Documentary filmmakers, Adam Punzano and Joe Tucker, are seeking funds to complete their documentary on the indigenous peoples of the Ecuadorian Amazon. The crowdfunding campaign aims to raise $10,000 in order to take the documentary through editing and post-production, and to distribute it as widely as possible. The film, 'Reimagining Progress- Voices from the Ecuadorian Amazon', will be a feature-length documentary. The documentary footage was filmed alongside the Sapara and Kichwa communities of the Ecuadorian Amazon. The film aims to deliver their urgent and thought-provoking messages to the international community. Fantastic Fest Announces List Of Short Films which includes must sees ‘Cop Hard’ and ‘Infernal Nuns’
The complete list of short films screening at Fantastic Fest has been announced. Unfortunatly as with most short films, there isn’t too much known about many of these. I know Infernal Nuns recieved a lot of praise from various blogs after it screened at Fantasia and Cop Hard is based on the popular web series, but apart from that, I’m pretty much in the dark. What I do know is that sometimes the short films are more rewarding than some features. Remember folks, some of these directors may go on to do some very big things in the near future, so try and check them out. Here is the press release.

Anybody can tell a good tale, spin a quality yarn so to speak, if given an hour and a half. But to accomplish that same feat in 15 minutes or so, now that's doing something. And Fantastic Fest has announced the lineup of 50 films doing just that for this year's program.
The Fantastic Fest shorts will be presented during the festival, which runs September 22-29 in Austin, Texas. With running times as long as thirty minutes and a short as two, and coming from over a dozen countries, the films look as diverse as they will be entertaining. Take a gander at the huge list complied below, and for those of you lucky enough to be in the great state of Texas during the fest, we envy you.

Persons Unknown star Jason Wiles has revealed that he knows no more about his character than the audience does. The actor told TV Guide that he has no insider knowledge as to the true nature of his character Joe Tucker on the NBC drama. "He's an enigma... we're starting to learn a little about him, but this guy is a mess," he said. Wiles previously played Officer Maurice 'Bosco' Boscorelli in NBC cop drama Third Watch. "That was the best job ever," (more)...

The Cube reloaded?
For those who have never seen it “The Cube” and its sequel “Cube 2: Hypercube” are about a group of people who find themselves trapped in a crazed maze of booby trapped rooms with absolutely no memory of how they arrived there. The premise is basically for them to utilize each of their individual skills to their advantage to somehow make it out alive. For those ready to explore the mysteries of “Persons Unknown” these movies make a good primer for what we are likely to see over the next 13 episodes. With that in mind, let the bafflement begin:

Chicago – Written by the man who gave the world Keyser Soze in his Oscar-winning script for “The Usual Suspects,” NBC’s “Persons Unknown” is a summer mystery mini-series not unlike last year’s “Harper’s Island” or a mini-“Lost” in that the team behind it want people talking about the questions of the show over summer barbecues. NBC is in such dire straits and the show is just flawed enough that it’s hard to believe that “Persons Unknown” will become a phenomenon but it is likely to be a satisfying cult hit for those who seek it out.
Television Rating: 3.5/5.0
It’s very difficult to judge a mystery series on the basis of one episode, but the set-up for “Persons Unknown” is undeniably intriguing. A small group of seemingly very different people wake up in an old-fashioned hotel. They have no memory of how they got there and...

NBC has a mystery on its hands. Seven people are inexplicably abducted and transported to a ghost town in the new summer series 'Persons Unknown' (Mon., June 7 at 10Pm Et). They have no idea what they're doing there or how they're connected, but they have 13 episodes to figure it out.
Among those unlucky captives is veteran actor Jason Wiles of 'Third Watch' fame. Wiles plays Joe Tucker, a mysterious character (obviously) who becomes the leader of the pack. Not much is being realized about this new mystery series, but one thing is clear: It's intense.
Wiles chatted with TV Squad about his new role, keeping the mood light on the intense set and why he's always in dramatic roles.

My only issue with NBC’s “Persons Unknown” pilot? It was too short! But hey, that’s why they call it a pilot, right? Check out our review of the pilot episode here. In the meantime, here’s a minute long behind-the-scenes look at the show. As expected, while the pilot sets up the premise, there are plenty of action in later episodes. From Academy Award-winning writer Christopher McQuarrie (“The Usual Suspects”) and executive producers Heather McQuarrie and Rémi Aubuchon comes “Persons Unknown,” a one-hour mystery drama in which a group of seven strangers must come together to solve the puzzle of their lives. All of them have been taken from their everyday lives and have arrived in a deserted town with no recollection of how they got there. The eclectic group of strangers are Charlie Morse (Alan Ruck, “Spin City”); Janet Cooper (Daisy Betts, “Shutter”); Joe Tucker (Jason Wiles,...
