Gerard Butler’s Mike Banning is falsely-accused and on the run in the explosive Olympus threequel, Angel Has Fallen.
Angel Has Fallen will continue to prove that Gerard Butler's Secret Service agent, Mike Banning, officially has the worst luck ever when it comes to his security details. Seriously, how many calamities can one bodyguard stop?
Interestingly, the film franchise launched with 2013’s Olympus Has Fallen, would fall short in its sequel, 2016’s London Has Fallen, (critically at least - it still did a fair amount of cash at the box office). However, like its protagonist, Banning, the franchise keeps kicking, still bearing the “Fallen" branding. The threequel will see another director turnover, this time placed in the hands of Ric Roman Waugh.

James Franco has cast the lead in his adaptation of Andre Dubus III’s singularly intense novel “The Garden of Last Days,” and he had to go all the way to Westeros to find her: Emilia Clarke, who plays the dragon-loving Daenerys Targaryen on the smash HBO fantasy series “Game of Thrones,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. She will play a Florida stripper who brings her 3-year-old daughter to work with her on the fateful night that she ends up dancing for several of the terrorists who would be involved in 9/11. It’s unclear whether or not Franco is also writing the adaptation of the novel, but given his extensively hands-on approach, it’s probably safe to assume he won’t just write and direct but he’ll also co-star, cater and do costume design. Millennium/Nu Image is financing the movie, with Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel, Danielle Robinson, Hanna Weg,...

As usual, James Franco has an exceedingly long to-do list -- one that just got longer with the announcement that the 35-year-old jack-of-all-trades will direct and star in an adaptation of Andre Dubus III's novel "The Garden of Last Days."
"Garden" is Dubus' follow-up novel to the National Book Award finalist "House of Sand and Fog," which in 2003 became an Oscar-nominated movie starring Ben Kingsley and Shohreh Aghdashloo. "Garden," released in 2008, tells three interwoven stories set in Florida on the days before the Sept. 11 attacks, but Deadline Hollywood reports that Dubus has given the Ok to set the movie in modern-day New York instead.
Shooting for "Garden" begins in July in New York City, with the movie's script penned by Hannah Weg, who also co-wrote 2014's "Hercules 3D." Gerard Butler will produce alongside Alan Spiegel and Danielle Robinson ("Olympus Has Fallen," "Playing for Keeps").

James Franco is set to both direct and play a key role in the contemporary thriller "The Garden of Last Days" for Millennium Films.
Hanna Weg ("Enigma") is penning this adaptation of the novel by Andre Dubus III ("House Of Sand And Fog"), though the film will shift the action to present day New York rather than keep the 9/11 time setting of the book.
The story involves three interwoven story lines - a stripper forced to bring her three-year-old daughter to work; an angry, loner who gets thrown out of the club; and a foreigner with an endless supply of cash about to commit a terrifying act.
Weg, Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel, Danielle Robinson, Vince Jolivette and Miles Levy will produce.
Shooting begins July 8th in New York once Franco wraps his role in "Good People". Franco is in Cannes this year with his adaptation of William Faulkner's "As I Lay Dying...
