A year and a half ago, it was announced that Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner – who both have experience working in the Scream franchise, as Fitzgerald was in the Scream TV series and Gallner appeared in the 2022 Scream movie – were set to star in the “cat and mouse thriller” Strange Darling. Now we know when we’re going to have a chance to see this movie, as Variety has confirmed that veteran producer Bob Yari’s new company Magenta Light Studios has secured the U.S. distribution rights to the film and they’re planning to give it a wide theatrical release on August 23rd.
Plot details on this thriller are being kept under wraps, and Variety notes that reviews from audience members who saw the movie at Fantastic Fest last year ” hint that the film works best with as little information as possible going in.” Apparently it has something...

This article contains spoilers for Better Call Saul season 5 but not season 6.
Even though Better Call Saul aired its series finale almost a year ago now, many fans of the show don’t watch until it premieres on Netflix rather than AMC. In keeping tradition with the streamer’s usual release schedule, the sixth season of creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould’s Breaking Bad spinoff finally came out this April, approximately one year after the first episode was seen on cable. That means an entirely new audience is ready to experience the climax of this legendary drama, and they may have forgotten the main plot events and themes exhibited during the penultimate fifth season. No reason to fret, friends! We’re here to help you take a time machine back to Albuquerque circa 2004. Let’s recap the fifth season:

Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner both have experience working in the Scream franchise. Now Fitzgerald and Gallner are working together, as they’re both cast members in the upcoming “cat and mouse thriller” Strange Darling.

Deadline reports that Fitzgerald and Gallner were joined in the cast of Strange Darling by Oscar nominee Barbara Hershey (The Entity) and Emmy nominee Ed Begley Jr. (Better Call Saul). According to IMDb, the cast of the film also features Madisen Beaty (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood...

From the very first episode of "Better Call Saul," viewers were primed to notice points of connection between the prequel and its parent series. If Bob Odenkirk's Jimmy McGill so much as winked a certain way, "Breaking Bad" fans were eager to analyze it. Is this the moment? Is he becoming Saul Goodman in front of our eyes? When a scene of transformation finally did come, it was much later than anyone expected, but series creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould made sure to sprinkle in plenty of "Breaking Bad" connections in the meantime.
The series also doled out its cameos slowly and surely, including crossover characters only when it made sense for Jimmy's story and the parallel origin stories of Gus (Giancarlo Esposito) and Mike (Jonathan Banks). So when Walter White's brother-in-law Hank Schrader (Dean Norris) and his partner Steven Gomez (Steven Michael Quezada) appeared in the third...

Major spoilers for the final episode of "Better Call Saul" follow.
This might be a controversial opinion, but the series finale of "Breaking Bad," appropriately titled "Felina," has one major flaw. While it certainly gave closure to the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), egregious fanservice helped pave that way. The involvement of Badger (Matt Jones) and Skinny Pete (Charles Baker) in his final act of revenge against the Schwartzs (Adam Godley and Jessica Hecht) always felt a bit contrived, like the point of the scene was to shoehorn in these characters first in order to clumsily tie up loose ends. It's a bit of a tedious scene in an episode that is otherwise wonderfully paced and executed.
"Better Call Saul's" finale, "Saul Gone," did have its fair share of cameos and surprise appearances, but it didn't fall into that same fanservice trap as "Felina" did. The appearances of...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched the series finale of “Better Call Saul” Season 6, titled “Saul Gone.”
More than seven years after “Better Call Saul” began, and 13 years after Bob Odenkirk first popped up as the sleazy lawyer in “Breaking Bad,” his story has come to a close — and Saul is behind bars.
After a little United States v. Saul Goodman legal action, the now-reformed Jimmy McGill ended up with 86 years in prison as Walter White’s “indispensable” criminal lawyer. After going down a dark path the past few seasons, Saul finally turned a corner and confessed to all of his crimes, clearing Kim Wexler’s (Rhea Seehorn) name.
So how did we get to this (somewhat) happy ending, at least by “Breaking Bad” standards? The episode started with a flashback to “Better Call Saul” Season 5, Episode 8, where Saul and Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) are trapped in the desert carrying 7 million.

This Better Call Saul article contains spoilers for season 6 episode 11.
Ever since Breaking Bad’s preantepenultimate episode “To’hajiilee” aired in 2013, fans have been wondering whether Saul Goodman’s lovable bodyguard, Huell Babineaux (Lavell Crawford) got away from the criminal underworld to live a better life. The last time we saw the pick-pocketing mastermind, he was told by Hank Schrader and Steve Gomez (Dean Norris and Steven Michael Quezada) to stay put in a DEA safehouse after interrogating him on the location of Walter White (Bryan Cranston).
The show leaves Huell sitting anxiously all alone in the room, never to be touched upon again in the ensuing three episodes of the show. And why would they? Huell is a minor character, and there was no time to give him any closure. The script has to be as lean as possible, and that doesn’t include putting a bow on the stories of bit parts.

Like many prequel stories, the writers of "Better Call Saul" simply couldn't resist packing in all sorts of hilarious references and Easter eggs over the years that "Breaking Bad" fans would immediately recognize. The noxious Ken Wins ending up a victim of Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) and Kim Wexler's (Rhea Seehorn) schemes, Hank Schrader (Dean Norris) and Steven Gomez (Steven Michael Quezada) swooping in with all their DEA bluster, and even "Spooge" making an unexpected appearance earlier this season were only a few of the more notable highlights -- not to mention the reappearance of a certain pair of meth cooks. It’s been two years since the Season 5 finale of “Better Call Saul,” leaving fans wondering what’s in store for the beloved crooked lawyer.
As Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) opens shop as Saul Goodman, Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) hints at her own breaking bad moment, with Howard Hamlin (Patrick Fabian) in her crosshairs. Meanwhile, Nacho Varga (Michael Mando) is on the run after playing a part in Gus Fring’s (Giancarlo Esposito) assassination attempt on Lalo Salamanca (Tony Dalton). Little do they know, Lalo lives to see another day after picking off Gus’ hitmen one by one in Terminator-like fashion. Meanwhile, a war is brewing between Gus and the Salamancas, with the fates of Kim and Nacho — both absent from the future events of “Breaking Bad” — looming ahead.
Here are the major developments from Season 5 that you need to know before the final season premieres.

Two-year pauses are always tricky for TV shows. Sometimes, they’re much-needed breaks so that a series’ creative team can gear up for another round of storytelling. In other cases, it’s a surefire opportunity to lose momentum.
Of course, “Better Call Saul,” like many of the other benchmark television dramas currently airing, had to put plans on hold when productions around the world went dark in 2020. As the show’s most recent season was airing, it would be almost another year entirely before “Better Call Saul” went back to Albuquerque to finish the connective tissue between it and its predecessor, “Breaking Bad.”
On the precipice of its final run of 13 episodes, the show’s first five seasons are now available on both AMC+ and Netflix. But in case you need a quick refresher and this didn’t get you quite far enough, here’s a pair of backward and...

Walt and Jesse are coming back.
After years of fielding questions about an appearance by the “Breaking Bad” characters on the prequel series “Better Call Saul,” AMC confirmed on Saturday night that Cranston and Paul will indeed be back in some capacity in the upcoming final season of the Bob Odenkirk-fronted show. “Better Call Saul” co-creator Peter Gould first made the announcement on a Paley Fest panel on Saturday night.
Further details about Cranston and Paul’s appearance were not revealed.
The actors first returned to the roles of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in the 2019 Netflix sequel film “El Camino,” which was written and directed by “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan and picked up immediately after the “Breaking Bad” finale left off, providing additional closure to Jesse Pinkman’s arc.

We haven’t seen the last of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.
“Better Call Saul” co-creator Peter Gould has officially confirmed that Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul will guest star in the final season of the “Breaking Bad” spinoff.
Gould announced the news Saturday at PaleyFest LA on a “Better Call Saul” panel moderated by Variety television editor Michael Schneider, though Gould was tight-lipped on exactly when Cranston and Paul will show up or in what capacity.
“I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say the first question we had when we started the show was, ‘Are we gonna see Walt and Jesse on the show?’ Instead of evading, I’ll just say yeah,” Gould said on the panel. “How or the circumstances or anything, you’ll just have to discover that for yourself, but I have to say that’s one of many...

The question of whether Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul would appear in “Better Call Saul” has loomed over the prequel series ever since its inception. And while co-creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould have remained coy about the possibility of that crossover, the masterminds behind “Better Call Saul” told Variety at the final season premiere that the worlds do, indeed, crossover.
As Gilligan said, “It would be a damn shame if the show ended without [Cranston and Paul] appearing, would it not?” He later added, “You heard it here first.”
With its sixth and final season premiering on April 18, “Better Call Saul” takes place before the events of “Breaking Bad.” But as the hit AMC spinoff series nears the timeline of its predecessor, Gould says, “If it’s ever going to happen, this is when these two shows start crossing over.”

The last ride of Jimmy McGill is almost upon us. Better Call Saul season 6 will be the show’s last season and it will once and for all showcase the final transition of loveable up-and-coming lawyer Jimmy McGill into scummy criminal (emphasis on criminal) lawyer Saul Goodman. If Breaking Bad was the story of one man’s transition from Mr. Chips to Scarface, Better Call Saul is the story of one man caught between the idealized version of himself that he knows he could be and the less than reputable version of himself the world sees him as. This season, the idealized version will lose the fight, but he’ll surely go down swinging.
In official statement, showrunner Peter Gould had this to say about the final season of Better Call Saul:

Ever since Better Call Saul premiered on AMC in 2015, fans of the Breaking Bad spinoff have been clamoring for a cameo appearance from the original show’s two main characters, Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul). The actors themselves have been asked about it seemingly the entire duration of the prequel series’ run. Both Cranston and Paul have been game to join the cast for a short appearance, but the years just keep going by without any tangible proof that anything will come to fruition.
Anticipation for their arrival has continued to boil over as other characters from Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould’s universe have shown up on screen. “Breaking Bad” scored seven nominations in Best Drama Supporting Actor during its run, but sadly none of them were for Dean Norris. He may finally get recognized for his portrayal of Hank Schrader this year in another category and via a similar path of that of another star in the “Breaking Bad”-verse.
Norris is contending in Best Drama Guest Actor after reprising Hank in two episodes of “Better Call Saul” this season — the first time we’ve seen Hank back in the flesh since his gut-wrenching death after that iconic line — “My name is Asac Schrader, and you can go f— yourself” in the iconic “Breaking Bad” episode “Ozymandias.” If he makes it in, it would not be unlike Michael McKean, who was snubbed in supporting in 2017 for the third and his final season of “Better Call Saul,” in which Chuck dies, but bagged a guest bid last year...

Dean Norris knew that Hank Schrader’s appearance on the latest episode of “Better Call Saul” would be a crowd-pleaser, but that doesn’t mean the return of everyone’s favorite New Mexico DEA agent was a needless cameo.
Norris, who portrayed Hank in all five seasons of “Breaking Bad,” made his grand “Better Call Saul” entrance in the fifth season’s third episode, where he interrogated drug dealer Domingo “Krazy-8” Molina and met Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) for the first time. The actor discussed his return to Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould’s crime-addled New Mexico world in an Entertainment Weekly interview on Tuesday and noted he wouldn’t have returned to the series if there wasn’t a genuine storytelling reason for him to do so.

The following contains spoilers for Better Call Saul season 5 episode 3.
In the middle of a mostly gloomy episode of Better Call Saul “The Guy For This,” which solidifies Jimmy’s involvement with the Salamancas and finds Kim playing the villain in a corporate lawsuit, a ray of sunshine appears. Or perhaps a ray of sunshine is reflected off of one returning hero’s chrome dome. The DEA’s Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Hank Schrader, has reentered the Breaking Bad universe with his ever-reliable partner Steve Gomez in tow. It’s Dean Norris and Steven Michael Quezada’s first official appearances in the prequel series and their first time reprising their characters since their deaths in “Ozymandias.”

Some very familiar faces popped back up in Albuquerque on Monday’s “Better Call Saul,” which showed the first what would become many legal tussles between Saul Goodman and Hank Schrader.
Showrunner Peter Gould explained that they needed to find someone who would make Bob Odenkirk’s nascent criminal lawyer up his game. And who better than New Mexico’s most famous DEA agents?
“We knew that there would be a scene where Jimmy/Saul tangles with some very smart law enforcement people who are worthy opponents,” Gould told TheWrap. “As soon as we realized that that was the next natural thing to happen, we got very excited and said wow wouldn’t it be amazing if this was Hank and Gomez.”

Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman spirals deeper into the criminal underbelly of Albuquerque in the new trailer for Season Five of Better Call Saul.
In classic Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul fashion, the new clip is set to Jim Reeves’ wholesome country tune, “Welcome to My World,” although the montage it soundtracks is decisively gritty. Among the scenes the trailer teases is a nerve-wracking meeting with Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), a sudden kiss between Saul (Bob Odenkirk) and Kim (Rhea Seehorn) and a one-sided street brawl that finds Mike (Jonathan Banks...

The latest trailer for “Better Call Saul,” AMC’s prequel to Vince Gilligan’s “Breaking Bad,” gives us the first (albeit very short) look at the return of Dean Norris’ Hank Schrader.
For those who may not remember, Schrader was the DEA agent who also happens to be the brother-in-law of Bryan Cranston’s Walter White. During the Television Critics Association press tour, AMC announced that Norris, along with Steven Michael Quezada, who played Schrader’s partner, Steve Gomez, would make an appearance during the fifth season.
The inclusion of the characters makes sense considering the two’s lengthy history will Bob Odenkirk’s Saul Goodman on “Breaking Bad.”

‘Better Call Saul’ renewed for sixth and final season — and 2 of your ‘Breaking Bad’ faves are back!
“Better Call Saul” has been renewed for a sixth and final season, showrunner and executive producer Peter Gould announced at Thursday’s Television Critics Association winter press tour.
“From the beginning … I think all our hopes and dream was be able to tell the whole story of this story of this guy, Jimmy McGill [Bob Odenkirk] and Mike Ehrmantraut [Jonathan Banks] and Kim Wexler [Rhea Seehorn], and tell this story and make it a complete story from beginning to end. And I’m happy to be able to say that we’re going to be able to do that — because thank God for AMC and Sony — because they picked us up for Season 6,” Gould said during the show’s panel.
The final season will consist of 13 episodes, a bump up from the show’s usual count of 10 per season, and will air in 2021. Season 5 premieres next month.

“Better Call Saul” will last exactly one episode longer than its predecessor. Showrunner and executive producer Peter Gould announced from the TCA stage that AMC had ordered a sixth and final season of the critical favorite. The 13-episode Season 6 will put “Better Call Saul’s” episode total at 63, whereas “Breaking Bad” ran for 62 award-winning episodes.
“When we started, what we wanted to do is tell the complete story. I’m happy to be able to say we’re going to be able to do that,” Gould said. “Thank God for AMC and Sony, we’ve been picked up for Season 6. […] It’s going to be 13 episodes, and I was so proud to be a part of ‘Breaking Bad’ because I felt that Vince [Gilligan] and the rest of us managed to stick the landing on those 62 episodes. And we’re going to try like hell to stick the landing on these 63 episodes.

The final season will be 13 episodes and will go into production later this year and air in 2021. News that the “Breaking Bad” spinoff is coming to an end was announced by showrunner Peter Gould and co-creator Vince Gilligan at the show’s Television Critics’ Association winter press tour panel. The news comes just over a month before the season 5 premiere on Feb. 23.
“From day one of ‘Better Call Saul,’ my dream was to tell the complete story of our complicated and compromised hero, Jimmy McGill – now AMC and Sony are making that dream come true,” said Gould. “We couldn’t be more grateful to the fans and critics who are making this journey possible. Next month we start work on the sixth and final season — we’re going to do our damnedest to stick the landing.

Aaron Paul returns as Jesse Pinkman in the “Breaking Bad” follow-up film, “El Camino,” which debuts on Netflix this Friday.
The film, which was written and directed by “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan, takes place after the events of the AMC series, which aired its final episode in 2013. The synopsis of the film reads: “In the wake of his dramatic escape from captivity, Jesse must come to terms with his past in order to forge some kind of future.”
Not much is known about the film other than along with Paul, Charles Baker and Matt Jones will return as Skinny Pete and Badger, respectively. Before the film lands on Netflix — and theaters — this weekend, we figured you needed a quick refresher on where we left Pinkman at the end of “Breaking Bad.”

The story of one of the most beloved TV dramas continues. After months of rumors, Netflix has confirmed that a Breaking Bad continuation movie, titled El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, will debut on the streaming service on October 11th.
Aaron Paul returns as Jesse Pinkman and it sounds like the movie picks up where the AMC TV show left off. At the end of Breaking Bad, Jesse made his dramatic escape from captivity at the Nazi compound and in the movie, must now come to terms with his past while figuring out his future. Will he remain free?
It's unclear exactly who else from the show will be reprising their roles. Charles Baker, who plays Skinny Pete, appears in the trailer. Photos of Dean Norris and Steven Michael Quezada, whose Hank and Gomez characters met their demises in the series, are seen on...

As of now, what little we know about Vince Gilligan’s planned “Breaking Bad” movie suggests it will focus on Walter White’s reluctant partner-in-crime, Jesse Pinkman. And Aaron Paul certainly sounds up for revisiting the role.
In November 2013, Gilligan surmised in an interview with GQ that Jesse’s troubles may not have ended with the show’s finale. The “Breaking Bad” creator said that while he personally hopes that Jesse found peace after the show, he believed the “most likely outcome” for Jesse won’t be good.
Why do we think the “Breaking Bad” movie will focus on Jesse? In part because of the Albuquerque Journal‘s summary of the plot when it broke news of the film Tuesday. It said the “Breaking Bad” movie will “track the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom.”

Pioneering the new genre of greeting card comedy noir, Netflix has released a trailer for Bob Odenkirk’s new dark comedy Girlfriend’s Day. The film sees Odenkirk play a down-on-his luck penner of smarmy odes to mothers, fathers, and all the other standard recipients of Hallmark’s industrially packaged warmth, whose life takes a turn for the surreal when the government announces a greeting card contest for a new holiday, and all the best entrants wind up dead.
Besides the pleasure of Odenkirk as a deadpan, bumfight-loving former romantic, Girlfriend’s Day is stuffed with recognizable comedy names. Andy Richter, June Diane Raphael, Natasha Lyonne, Toby Huss, and even Odenkirk’s old Breaking Bad co-star Steven Michael Quezada all stop by to turn his hapless protagonist’s life into a saccharine-tinged hell. Girlfriend’s Day debuts (of course) on Valentine’s Day, February 14.

Like The Marine franchise, which featured a new WWE superstar in the lead role in each consecutive film, The Condemned 2 sees Randy Orton (who also took over the lead from John Cena for 12 Rounds 2) stars as bounty hunter turned hunted man, Will Tanner; and – like Orton’s 12 Rounds 2 – this film pales in comparison to the original, abandoning everything that made that Running Man-esque action film so much fun.
The Condemned was one of WWE Studios earliest – and best received – movies, alongside The Marine and See No Evil. And whilst those two films have already had sequels, it’s taken almost ten years for someone to put together a sequel to the Stone Cold Steve Austin starring original.

Actor Steven Michael Quezada, better known as DEA Agent Steven Gomez from Breaking Bad, is following in the footsteps of many celebrities before him, when he announced his candidacy for the office of County Commissioner of Albuquerque for 2016. He's hoping to jump-start the Democratic party in New Mexico, which lost the governorship and the House in 2014. "I think I bring a new face to the Democratic Party," Quezada, a member of the school board, told the AP. "We need to reach out to our young people — the young Chicanos, the young Latinos — and get them involved in this process and let them know this is important." As part of his campaign platform, he will no doubt also tell kids not to cook meth in an Rv and become drug kingpins.
