Anti-Life! I went into this sci-fi offering knowing nothing about it other than Bruce Willis stars in it, it’s set in space and Thomas Jane is in it too… when did he become Thomas? What was wrong with being Tom? I like Tom Jane as names go but now he seems to be Thomas, I must get to the bottom of this.
For me, Bruce Willis in space seems like an automatic “Yes, Please”. It’s safe to say I was excited to see this one but it is becoming more and more apparent Willis is absolutely in the straight to DVD era of his career. Though this is not a bad thing because this tends to be when you find some absolute gem projects...

"We're all that's left!" An official trailer has arrived for an intriguing indie sci-fi film titled 3022, the latest from producer / director John Suits. It's hard to tell if that title refers to the year, or something else. The film is about a crew of four astronauts stuck on a dying space station after Earth experiences a cataclysmic event. They watch this happen, then spend the rest of the time trying to figure out what to do and how to survive. Starring Omar Epps, with Kate Walsh, Miranda Cosgrove, Jorja Fox, Angus Macfadyen, and Audrey Looye. This really doesn't look too bad. Way too many lens flares being used, but otherwise seems like a much better take on the concept from The Cloverfield Project about people trapped in space when Earth suddenly goes bye bye. I really hope it's better! Check out the first look below. Here's the first official trailer...

Six weeks ago, Evan Glodell was in a funk. He’d made his filmmaking debut six years ago with micro-budget breakout “Bellflower,” in which he’d starred, written, directed, and produced through Coatwolf, his filmmaking collective. That film exploded at Sundance 2011, but now it seemed like all of his projects were stalled, again.
He wondered if he should have turned down an offer to wrangle VFX for Benh Zeitlin’s “Wendy,” another follow-up to a Sundance hit (“Beasts of the Southern Wild”) made by a filmmaking collective; unlike his Coatwolf projects, that one was successfully winding its way to completion.
Then suddenly, everything turned around. Coatwolf’s second film, “Chuck Hank and the San Diego Twins” produced, co-written, and starring Glodell, is close to locked and is ready for CAA to screen for buyers.
Their third, “Canary,” written, directed, produced, and starring Glodell, will hit the Cannes market to seek...

Hey there, creeps! Pull up a coffin and gather ’round, because die-rector John Suits and Producer Gabe Cowan just stepped across my dismal doorstep to chat up their latest flick Pandemic!
Famous Monsters. Welcome, welcome, my fiends; please take a load off… mind that throw pillow; it’s genuine werewolf hide. Anyway, let’s get down to brass tacks. Pandemic, how did that come to be?
John Suits. We were reading through a bunch of scripts looking for our next projects and came across Dustin T. Benson’s script, Viral (the name was later changed to Pandemic), which was on the 2012 Bloodlist. We loved the story and the idea of shooting a movie in the style of a First Person Shooter.
Gabe Cowan. At the time we were looking for something fun and different for John to dig his visual mind into. We’ve always been guys who like to try new and different things.

*an online screener of this film was provided by XLRator Media. Director: John Suits. Writers: Dustin T. Benson. Cast: Rachel Nichols, Missi Pyle, Alfie Allen, Mekhi Phifer and Paul Guilfoyle. There are a number of zombie themed films in the horror genre. Some are better than others. Writer Dustin T. Benson borrows some of the better ideas from films such as 28 Days Later (2002), Dawn of the Dead (2004) and [Rec] (2007). Meanwhile, director John Suits shows all of the action through helmet cams'. This helps amp up thrills in these scenes. However, the film lacks believability, with a four man crew entering into the zombie Heart of Darkness. A pretty standard zombie thriller, Pandemic strings together a number of thought experiments; the result is slightly flat. A doctor has escaped the ravages of a viral pandemic in New York. In Los Angeles, Lauren (Rachel Nichols) is not much better off. The violent infected are roaming the streets,...

I hate making claims like the one you’re about to read, but here goes nothing: Pandemic is the Alien Outpost of 2016 – assuredly my most inconsequential critical comparison. “Alien Outpost” will mean nothing to the hordes who never discovered its existence, and I’m confident that many of you might never have heard of a little first-person thriller called Pandemic until now. But that’s why I’m here! It’s my job to constantly chug away at a never-ending pile of horror’s lesser publicized efforts while insomnia sets in and the voices keep me company.

Shot in a first-person perspective, "Pandemic" is set in the near future, where a zombie virus of epic proportions has overtaken the planet. A team of scientists are sent in to a condemned city during the outbreak, as humanity falls to the virus, where they hope to find a cure and keeping the infected contained. Directed by John Suits, from a script penned by Dustin T. Benson, the film stars Alfie Allen, Mekhi Phifer, Missi Pyle, and Rachel Nichols as the team of scientists. An April 1 theatrical release date is set. Trailer (which looks like a first-person shooter video game) below:...

There's been a ton of films about apocalypses caused by diseases, but the new film "Pandemic" tries something a little different - shooting the entire film from a first-person Pov more akin to a video game.
Within the narrative Rachel Nichols plays a doctor who arrives in Los Angeles to stop the epidemic from taking over the world. Mekhi Phifer, Alfie Allen, Pat Healy, and Missi Pyle also star. John Suits helms "Pandemic" which hits cinemas April 1st and VOD on April 5th.

You are humanity's last stand. New Artists Alliance has debuted a trailer for the found footage horror film Pandemic, directed by John Suits. The film stars Rachel Nichols, Alfie Allen, Pat Healy, Missi Pyle and Mekhi Phifer. Taking advantage of the massive pop culture obsession with zombies, the film is about a "virus of epic proportions" that has taken over and turned most people into crazy, flesh-eating freaks. It's seems like it's a combination of Soderbergh's Contagion and Breck Eisner's The Crazies, and if that sounds like something you want to see, have at it. The action looks crazy & intense, though I'm not sure if I like the Pov angle (too much like a video game). That shot of them tossing the shotgun was pretty cool. Fire this up. Here's the first official trailer for John Suits' horror Pandemic, found directly on YouTube: Pandemic is set in the near future,...

Pandemic was recently at the European Film Market, in Berlin. And, the film will see several theatres, thanks to XLRator Media. The film takes place in a zombie apocalypse. The viewer is the protagonist, tasked with finding survivors. The films stars Rachel Nichols, Alfie Allen and Mekhi Phifer. And now, the film's first trailer is available here. To expand on the story, Lauren (Nichols) flies from New York to Los Angeles. She is tasked with finding uninfected survivors, in this chaotic city. However, millions of infected people lie in her way as a quarantine zone begins to fold. The film's first trailer is action packed. It puts the viewer into the film's starring role as the undead run down halls, tunnels and city streets. Full of gunfire, the film's trailer will get your heart pumping, with the film set to see theatres in early April. Actor Mekhi Phifer plays Gunner.

News reaches us this morning that this years Glasgow FrightFest has undergone a line-up change. Due to shifting release dates, the Stephen King shocker Cell is to be replaced with the World Premiere of John Suits’ Pandemic. And honestly, I for one couldn’t be happier.
Why? Well Pandemic director John Suits was also responsible for the 2014 FrightFest flick The Scribbler which, if you’re a long time reader of Nerdly, you’ll know that I gave a whopping 5 out of 5 to after its screening. And not only that, it was my number one movie choice for the Entire year… So to say I’m excited to see Suits’ next movie is something of an understatement.
Pandemic is a science fiction thriller featuring non-stop action from a first person shooter perspective as the all-star cast of Rachel Nichols (Star Trek, ‘Chicago Fire’), Mekhi Phifer (Insurgent, Divergent), MIssi Pyle (Gone Girl), Alfie Allen (John Wick,...

But I’m getting a bit ahead of myself… ya see, at first, The Scribbler plays out like a kind of murder mystery (albeit a surreal and ultra-stylized one), as Suki (Katie Cassidy), a young girl with multiple personalities, arrives at Juniper Tower, a boarding home for recently released mental patients—all of whom have their own unique quirks (think Arkham Asylum subdivided into low-rent housing).

Struggling to truly understand the equally powerful and painful emotions that drive distinctly different personalities to commit deceptive and at-times destructive acts towards themselves and those around them can be a harrowing process. When those clashingly diverse personalities are living within the same person, that battle can be even more difficult to overcome. But actress Katie Cassidy enthrallingly showcased the strong willpower her character, Suki, drew on in the new independent thriller, ‘The Scribbler,’ to overcome the conflicting personalities within her.
