Microsoft revealed recently that it would be presenting the Xbox Summer Showcase with all the updates for the games and studios that are part of this company. One of the big titles that will be introduced is the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise.
Many fans are speculating about whether the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass on Day One. There are also rumors about this service increasing its price when this kind of game is available. Separately, an entirely new tier of the service could also be introduced to justify the cost of this game, with such a high-profile addition.

Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard in October 2023 had fans instantly sending in requests to the trillion-dollar company to put Call of Duty games on Game Pass. The blockbuster franchise has been a mainstay in the video game industry for two decades, with tens of millions of fans.
Earlier in the year, Microsoft did confirm that Activision Blizzard titles will start showing up on Game Pass, with Diablo 4 being the first to go on the service. However, adding Call of Duty games was something the company was looking into at the time, and it seems the fans may get what they want.

It has been a while since The Last of Us: Part 2 came out, and players are surprised how a glitch in the game has still not been patched yet, causing them to die in the middle of a cut scene. As many on social media platforms pointed out, during a particular moment in the game, the character model somehow bugs out, causing Ellie to phase through the floor and fall into the void.
A still from The Last of Part 2
It has also been pointed out how the glitch seems to happen only in the permadeath mode, making players start their journey all over again as the custom mode allows the players only a single chance to finish the game if they have chosen the hardest difficulty, resetting their progress all over again if they die.

The state of Microsoft’s gaming division is not the best one right now. Call of Duty might well be the solution. The company had to put a stop to its four long-hailed gaming studios as a cost-cutting measure. Also, the company recently lost a legal battle against tech incubator Acceleration Bay, resulting in a staggering $23.4 million in patent infringement.
There are also claims that even after putting the whole focus of Xbox on the Game Pass, the subscription service has been seeing flat to low single-digit growth since the middle of 2021. However, the President of Xbox has shared great news that is meant to revive this service to its past glory.

Upon its introduction in 2018, Xbox’s Game Pass subscription service revolutionized the games industry, offering players access to a vast, Netflix-esque library of games for a reasonable monthly fee. Several publishers, and even direct competitor Sony, aped the idea for their own platforms.
As consumer-friendly as it seems, though, the service’s initial meteoric rise has plateaued over the past few years, with it even missing out on its growth targets consecutively. Microsoft recently reaffirmed its commitment to the service, but confidence in its sustainability remains shaky.

Microsoft and Xbox Gaming CEO Phil Spencer found an ally in Mike Ybarra, as the former Activision Blizzard President released a lengthy post on X to defend him regarding the ongoing controversy at Xbox. However, the reactions to the post suggest that fans are far from satisfied with the pointless advice that Mike Ybarra is peddling.
Previously, Tango Gameworks of Hi-Fi Rush fame and Arkane Austin of Dishonored fame were two of the many game development studios that were shut down. Microsoft Gaming previously acquired these studios for ‘bolstering their game development process’.
With many people left jobless by these ruthless cuts, fans demand reasoning from Phil Spencer, and by the looks of it, neither the Xbox CEO nor Sarah Bond, President of Xbox, have anything to say of value.

The upset against Microsoft’s Xbox continues to grow every day as the company is seemingly putting in less effort than ever on damage controlling the entire situation. Since it was revealed that 4 beloved gaming studios have been shut down after they were recently acquired by the company, they have been unfortunately delivering statements that while given in good faith, end up coming off as hypocritical.

Xbox fans have only wanted one thing since Microsoft completed its merger with Activision Blizzard last year: Call of Duty on Game Pass. The mega-popular franchise currently releases at a $70 price point every year, so having it available on the service day one would be a boon for fans.
However, a recent report from The Verge claimed that Microsoft is heavily debating launching new CoD titles on Game Pass, potentially due to the premium sales it’ll inevitably cannibalize. However, all hope isn’t lost yet, because Microsoft has reaffirmed its commitment to the service with a big announcement.

Activision’s “whole slate,” along with every first-party Xbox game, will keep hitting Game Pass on day one.
In an interview with Bloomberg, Xbox president Sarah Bond dispelled the recent rumors casting doubt on the addition of future Call of Duty titles on Game Pass.

After a couple of months of successfully topping the charts, Helldivers 2 is currently facing the brunt of player outrage over the latest Psn (PlayStation Linking) requirement. And by the looks of it, Xbox and Microsoft are learning from this mistake.
Microsoft is currently looking to release a web-based online store for mobile game consumables to directly rival Apple and Google’s app stores and the subsequent fee structures.
However, the outcome remains bleak, as a majority of players feel that the lack of an application for the same is going to spell doom for the project inadvertently.
Microsoft Gaming Store To Be Accessible Everywhere unlike Helldivers 2 According to Sarah Bond, the new store will be available everywhere.
The new gaming store is supposed to debut with Microsoft’s own games. It will also offer discounts on in-game items associated with some titles. A good example of this is Candy Crush Saga.

Xbox is moving forward with its plans of unveiling a major ‘technological leap’ in the coming months. The new President of Xbox, Sarah Bond, seems to have dedicated a lot of time and resources towards fulfilling that promise.

There were also several reports that the company will not make any more systems now as it is exiting the hardware market and will go third-party.
Although this claim was refuted by Xbox head Phil Spencer, who assured gamers that the Xbox Series X|S wouldn’t be the last console, many were still worried. However, it seems like Xbox is not going anywhere, as a new console labeled Dev Kit has been rated in South Korea.

All hell broke loose earlier this month when The Verge broke the story that Xbox was preparing to re-release first-party exclusives on the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Among the games rumored to go third-party were last year’s biggest Xbox exclusive, Bethesda’s Starfield, and upcoming big-budget action-adventure title Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. There were even rumors that Gears of War, a long-running franchise synonymous with the Xbox brand, would make the jump to the PS5.
This of course sent some in the Xbox community into a panicked frenzy, including a group of Xbox influencers who announced they were quitting the platform altogether and posting pictures of them trading in their Series X. For less dramatic but still concerned fans of the platform, the worry was that by ending the exclusivity of its biggest titles on Xbox consoles, the company was effectively giving up on the Xbox Series...

Xbox had seen a drop in fans after leaks and rumors about Xbox going third-party. But in the latest Xbox Direct, Phil Spencer made it clear that Xbox is not leaving the console business. It is just branching out into the multi-platform video game publishing business as well.
This has been met with manifold angry fan reactions that flooded the gaming communities on X, Reddit, etc. A large part of that anger was however not directed at Xbox or Microsoft Gaming. Instead the apparent ‘leakers’ got most of the blame for turning the Xbox community inside out for the sake of clicks and user engagement.
Fan reactions to the Xbox Direct just went on to show, that fans are starting to come to the conclusion that no leak should be trusted until official confirmation, yet again.
Xbox Direct Puts an End To Fan Speculation
The recently concluded Xbox Direct made one thing certain.

The Official Xbox Podcast just dropped their latest episode and there is a lot to talk about for the future of the gaming console. Microsoft has been trying to diversify its kitty, acquiring several companies over the past few years with Activision Blizzard and Bethesda being two of the big names that kept popping up.
With these acquisitions, it was only a matter of time before titles from these companies found their way to Xbox Game Pass. Last year, Phil Spencer, CEO of Xbox had said they wouldn’t be on the service until next year, and that time has now arrived.

Xbox, like so many other companies, hosts town hall meetings with its employees as a way to gauge the current circumstances and chart a course for its future. However, it appears there is trouble in Xbox paradise, as leaks from the most recent town hall are painting an uncertain future for the gaming giant.
The leak comes ahead of Microsoft’s February 15th showcase event, and could color public perception of any of the planned announcements. While the leaks claim there was some talk about the future of Xbox, it just doesn’t seem like the company has anything substantial or concrete planned on the horizon.

San Francisco, June 23 (Ians) Tech giant Microsoft was planning to develop a separate version of Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud) that won’t be dependent on the premium Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
On Thursday, at the hearing regarding the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) versus Microsoft case, the FTC’s attorney disclosed that the tech giant had been developing a “dedicated xCloud Sku” last year, reports The Verge.
“Xbox would very much like to do it,” Sarah Bond, head of Xbox creator experience, had said in September last year.
The company’s decision has now been strangely modified in response to regulatory concerns about cloud gaming.
“We’ve continued to get more data about the success and the popularity of xCloud. We’ve gotten more clear on the costs related to it, and we have signed partnerships with others who provide those services,” said Bond.
