I’ll always primarily think of Greg Sestero as the young Andre Toulon from Full Moon‘s 1999 release Retro Puppet Master, but for many movie fans he is best known for playing the role of Mark in director Tommy Wiseau’s “disasterpiece” The Room. After the experience of working on The Room, Sestero wrote a book about the making of the film that was called The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, the Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made, which served as the basis for the movie The Disaster Artist. Now Sestero has made his feature directorial debut with the horror film Miracle Valley, and Deadline reports that the film is going to be released through the Tubi streaming service on September 16th. With that date just three days away, check out the trailer for Miracle Valley in the embed above to see whether or not this looks like something...

The Wrong Turn franchise hasn’t ever been a well respected horror series, but it has shown itself to be pretty sustainable over the years, delivering a total of six films between 2003 and 2014. Now, the carnage will continue with yet another outing currently in production.
Yes, as you may’ve heard, Constantin Film – the studio behind the Resident Evil movies – is bringing us a new chapter in this series that revolves around an inbred family of cannibalistic mountain men from West Virginia. Mike P. Nelson, director of the acclaimed post-apocalyptic thriller The Domestics, will be behind the camera and in what may sound like a familiar premise, the movie will feature a group of friends who embark on a hiking trip through the Appalachian Trail.

I first read Child of God by Cormac McCarthy (No Country for Old Men, The Road) at the end of the nineties and was blown away by it. Since then it has become one of my favourite novels and one that I’ve re-read a dozen times or more. When I heard that James Franco (Pineapple Express) was directing a feature adaptation of the novel I was concerned, excited and concerned some more. Franco, someone I had seen nothing by in terms of directing, seemed like an odd director and it worried me that a story of such darkness wouldn’t be given the proper respect.
Fast-forward to this week and the DVD release...

Do not mistake Child of God for being a film on a religious topic. It follows Lester Ballard (Scott Haze) who, after a rough childhood, now lives on his own in the forest after being rejected by society. Living by his own rules, Lester is almost feral, his crimes slowly getting worse and more depraved as the film progresses and we follow his life as a man outside of society, and out on his own,
Having never read the book of the same name, written by Cormac McCarthy, I cannot say how closely the film stays true to it. So let’s just say that there is a book and you can check it out if you want.

James Franco has a pretty awesome career acting, directing, teaching, and just being a pretty rad guy. He's got an incredibly intense looking new film coming out that he directed called Child of God, which is based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy. The movie looks really freakin' good, and it looks like it's going to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
The story follows a man named Lester Ballard, "a dispossessed, violent man whom the narrator describes as 'a child of God much like yourself perhaps.' Ballard’s life is a disastrous attempt to exist outside the social order. Successively deprived of parents and homes and with few other ties, Ballard descends literally and figuratively to the level of a cave dweller as he falls deeper into crime and degradation.”
The film also stars Jim Parrack, Tim Blake Nelson, Scott Haze, Jeremy Ambler, Fallon Goodson, Vince Jolivette,...

Here's the teaser trailer for James Franco's big screen adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's Child of God. Franco directed the film, which "tells the story of Lester Ballard, a dispossessed, violent man whom the narrator describes as 'a child of God much like yourself perhaps.' Ballard’s life is a disastrous attempt to exist outside the social order. Successively deprived of parents and homes and with few other ties, Ballard descends literally and figuratively to the level of a cave dweller as he falls deeper into crime and degradation.” The trailer basically introduces the audience to this character. It's brief, but it gives you a good sense of the tone that the film will have. There's a lot of talent involved with this movie, so I'm sure the movie is going to turn out great.

On February 17th and 18th, 2012, the London-Laurel Optimist Complex in small town, London, Kentucky, became a weekend getaway for rabid horror fans. Playing host to some truly legendary names of the horror and paranormal world, guests arrived in anticipation for the first ever Dead Winter Convention. Put together by Brian Sizemore and his wife Samantha Sizemore, Dead Winter Convention quickly became an unforgettable experience for all of those who made the trip.
Accompanied by close friend and Liberal Dead hype man Robert “Tater” Gutheridege, we made the two and half hour drive and arrived in London a day early. Being from small town eastern Kentucky, London felt just like home, only a lot friendlier. The next morning it was time to make our way to the London-Laurel Optimist Complex, we were not in the parking lot even ten minutes, when we had our first horror icon sighting. Dead Winter Con, taking place in London, Kentucky, the home state of the founding members of The Liberal Dead, is amping up to be one hell of a get together for die-hard horror fans. Taking place on February 17th-18th, I will be attending on behalf of The Liberal Dead covering the entire convention while celebrating my 30th birthday on the 18th, and I cannot think of a better way to spend it. As a huge Friday the 13th fan, this is sure to be an experience I will never forget with Ari Lehman (and his band First Jason), Kane Hodder, and Victor Miller all in attendance under the same roof.
I for one am happy to see so many conventions taking place in the bluegrass state, it seems each year there is always one or two new ones popping up or that the returning ones double in size. While...

The Walking Dead Torn Apart Web Series Webisodes 1-6. Greg Nicotero‘s The Walking Dead: Torn Apart (2011) web series stars Lilli Birdsell, Rick Otto, Rex Linn, Danielle Burgio, Madison Leisle, and Griffin Cleveland. The Walking Dead‘s plot synopsis: “The Walking Dead tells the story of the weeks and months that follow after [an] apocalypse. Based on Robert Kirkman’s hugely successful and popular comic book series.”

It’s not easy trying to keep your kid alive, what with all the cannibals running around licking their lips. For one, kids being kids, they don’t always listen to you, and let’s face it, haven’t we all entertained the idea of selling our kids for a nice meal at least once? Or not. Here are some new images from John Hillcoat’s depress-a-ton, aka his adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road”. Sure it’s depressing as shit and you’ll probably want to slit your wrist after seeing it, but man, does it all look visually awesome or what? Our friends over on Quiet Earth snagged a bunch of behind-the-scenes photos from The Road, the much- anticipated adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's Pulitzer-winning novel. They came courtesy of actor Jeremy Ambler, the nice looking fellow to Viggo Mortensen's left. Everyone in the photographs may be smiling (I've never seen cannibal victims look so cheerful!), but I'll be darned if the photo of the Fanker Mansion doesn't send a chill down my spine. We've attached it and a photo of the cannibals in the gallery below -- pretty freaky looks for a very scary scene.
I can't decide if I'm excited for this movie or just plain dreading it. Every glimpse of it makes me go find a puppy and hug it, then watch some YouTube videos of baby pandas for good measure. Get Cute Overload and your Disney DVD's prepped on November 26th -- you're really going to need them.

Normally the launch of a film’s official site comes with, at the very least, some early production artwork. Such is not the case for The Road, John Hilcoat’s adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel, but more has been found that should make up for its lack of content.

It's been a while since we've brought you any news of John Hillcoat's The Road (last update was September 2, 2008 but who's counting heh), so I thought I'd regale you all with some behind the scenes pictures that were taken during the filming of one of the most crucial and suspenseful scenes in the movie. Those of you who've read the book will no doubt remember the scene I'm talking about; the one where The Man and The Boy explore a seemingly empty manor only to find that it's occupied by, well let's just say, those of less than acceptable eating habits... okay fine, they're cannibals.
The photos are from the personal collection of actor Jeremy Ambler (shown to the right) who was lucky enough to play one of the unfortunate "people in the cellar." One thing I can say about the crew of The Road is that everyone seems...
