Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the title of the new Terminator movie in style today (August 6), by posting a photo on Instagram of a director's chair with the film's name emblazoned across the back.
Perhaps the most noteworthy aspect of the title is its unusual spelling, with the next instalment named Terminator Genisys.
Twitter users have been quick to make their feelings on the title known, with some mocking the 'innovative' spelling of the word 'genesis':

Everyone's favourite marmalade-loving Peruvian bear Paddington will soon be returning for his own feature film, but before that he's made a splash in his very own sinister internet meme.
Creepy Paddington on Tumblr
#CreepyPaddington, which sprung from the recently-released publicity still covering the above video, plants Paddington into some classic horror movies and the end result is something quite terrifying. We've trawled through Twitter to pick out some of the best ones. Please excuse us while we experience a waking nightmare...
"Red rum, red rum!" Paddington goes loco in The Shining
This #CreepyPaddington meme is hilarious.. and quietly destroying my childhood memories. http://t.co/hx0qF6cwIH pic.twitter.com/EbDUIZtaJJ

Would The Exorcist still be the most terrifying film ever made if Paddington played Father Merrin?

Note — we couldn’t resist climbing onto the #creepypaddington bandwagon, so we’ve added some Paddingtons of our own.
You know Paddington as a sweet, cuddly, duffle-coat-clad bear who spends his time eating marmalade sandwiches and being adorable. But when a still from a new Paddington Bear film appeared online Tuesday, Twitter users saw a whole new side of the beast.
Enter #creepypaddington, the best image mash-up game since sad Kanye. Twitter users put the affable bear into horror scenes and spectacles, somehow managing to make him even more creepy. See our favorites below. (Warning: gore; bears.)

Hordes of expectant fans lined the streets this afternoon as the Divergent Premiere took place in London’s Leicester Square.
The cast and crew of the movie were present to promote their movie based on the books by Veronica Roth, including Neil Burger, Kate Winslet, Theo James, Veronica Roth, Shailene Woodley and Ben Lloyd-Hughes. The fact that the two sequels to the film have already been greenlit by the studios before the first had even entered cinemas gives you an indication of the rabid fanbase Roth’s books have.
Andrew Jones and Amon Warmann took to the red carpet with vim and fortitude to interview those present. Let’s look at them working, shall we?

As James Nesbitt, the host of this year’s Empire Awards, said this evening: ‘We don’t need Oscars – they’re just for phonies and scamps.’ That’s the sort of sentiment going around a particular corner of the capital tonight as the magazine hosts its awards ceremony in its 25th year of existence.
As you’d expect there was a grand turnout this evening at The Grovsner as the great and the good waltzed up red carpets to look glamorous and uncertain as to where the entrance is. Watlzing tonight were Messrs. Cruise and Schwarzenegger, Margot Robbie and Hayley Attwell as well as many of our favourites.
Amon Warmann and Andrew Jones were our eyes, ears and question-asking voices on the red carpet, let’s see them at work shall we?

A few days ago, we asked the online film community to rack their brains and submit their Top 10 films of 2013 for our annual poll. An incredible 94 movie bloggers answered the call, and we have sorted through the deluge of entries to find out what a handful of online journalists have deemed the best films of the year.
If you have a favourite journalist – or would like to follow other like-minded film fanatics through the power of the internet – you can find the blogger’s twitter account and website above their individual lists, which were compiled in no particular order and only take UK release dates into account. These various entries were then collated to bring about the definitive top 10. Have a look at the results below:

Plein Soleil
Film
Plein Soleil was the first adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s The Talented Mr Ripley, and Alain Delon’s star-making turn as the beautiful and charming villain Tom Ripley is arguably the best of the four on screen portrayals of the amoral social climber.
Ripley is sent to Italy to persuade the playboy son of an American millionaire to return home to San Francisco, but when it becomes apparent that Phillipe has no intention of going home so that Ripley can collect his fee, Ripley decides that actually becoming Phillipe, and gaining control of his considerable assets, is a much better prospect. Gradually ingratiating himself with the playboy and his fiancé Marge (although she is annoyed with their boyish camaraderie and is dubious about Ripley), Ripley painstakingly constructs his imitation of Phillipe while quietly engineering the opportunity to make him disappear, the final step...

Not surprisingly Director Andrew Jones has no directing experience except with a pair of poorly rated dramas. Yet there plenty of weak points in this one beyond the directing. Among others is a cast of relative unknowns. Joining him from the UK for 11 days of filming (yes the entire movie only had 11 days of filming) in Long Island is Indy horror actress Eileen Daly (Razor Blade Smile Cradle of Fear) plus a pair of inexperienced younguns Sarah Louise Madison and Sophia Del Pizzo.

Bam! signs they brilliantly plastered over footage of Nicki and Mariah bickering.

Ladies and gentlemen, start your Kleenex.
Indeed, 12 seasons in, the giant onion that is American Idol hasn’t lost an ounce of potency. Sit with it long enough — breathe in its swelling strings and its harrowing backstories and its humble notion that, with the right melody, the misfits and outsiders and scrappers of the world can make like Kelly Clarkson and have their very own “moment like this” — and eventually, you’ll be succumbing to the urge to ugly cry on your couch.

Here's what our critics had to say about recent releases:
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Is White Collar‘s Neal about to get some competition in the art department?
Pablo Schreiber (A Gifted Man, Weeds) will guest star in an upcoming hour of the USA Network series’ fourth season, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Schreiber appears in Episode 15 as Jb Bellmiere, a brilliant and volatile avant-guarde artist who studied under a legendary New York sculptor. (But can he top Neal’s New York City sandcastle?) Jb emerges as a “person of interest” for Peter’s team when several multimillion-dollar forgeries of his mentor’s work appear on the market.

I had an interesting conversation with Andrew Jones -- aka @EthanRunt -- on Twitter last week about the UK DVD release of The Muppets, which goes on sale today. He was upset that the slipcase included with the Region 1 DVD is not included with the Region 2 DVD. I was frankly astonished that anyone would ever notice such a thing, never mind get upset about it. But during the course of our Twitter conversation, Jones said: I like the presentation of the case as much as the movie. As much as the movie itself? Really? I know that people collect DVDs and that elaborate packaging is sometimes a selling point, but I honestly never imagined that even serious collectors would care about the inclusion or lack thereof of a cardboard sleeve. I used to throw those away, when I was buying DVDs: they just impede the getting at the movie. What...

Disney released John Carter on Blu-ray and DVD, and it is loaded with some cool special features. Andrew Stanton directs the adaptation based on Edgar Rice Burroughs novel " A Princess of Mars". Friday Night Lights' Taylor Kitsch stars in the lead and Lynn Collins (X-Men Origins: Wolverine,The Number 23) as Dejah Thoris, Willem Dafoe (Spider Man, Boondock Saints) as Tars Tarkas, and Dominic West (300, The Wire) as Sab Than.
The story starts off after the Civil War with John Carter trying to make a living mining gold while pushing thoughts of his deceased wife out of his head. While searching a mysterious cavern for treasure he is inexplicably transported to Mars, which is on the brink of collapse. Carter soon realizes that he has special powers on Mars, powers that are pretty damn cool. As a result the warrior on Earth becomes a reluctant hero and becomes a part of an epic battle.

Stars: Dane DeHaan, Michael B. Jordan, Michael Kelly, Ashley Hinshaw, Alex Russell, Luke Tyler | Written by Max Landis | Directed by Josh Trank
Andrew Detmer is a kid on the edge of society. He isn’t popular at high school, unlike his cousin Matt, at home his ailing mother can’t help protect him from his abusive father, and so his only protection is filming his whole life with a new camera, disassociating him from the rest of the world through a lens. But his dark, depressing life changes forever, when one night Andrew, Matt and Steve, possibly the most popular kid in school, find a hole in the ground, and examine the interior.

Drew, you have got a huge backlog of in-genre work, could you give us a summary of how The Cabin in the Woods ended up on screen, and how you ended up in the driver’s seat?
Drew Goddard: I wrote The Cabin in the Woods with my partner in crime Joss Whedon, I sort of started my career working for him on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. We had honed our technique of working together over those years. We just enjoyed working together, so after those shows went away we were just calling each other saying “let’s find something else to do”. We thought doing a feature would be the easiest thing to do for us, just in terms of our lives. So we started kicking around ideas of what we wanted to do, and we just love horror movies, and we love cabin movies in particular.

Gearing up for the release of Universal’s Battleship, out Aprill 11th in cinemas nationwide, we sat down with lead actor Taylor Kitsch to talk about stunts, sea-sickness and CGI, alliteration so nearly perfect too.
Interview by Andrew Jones
Are you enjoying all the buzz lately?
It’s exciting for sure, we’re very proud of it so it’s fun to finally show it.
How was the preparation for Battleship?
I had a lot of fun, it was very collaborative with Hopper, with who he is, living on his brother’s couch, and Pete and I boiled it down to a guy who was simply afraid of his own potential. He didn’t take the risks that you have to take in life to push yourself and succeed. He was that guy, everyone’s been in that position in their lives, and some don’t leave it, you know.

With Universal’s Battleship hitting the UK in cinemas nationwide on April 11th, we sat down with Brooklyn Decker, who plays Samantha in the film, to discuss her sudden acting career, auditioning for Peter Berg and Liam Neeson.
Interview by Andrew Jones
Is it exciting to be part of a big budget blockbuster movie?
It is, and it’s intimidating coming into something like this. It was only my second movie, and part of me wishes I could have had years of experience coming into it. But at the same time it was just an unbelievable experience, and Peter Berg is one of my dear friends and one my favourite people I’ve worked for. On Thursday night my fellow film blogger Andrew Jones Tweeted that he’d just enjoyed his fourth viewing of Thor (or should that be ‘Thor-th’). I was actually stunned by this. What was more surprising was that Andrew hadn’t liked the film at the first time of asking. Fair enough, as he explained to me, his second viewing was as part of a Marvel all-nighter which is what won him over and the subsequent times were on Blu-Ray. So there were reasons, but this still seemed odd to me. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed Thor well enough; it was enjoyably silly stuff with a likable cast and some witty ideas. But, given the option, would I see it four times in the six or seven months it’s been out? Heck no.
But then I wouldn’t even watch some of my favourite films again, given the option.

You only went and did it: you came up with a host of posters for a potential Con Air sequel. And here they are...
Okay, some context might help. A week or two back, director Simon West suggested that he'd like to put together a sequel to his first film, Con Air. This made us happy. And it also kick-started a conversation on Twitter as to what the sequel could be called, which then led to this list of suggestions here.
At the bottom of that post, we invited people to make posters for a potential Con Air 2, based on some of the title suggestions that you came up with. And you did. Which has led us to here.
Here, then, in a Friday special, is our selection of possible posters for Con Air 2. Enjoy, friends...
