Comic and graphic novel publisher Idw has set six of its books to be developed into television projects with showrunners attached to each. The series in development include “Bacchus,” “Dragon Puncher & Spoony,” “Korgi,” “Lodger,” “Relic of the Dragon” and “Satellite Falling.”
Based on Eddie Campbell’s graphic novel published by Idw’s Top Shelf Productions, “Bacchus” will be written and executive produced by Will Davies and Chloe Moss. The drama series drops the gods of ancient Greece into present day as if they had never left.
Development will be led by Idw’s vice president of live action, Jonny Gutman, and director of live action, Julie Winograd. Davies is repped by UTA, 42 and Jackoway, Austen, Tyerman, Wertheimer, Mandelbaum, Morris, Bernstein, Trattner & Klein. Moss is repped by 42.

Exclusive: Respected TV lit agents David Stone, a partner at WME, and Ben Jacobson, a partner at UTA, are leaving their respective agencies to launch a management company together, The Framework Collective.
Stone and Jacobson’s careers had been on parallel tracks since they started in the mailroom at UTA — one week apart from one another — in 2005. They became fast friends, then competitors for many years until they recently decided to partner up, bringing together a combined 30 years of experience.
Stone’s exit from WME and Jacobson’s from UTA were both amicable; I hear both agents had time left on their contracts but were released so their can pursue their vision and start the new venture.
“We are so excited to launch this company together,” Jacobson and Stone said in a statement. “The Framework Collective is a startup that is singularly focused on delivering excellent management to our clients through passionate advocacy,...

Exclusive: Verve is becoming a full-service agency with the launch of a talent team, which will be led by top TV talent agent Sean Grumman. He is leaving WME, where he was a partner in the talent department, to join Verve where he will become the agency’s 8th partner. WME and CAA alum Grumman will bring in other talent agents to build the Verve talent team.
This marks another step in the evolution of Verve, which was launched 10 years ago by WME motion picture lit agents Bill Weinstein, Bryan Besser and Adam Levine. The agency soon expanded into TV lit, and over the last few years also built up an alternative TV operation.
“As the agency continues to grow, we are excited to add Sean’s impeccable taste and client-first approach to both the Verve culture and Verve clients with the launch of our talent team,” the Verve partners said in a joint statement.

Exclusive: Former Wme motion picture literary agent Mike Fera has joined Kaplan/Perrone Entertainment as a manager. He starts today.
Fera was among a number of seasoned Wme agents in play amid the recent cuts at the Hollywood agency. He met with multiple agencies and management companies before making a deal with Kaplan/Perrone. Fera is the latest Wme agent to transition to management. Over the past couple of weeks, Wme talent agent and partner Duncan Millership joined Anonymous Content, and TV lit agent and partner Matt Solo joined 3 Arts Entertainment.
Fera spent the past decade at Wme representing writers and directors. Some of the clients he worked with there include Rafael Kasal, Timo Tjahjanto, Mark Mylod, Jennifer Yuh Nelson, Wes Tooke, Jay Karas, Emily Cohn and Ashley Miller.
Kaplan/Perrone, which marked its 20-year anniversary this year, also hired ICM Partners agent Andrew Murphy in March. Additionally, the...

Exclusive: Wme’s TV lit agent and partner Matt Solo is transitioning to management and has joined 3 Arts Entertainment. He is one of the first big-name Wme agents to land a new job following the recent cuts at Wme.
With dozens of senior agents in play, top management companies like 3 Arts have been approached by a number of Wme-ers looking to go into management over the past several weeks. 3 Arts traditionally has been very selective about bringing agents as managers, which requires a different skillset. Over the past 25+ years, only 1-2 former agents have joined the management-production company.
I hear 3 Arts partners felt that Solo would be a rare good fit because of the manager-like way he operated as an agent, being hands-on with a select list of clients. Additionally, Solo’s primary focus and expertise is in the hourlong area. While known for its signature comedy business, 3 Arts...

Refresh for more updates. After the WGA and Ata failed to reach an agreement, writers and showrunners started posting their letters terminating their working relationship with their agents. Damon Lindelof and Hart Hanson are the latest to post their letters joining a mass of other top industry names including Steven DeKnight, Alexi Hawley, Tim Doyle and Chrissy Pietrosh. Most are very cordial to their agents but not the wire creator David Simon who has been outspoken.
Lindelof, who is currently working on the forthcoming Watchmen adaptation for HBO, posted his letter to CAA on Instagram. My agents signed me in 1999,” he wrote. “When no one else believed in me, they did. For that, I will be forever grateful. Twenty years later, the business has radically transformed… as such, it is time to remember and reinstate the principle upon which “representation” is based. My agents have become my friends… I am...

This year’s Blood List has named the 13 best genre scripts around town, and in its sixth year the annual screenplay contest is expanding its scope to include hot books, TV pilots, and young scribes ripe for signing. Taking top honors in 2014 is sci-fi thriller Bird Box from The Thing and Final Destination 5 scribe Eric Heisserer, an apocalyptic tale of a woman trying to lead her children to safety – all three blindfolded – after monsters descend on earth that turn people insane on sight. Universal set Heisserer to adapt the manuscript from Josh Malerman in 2013 for Mama helmer Andy Muschietti. Previous Blood List alumni include Black Swan, Stoker, Warm Bodies, and the upcoming Blumhouse thriller The Boy Next Door.
Like the Black List naming the top unproduced screenplays circulating around Hollywood, the genre-focused Blood List taps exec votes to determine each year’s best unmade horror, sci-fi, and thriller scripts.

Robert Newman, head of motion pictures at ICM and a 17-year veteran of the agency whose clients include directors Robert Rodriguez, Guillermo Del Toro, Baz Luhrmann and Danny Boyle, has left ICM to join Endeavor as a partner, both agencies confirmed Wednesday.
Newman said he expects that Del Toro, Rodriguez, Luhrmann and Boyle will follow him to the 12-year-old agency, which already reps such A-list helmers as Martin Scorsese, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and Michael Moore. The fate of such Newman clients as Jonathan Demme, Mike Figgis, Brian Helgeland, John Hodge, Paul McGuigan, Iain Softley, Todd Solondz, Whit Stillman and Lee Tamahori remains up in the air.
Also joining Newman as a partner at Endeavor is former ICM television lit agent Matt Solo, who left ICM last month. At ICM, Solo's clients included top showrunners David Shore (Fox's House) and Shawn Ryan (FX's The Shield). It is unclear if he will take those clients with him. Although ICM said the agency continues to rep Solo's roster, sources said Ryan likely will follow Solo to Endeavor.
