What just happened at the end of the Supergirl season 2 finale?

It's rare that I see something on one of the DC superhero TV shows that make me ask, "what the hell just happened" like the ending of the Supergirl season 2 finale, the wonderfully titled, Nevertheless, She Persisted. There are elements of DC Comics lore that I may not be intimately familiar with, and I certainly don't claim to have an encyclopedic knowledge of every bit of useless trivia these shows throw at us. But when we're talking about stuff related to Superman, Supergirl, and other Kryptonians, well, I practically majored in Kryptonese, and I'm usually on the ball.
But the Supergirl season 2 finale was a little different. Nevertheless, She Persisted was a fine hour of TV,...

The Superman family of titles have certainly been on a hot streak since Rebirth kicked off last summer as each have not only provided a fantastic read, but also charted new territory for the Man of Steel and his various supporting characters. One such ongoing that has caught many by surprise is that of Superwoman.
Starting off by throwing one of the most memorable curveballs in recent memory by killing off the New 52 version of Lois Lane and instead making Lana Lang the titular heroine, writer Phil Jimenez has succeeded in getting fans everywhere talking, if nothing else.
But as of April, it looks as though K. Perkins will be taking his spot, at least for one story arc. Having previously co-written some Supergirl stories with Mike Johnson and penned a contribution to a Superman/Wonder Woman Annual by her lonesome, it stands to reason that she’ll be comfortable working within this world.

Mike Johnson of PWinsider reports that word circulating backstage at the WWE live event at Madison Square Garden this weekend suggests Luke Harper’s injury lay-off could be lengthy.
Apparently the knee-injury is deemed far more severe than initially feared and it’s now looking like he’ll be out of action for up to six months.
The injury occurred during a dark match at this past Monday’s Raw in Philadelphia after the show went off the air. The bout was an eight-man tag featuring all four members of The Wyatt Family against Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler and Sami Zayn. After landing awkwardly, Harper tagged out of the bout and spent the rest of the match lying outside the ring being attended to.
WWE has yet to make any kind of official statement acknowledging the injury, which of course couldn’t come at a worse...

Rumours are rife that WWE could be set to resurrect the brand extension, with Shane McMahon leading one roster, and The Authority the other.
This would see the company return to the structure used between 2002-2011, where one crew of Superstars were exclusive to Raw, and the other to SmackDown.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson is reporting that the company has been holding internal discussions about bringing the brand split back in recent times, with Shane defeating The Undertaker at WrestleMania setting it all up. Johnson reports that Shane O’Mac would take control of Raw, and The Authority would take the reigns on SmackDown.
A brand shakeup is just what the company needs after a sustained period of horrible booking. Fastlane was so bad that #CancelWWENetwork returned from the dead, so the powers that be need to do some serious work to get bewildered fans back on side.

Ever since Shane McMahon returned to WWE TV on Raw and announced that he wanted control of the show, rumors have been swirling that the company is considering reinstituting a brand extension. PWInsider’s Mike Johnson is reporting that there have been internal talks in that direction for weeks, and while an event originally scheduled as “Monday Night Raw vs. WWE” on Ticketmaster has since been corrected, speculation is still running rampant.
The original brand extension, which ran from 2002 to 2011, was a success in some ways and a failure in others. At its best, the split gave each show a different feel and allowed undercard talent to rise to higher positions on each brand. At its worst, though, it treated Smackdown! as little more than a feeder system for Raw and lowered the importance of championships by introducing so many of them.

Following Shane McMahon’s carefully-worded demand for control of “Monday Night Raw,” rumors have surfaced that WWE is once again considering implementing a brand extension.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson is reporting that WWE has been hosting internal discussions regarding the reinstitution of the extension over the past few weeks. If Shane were to defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania and win control of Raw, that would leave Smackdown! open to being run by The Authority. The next logical step might be a division of talent.
There’s little concrete evidence to support the plan, save for a notice on Ticketmaster.com that the May 23 Raw in Baltimore, MD is being billed as “Monday Night Raw vs. WWE.” This could be indicative of an upcoming storyline, though not necessarily – for years after the WCW/Ecw Invasion angle ended, similar information would pop up advertising “WCW” tapings, only to change in time.

The biggest talk in the wrestling world as we head into this Sunday’s WWE Royal Rumble is whether or not former Iwgp Heavyweight Champion Aj Styles will be competing or appearing on the show. It has now been confirmed that Styles will in fact be in the building on Sunday evening.
According to a report from Mike Johnson at PWInsider, Styles is confirmed to attend the Rumble on Sunday in Orlando, Florida. It’s not known whether or not he will actually appear in front of the cameras, and it could indeed be a last minute decision type of a deal if he does compete in the Rumble, but Styles will be there backstage as a member of WWE for the very first time.
Styles is also reportedly booked for Monday’s Raw in Miami and Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings in Tampa.
While we can’t confirm 100% that...

As we gear up for this Sunday’s Royal Rumble, traditionally the third biggest event of the year for WWE, the wrestling world is abuzz on possible surprise entrants for the trademark battle royal. Especially interesting this year is the possibility of some big-name New Japan Pro Wrestling stars, rumored to be signing with WWE, entering the match.
It is indeed a possibility for two of them, while the other two have no possibility of appearing in front of the fans in Orlando at the show.
The biggest name people are wondering about is Aj Styles. The latest information going around is that WWE is thinking of holding Styles’ WWE debut off until next week’s Raw, rather than having him appear at the Rumble. This story was originally reported by F4WOnline, though Bryan Alvarez has said the decision does not have anything to do with WWE...

2014 was an incredibly rewarding year to be a comics reader. Veteran creators, like Grant Morrison, Kurt Busiek, and Matt Wagner continued to churn out some of the best work of their career while new creators, like Noelle Stevenson, Babs Tarr, and Tula Lotay had very strong starts. Marvel and DC published their fair share of events, including Original Sin, Multiversity, Spider-Verse, and seemingly a half-dozen Green Lantern crossovers, but they also took risks with new characters like Ms. Marvel, a mysterious female Thor, and the cast of Gotham Academy. Marvel and DC artists went far away from any semblance of a house style from the tapestry-like spreads of Elektra‘s Michael del Mundo, the Silver Age revivals of Silver Surfer‘s Mike Allred and She-Hulk‘s Javier Pulido, and the stylish character designs and Instagram-style layouts of Babs Tarr’s Batgirl among many others.

"We're traveling back in time to show Khan's rise to power and give fans their first look at the legendary Eugenics Wars. Idw Publishing and CBS Consumer Products announced that a new Star Trek comic book project is in development that will continue the journey of the characters on the Starship Enterprise. This is in addition to a sequel being developed, a new video game, and a possible animated series. Star Trek producer Bob Orci had this to say in a statement:
Movies cost money. Lots and lots of money. But comics give us unlimited budgets to take the crew of the Enterprise farther than they've ever been. Join us.
I like his reasoning, and I think Star Trek fans will invest in it for the new stories. I don't read comic books the way I used to. I am very selective on the comics I read these days, but I will probably give this a chance. What do you think?
