The series about the lives of high school students ran for exactly ten years – from 1990 to 2000. The most successful seasons of Beverly Hills, 90210 were watched by 14.5 million viewers in the US alone, and by the same number of fans around the world.
During this time, the main characters evolved from shallow high school students to complex personalities, dealing not only with common teenage problems, but also with more serious issues such as alcoholism and domestic violence.
Despite the fact that the main characters became world famous, Beverly Hills, 90210 was the first and last major project for most of the cast.

She wished him a happy birthday and concluded, “Missing you always.”

"I'm not James Dean. And no one else is either. There's always someone being called the next James Dean. But there was only one. And he's dead." But from the second Dylan McKay drove onto the lot of West Beverly High in his black Porsche 356 Speedster, such was the comparison Luke Perry—with his perfect hair, scar splitting his right eyebrow and brooding soulfulness that suggested he just needed the love of a good woman to make him whole—would be hearing, a lot. But as Perry noted to the Chicago Tribune above, somewhat broodily, Dean was gone, destined to only reach the age at which Perry started playing a high school junior (then sophomore, because high school lasted a little longer...

Their tragic lives started with the loss of their mother at the hands of Yellow Eyes. Mary Winchester's death set in motion a chain of events that shaped Dean and Sam's lives. The brothers were dealt blow after blow.
From John dragging them into the hunting business instead of letting them live normal lives, to Sam's fiance Jess being murdered by the same demon who killed their mother, to John dying, and that was all before the second episode of Supernatural Season 2.

Fox released the first footage from the “Beverly Hills, 90210” meta revival on Thursday, showing the gang return to the Peach Pit and Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green return to making out.
Along with Spelling (Donna Martin) and Green (David Silver) locking lips, the brief teaser for “BH90210” shows glimpses of original cast members Shannen Doherty (Brenda Walsh), Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh), Jennie Garth (Kelly Taylor), Ian Ziering (Steve Sanders) and Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea Zuckerman).

Luke Perry’s official cause of death has been released, confirming that the actor died of a stroke last Monday, as previously reported, with no underlying causes.
The “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum and “Riverdale” star died from an “ischemic cerebrovascular accident” — the most common type of stroke, which occurs when a blood clot blocks a blood vessel and prevents blood and oxygen from getting to a part of the brain — according to his death certificate, which was obtained by TheWrap.
Perry died at 12:44 p.m. on March 4 at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, after being hospitalized the prior Wednesday following a massive stroke.

Cue obscure 90’s pop song intro here.
Charmed (2018) Season 1 Episode 14 took a ride down memory lane, reminding us of all the reasons 90’s TV was so great, yet so gosh darn problematic.
And what a fun ride it was.
There’s nothing better than a good meta episode; the more layers, the better. Throw in some breaking of the 4th wall and you’ve basically got yourself a home run.
“Touched By A Demon” was without a doubt a home run.
The episode was a light one, with the stakes at an all-time low. That didn’t stop it from being one of the best episodes of Charmed Season 1 though, especially from a writing standpoint.
This may be an episode best watched twice, so a viewer can truly soak in all its brilliance.

Jason Priestley posted a heartfelt farewell today to the late Luke Perry, his Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star and the victim of a massive stroke that ended his life this week at age 52.
Even via social media, the pain lacing Priestley’s words came across as he explained his delayed response to a death that has staggered Perry’s friends, family, fans and industry collaborators. “It’s taken me a couple of days to figure out how to write this. … My dear friend of 29 years, Luke Perry, was one of those truly special people who really cared.”
Priestley and Perry portrayed pals Brandon Walsh and Dylan McKay, respectively, on Beverly Hills, 90210, though their affable screen alliance was tested by their love triangle with Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth). The pair became bad-boy heartthrobs for a generation of viewers who made the 1990-2000 show a signature success for 10 seasons and a touchstone of the 1990s.

From the moment it was announced this past Monday, the internet (and entire universe), has been mourning the loss of Luke Perry, who suffered a massive stroke before passing away at the age of 52.
Maybe he was the object of your affection as Dylan McKay, the casually cool bad boy with a heart of gold, or perhaps the morally centered father of your favorite new teen soap Riverdale.
Regardless of how you knew him, Luke Perry has meant a great deal to multiple generations.
Over the past few days, the internet has flooded with anecdotes, stories, and memories of the thoughtful and kind actor, who lived his life with zero egos and a clear purpose: to give back.

The ultimate '90s teen drama, Beverly Hills, 90210, has unexpectedly been in the headlines quite a bit in recent days. On Feb. 27, news broke that Fox has plans to reboot the iconic series - but with a twist. Instead of doing a straightforward revival series, or a reboot in the vein of the 2008 version on The CW, the concept is described as a very meta mockumentary, where the original cast members will play exaggerated versions of themselves trying to get a 90210 reboot off the ground.
Of course, 90210 has been in the news for another, sadder reason: the sudden passing of original star Luke Perry, who died March 4 following a massive stroke. There's been a huge outpouring of love for the 90210 and Riverdale star, as well as a wave of nostalgia for his iconic role as Dylan McKay.

Luke Perry might have been on the fence, initially, about doing a "Beverly Hills, 90210" reboot -- but he was clear about his love for his old pals, and his admiration for the man who made them famous. Five years before Luke Perry joined the class of “90210,” the young actor had another school-themed role: he was a jean-jacket clad, MTV-shirt wearing extra in the video for Twisted Sister’s 1985 single “Be Chrool to Your Scuel.” The song was from 1985’s “Come Out and Play” album, the less-successful followup to the 1984 album “Stay Hungry,” featuring the breakout hits “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock.”
MTV refused to air the “Be Chrool to Your Scuel” video, objecting to scenes of zombie violence, despite playing Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video. However, singer Dee Snider believes the ban was due to his outspokenness against the lobbying group Parents Music Resource Center.

For a generation, “Beverly Hills 90210” cemented Luke Perry’s legacy as he redefined bad-boy archetypes with his portrayal of iconic sensitive teen Dylan McKay. In the years that followed, his career ranged from guest work on HBO’s “Oz,” to regular self-parody, to seemingly coming full circle as the father of a teenager on The CW’s “Riverdale.”
But one of his most important roles was came in a 1992 film that helped redefine a genre. Directed by Fran Rubel Kuzui and written by Joss Whedon, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” is not remembered as a classic, for good reason. Much of the action is clumsy both in its choreography and its direction, no one in the cast seems to agree as to what kind of movie they’re making, Donald Sutherland is literally just making up his own dialogue, and the tone veers from self-serious drama to wild camp.

When Luke Perry died on Monday at age 52 after suffering a stroke last week, most fans instantly thought of his role as the heartthrob Dylan McKay on the Nineties megahit and cultural phenomenon Beverly Hills 90210. Just last week, fans of Fox’s beloved teen soap “Beverly Hills, 90210” were thrilled by the announcement that a long-rumored revival was official in the works. That same day, actor and original star Luke Perry suffered a massive stroke, a medical emergency that led to his untimely death five days later. Even though the actor had not signed on to be a part of the series, there was still hope that he’d participate, as the new take on the beloved series was still in the early stages of development. After all, the revival has a twist that seemed perfect for Perry’s sensibilities: The actors are playing themselves.
In the revival, original stars Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, and Tori Spelling will return — not to reprise their roles on the primetime soap that made them famous — but to play irreverent, heightened versions of their real-life selves.

Los Angeles – His image, as a brooding heartthrob on the Fox-tv series “Beverly Hills, 90210,” was reflective of the early 1990s. Luke Perry represented both the image and the show, and he died on March 4th, 2019, after suffering a massive stroke on February 27th. He was only 52 years old.
Coy Luther “Luke” Perry III was born in Mansfield, Ohio, and set out for Los Angeles after graduating high school. He found work in soap operas in 1987 and ’88, with “Loving” and “Another World.” But he broke out big in 1990 as Dylan McKay on “Beverly Hills, 90210,” for his role as an outsider character in a high school gang that included Brandon Walsh (Jason Priestley), Brenda Walsh (Shannon Doherty), Kelly Taylor (Jenny Garth) and Steve Sanders (Ian Ziering). He left after Season Six, but came back to finish with the series for Seasons Nine and Ten.

Luke Perry’s first appearance on Beverly Hills, 90210 as West Beverly bad boy Dylan McKay aired on Perry’s 24th birthday. That was relatively young compared to some of his co-stars (Gabrielle Carteris turned 30 midway through that first season), but Perry had a lived-in face and physicality. And as the breakout star of Fox’s enduring Nineties teen drama, Perry became the easiest butt of jokes about hiring grown-ass adults to play high school sophomores and juniors.
