On Thursday, March 14, Hans Zimmer hosted a live discussion, along with two of his closest collaborators, at The Whitby Hotel in New York City to talk about creating some of cinema’s most iconic scores and taking his music out of the studio and on tour with Hans Zimmer Live.
“It is my greatest passion and honor to receive directions from Hans,” said Loire Cotler, the vocalist behind both “Dune” soundtracks. “Musical directions, directions about character, directions about the sonic landscape, the atmosphere of the scene or of the emotion. It could be that Hans will say to me something like, ‘Imagine you’ve just swallowed sand.’ Then we are about to say goodbye on the phone and then Hans will say, ‘One more thing, go swallow sand.'” Zimmer immediately interjected, “Hang on, they need some context.”
“The first ‘Dune’ movie, we did during Covid. Loire was recording in her closet with her coat.

The main title credits to “Top Gun: Maverick” are both surprising and confusing: “Music by Harold Faltermeyer, Lady Gaga and Hans Zimmer. Score produced by Lorne Balfe.”
That may sound like a musical mess, but aside from Gaga, all the players have connections to the original “Top Gun” or each other through previous collaborations. Berlin-based Faltermeyer scored the original 1986 “Top Gun,” winning a Grammy for the instrumental “Top Gun Anthem,” while Zimmer scored four earlier Tom Cruise films including “Rain Man,” “Days of Thunder” and “Mission: Impossible II.”
The London-based Balfe has frequently collaborated with Zimmer on various scores (from “The Dark Knight” to “Dunkirk”), scored “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” for Cruise, and and is currently working with Cruise on “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning.” The Oscar- and multiple Grammy-winning Gaga penned the new movie’s “Hold My Hand,” already touted as an original song front-runner.

When it comes to playing the cello, Tina Guo is truly the real deal. She has been playing the instrument for most of her life, and it’s clear that she’s a natural. Her musical talents have earned her the respect and admiration of people all over the world, and she’s gotten the chance to be a part of some very cool projects. Most notably, she has provided music for a wide range of projects within the entertainment industry including Wonder Woman 1984 and the TV series His Dark Materials. You might feel the need to look up Scarborough Fair when looking at this article and you’ll likely find that it was an actual fair at one point but that it’s also a musical piece that Tina Guo and Leo Z decided to take on in this haunting rendition that is actually quite impressive. It’s times such as this that it’s pretty easy to wish that one was able to play an instrument with such passion and such obvious enjoyment as this since it looks as though these two are really getting into it and having a good time with

Warner Bros.’ much-buzzed-about release of the “Dune” official trailer last week represented a full circle moment for the relationship between Frank Herbert’s science-fiction novel and the rock band Pink Floyd. Back when Alejandro Jodorowsky was attempting to mount a “Dune” film adaptation in the 1970s, the director courted Pink Floyd to write the original score. The film failed to materialize, but Pink Floyd found its way back to “Dune,” as the trailer for Villeneuve’s upcoming tentpole featured a cover of the band’s song “Eclipse” from the 1973 album “Dark Side of the Moon.”
A new report from Variety confirms it was Hans Zimmer himself who was behind the reworking of “Eclipse” for the “Dune” trailer. The Oscar-winner has spent a majority of quarantine finishing the original score for “Dune,” and he took a break from the main score to oversee the recording of the Pink Floyd cover. Working...

The trailer for “Dune,” the upcoming adaptation of the Frank Herbert sci-fi classic, has introduced a 47-year-old Pink Floyd song to thousands, if not millions, of new listeners.
That director Denis Villeneuve chose “Eclipse,” from the English band’s 1973 “Dark Side of the Moon” album, as the key musical element in the three-minute video, came as a surprise – especially considering most trailers are not scored by the film’s actual composer, much less a specially tailored cover of a classic rock song. (“Eclipse” was written by Roger Waters whose publishing is with BMG.)
“Dune” composer Hans Zimmer confirmed that he conceived the new version for the trailer, although he declined Variety’s request for an interview about it. He did, however, tweet the film’s signature ad line and his excitement (“this is a childhood dream come true for me!”) on the morning of Sept. 9, the day the trailer dropped.

Many gamers would consider Final Fantasy VII to be one of the best, if not The best, of the entire series. It’s been difficult to really top the story that was told in part VII despite the fact that a few have come awfully close. Tina Guo however manages to nail the feeling of the game with her masterful rendition of this stunning piece. The visuals added in give a very interesting feel to the entire performance, and I really want to know when instruments started taking on the new look that hers has, or if this is just a

From TheGoodTheBadandTheUgly.Ca, take a look @ 'the good, the bad and the ugly' in director Patty Jenkins' comic book adaptation "Wonder Woman", starring Gal Gadot as 'Diana Of Themyscira':
Michael Stevens For The Good:
"'Merciful Minerva', it is true that many of us were rooting for dimpled Audrey Hepburn look-alike Gal Gadot, to give us a decent portrayal, in her first stand-alone 'Wonder Woman' feature...
"...after her exciting tease in 'Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice'.
"And Gadot does not disappoint, delivering the goods as a sweet and sexy, smirking action star...
"...in a 'girl power' film about 'love and compassion'...
"...despite piles of fresh-killed, lantern-jawed Ww I 'enemy' corpses, dying in a cold blue 'No Man's Land'...
...looking more like 'Saving Private Ryan', than the world of Lynda Carter.
"But Gadot makes the most of what she's got, with great leaps and bounds.

Maybe Tina Guo should have been the one to play the theme to World of Warcraft. The entire thing being done on a cello is simply amazing, and the cello she uses to start with is quite interesting to look at. Yes, she is very interesting to look at as well, not to mention beautiful, exotic, hot, and absolutely breathtaking. That is part of why I’m comfortable stating that this should been the bare bones of a World of Warcraft opening theme video of only because of the attention the game could have received from a very alluring woman in

The number of incredibly talented musicians covering movie, television, and video game themes is continuously growing. Solo artists and ensembles are not only covering said themes or songs from soundtracks but they are creating their own video interpretations. If I had to go with a “number one” in the genre right now it would have to be Tina Guo. She’s demonstrated that she not only has a big thing for geek culture but that her cello skills are second to none. Oh, and there’s one more thing. She’s incredibly attractive and not afraid to show that off. In her latest

Over the weekend I posted a video of Tina Guo doing a crazy electric cello sample of a new song from Wonder Woman. Needless to say it was awesome. I happen to be somewhat of a musician myself and unlike movie reboots or television show reboots I happen to like song reboots. While I’ve warmed up to movie reboots I have an extremely specific set of criteria for making them and let’s just say overall, I’m against them. With musical reboots it’s exciting because an old song could very well be better with some amplification. This is rarely the case

If you aren’t familiar with who Tina Guo is then you really should be. A few weeks ago I shared an amazing video of her covering Skyrim’s “Dragonborn” song on the cello, although she’s more well known for the work she did on Batman vs. Superman. Guo is up to her amazing musical tricks again and this time she’s taking on Wonder Woman. The electronic cellist who helmed Hans Zimmer’s powerful theme for Wonder Woman’s action scene in Batman v Superman, has teased an insanely awesome metal version of the song, making fans more pumped that she’ll be back for

I’ve noticed that over the last five years or so that the theme songs to video games have risen up a few notches. I don’t necessarily think that the songs themselves are much better, but what people are doing with these songs? That’s another story. Classically trained musicians are not only doing their own versions of these songs but they’re actually making high production videos of their renditions. I personally think it’s fantastic. The latest one of note comes from cellist Tina Guo. In the video you are about to see, Tina does a beautiful cello cover of the Dragonborn

With the recent reveal of Mera still fresh in our memories, director Zack Snyder is not one to rest on his laurels and has today Tweeted a new look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in his upcoming Justice League film.
Although the new photo doesn’t reveal anything about the movie’s plot, we can likely all agree that it’s always good to see more of DC’s most iconic heroine. And, if more images of Superman, Batman, The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg are soon to follow, we certainly won’t complain.
Due to the fact that Wonder Woman is mostly draped in shadow, it’s hard to pick up any details and may cause some fans to complain about Snyder releasing photos with dark filters and such as opposed to, say, that bright, stylish poster that everyone applauded this past summer. Still, it’s hard to look...

We have seen shows come and go for a whole lot of reasons. Sometimes the general consensus deems it justified, sometimes not. Although it’s a mystery why Dominion was cancelled before the final showdown with Lucifer, it appears there are those out there who are not terribly happy about the situation.
Regardless of the reasons, the artists involved did a fantastic job with the show. I’m happy to present two very well-polished, exclusive videos featuring Bill Brown and virtuoso cellist Tina Guo in the studio as they brought some gorgeous music to the series. Perhaps if enough people complain, there could be a chance to reincarnate this series and bring back the end of the world.
