door, The Shining has pretty much become the go-to horror movie to reference, and countless movies and TV shows over the years have done just that.
It’s also pretty common for commercials to reference Kubrick’s masterpiece, and that’s what we’re here to talk about today. Let’s take a look at a handful of the best!
