“How many times do I have to go through this? We’re not shaking hands,” Paul responds. The short moment is a complete about-face from the dynamics between Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.

Apple today unveiled a first-look teaser for the third season of its critically acclaimed workplace comedy Mythic Quest, which is slated to premiere on Apple TV+ this fall.
The series created by Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Megan Ganz follows a group of video game developers tasked with building worlds, molding heroes and creating legends, but the most hard-fought battles don’t occur in the game — they happen in the office. While its second season watched as the company’s creative director Ian Grimm (McElhenney) and co-creative director Poppy Li (Charlotte Nicdao) departed to pursue their own venture, today’s teaser promised that this decision has actually “changed nothing.”
This time around, Ian and Poppy will continue to navigate the gaming world and their partnership at the newly formed GrimPop Studios, with Dana (Imani Hakim) being forced to play mediator to her bosses’ incessant bickering. Back at Mythic Quest, David...

“It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” has been renewed for four more seasons, FX’s John Landgraf announced on Disney’s Investor Day call Thursday, bringing it to Season 18 and helping it break a record for sitcoms.
The long-running Fxx comedy created by Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhenney began in 2005. Season 15 of “Always Sunny” will debut in 2021, which was previously announced as part of FX’s 2021 slate.
“Always Sunny” now tops “Ozzie and Harriet” as the longest-running sitcom in television history, with “Ozzie and Harriet” topping out at just 14 seasons.
The Gang of Charlie Day, Kaitlin Olson, Howerton, McElhenney and Danny DeVito recently took over the old filming location of “The Office,” which also started in 2005. The show was FX’s first original comedy and has continued and grown in popularity as a cult favorite over the years. It moved to Fxx in 2013.
The show follows the adventures of the Philadelphia friends at Paddy’s Pub.

It seems like The Cool Kids are no longer cool enough for Fox. The network canceled the comedy starring David Alan Grier, Martin Mull, Vicki Lawrence, and Leslie Jordan after one season.
The Cool Kids premiered last fall to solid numbers. Its September debut (2.1 18-49 L+7 rating 10.2 million) was the most-watched Friday broadcast comedy debut in almost six years. The comedy also held onto a significant part of its Last Man Standing lead-in early on.
Last October, Fox picked up the multi-cam series for nine additional episodes for a full-season order to 22 episodes. Since then, The Cool Kids has been fading, more recently pulling in a 0.6 demo rating in Live+same day and just over 3 million viewers.

Fox has picked up nine additional episodes of new multi-camera comedy series The Cool Kids, bringing the full-season order to 22 episodes. It joins its Friday companion, the breakout Last Man Standing revival, which had a full-season 22-episode order from the start.
The Cool Kids has done a respectable job holding onto a significant part of its Last Man Standing lead-in. The Season 7 premiere of the Tim Allen starrer drew a 2.7 Live+7 adults 18-49 rating and 13.4 million multi-platform viewers to date to rank as the most-watched Friday regular comedy telecast on any network in 15 years, and Fox’s most-watched comedy on any night in 4 1/2 years. Leading out of that, the debut of The Cool Kids was the most-watched Friday broadcast comedy debut in almost six years. While both shows slipped in Week 2, Last Man Standing‘s ratings actually ticked up in Week 3 while The Cool Kids stabilized with a very small dip.

At the end of Season 12, the most selfish member of the self-centered crew decided he was leaving the gang and moving out of the City of Brotherly Love to be closer to his estranged son in North Dakota. And, thanks to a crazy-long hiatus (Season 12 ended in March 2017) and extreme evasiveness from Howerton and company, fans have been wondering if and when (and how) Dennis was going to be included when the show returned for its upcoming 13th year.

When It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia returns for its 13th season on Wednesday, September 5, Glenn Howerton’s creepy Dennie Reynolds won’t be at his usual Paddy’s Pub stool or even in his video-equipped bedroom.
Here’s how Fxx made the announcement of the show’s return: “The Gang Returns… mostly…. in the 13th season of the Fxx original comedy series It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Mac (Rob McElhenney), Charlie (Charlie Day), Dee (Kaitlin Olson) and Frank (Danny DeVito) return to their duplicitous, scheming ways at Paddy’s Pub, while Dennis (Glenn Howerton) takes on the new role of father in North Dakota.”
When last seen, Howerton’s Dennis had told the gang that he was leaving to take part in the life of his newly discovered infant son. In real life, Howerton is now starring in NBC’s A.P. Bio, which has been renewed for a second season.

FX has unveiled the debut date for Kurt Sutter’s “Mayans M.C.” The cable channel has also set the returns for “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “American Horror Story.”
Comedy “Mr Inbetween” does not yet have a specific date, but it will start in September, FX said. So will all these other ones.
In “Mr Inbetween,” Scott Ryan plays “Ray Shoesmith,” a father, ex-husband, boyfriend and best friend: tough roles to juggle in the modern age. It’s even harder when you’re a criminal for hire, per FX’s teaser description.
The six-episode season, written by Ryan and directed by Nash Edgerton, also stars Damon Herriman, Justin Rosniak, Brooke Satchwell, Jackson Tozer, Nicholas Cassim, Chika Yasumura and Matt Nable. “Mr Inbetween” was shot in Australia and is produced by Blue-Tongue Films and Jungle Entertainment, in association with FX Productions, Screen Australia and Create Nsw. Leah Remini has joined the untitled Rob McElhenney-Rob Rosell comedy pilot at Fox, Variety has confirmed.
Remini will play Jean, who considers herself a patriot who loves her country and firmly believes in everyone’s right to be left alone. Jean in many ways fits the stereotype of a typical conservative. However, she leads a very progressive lifestyle as she is now married to a woman, Betty. Together, they’re raising Jean’s two boys with the help of the boys’ father and Jean’s ex-husband, Richie, who currently lives in the garage.
Remini most recently starred in Season 2 of the CBS sitcom “Kevin Can Wait,” which saw her reunite with her former “King of Queens” co-star Kevin James. The series was cancelled in May. She is also the creator and executive producer of A&E Network’s hit nonfiction docuseries “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath.” Season 3 of...

Patrick Walsh (Living Biblically) has joined Fox’s new comedy series The Cool Kids as executive producer and showrunner.
Walsh replaces Kevin Abbott who served as executive producer/showrunner on the pilot. Abbott, a Last Man Standing veteran who served as an executive producer for most of the multi-camera comedy’s six seasons on ABC, including two stints as showrunner, was recently tapped as showrunner of Fox’s Lms revival, which will be paired with The Cool Kids on Fox’s Friday fall schedule. That created a vacancy on The Cool Kids, with Walsh brought in as showrunner on the series. Both comedies are produced by 20th Century Fox Television.
Walsh will executive produce The Cool Kids alongside Charlie Day, Kevin Abott, Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton and Nick Frenkel; Paul Fruchbom co-executive produces.

Lionsgate has taken a majority stake in management-production powerhouse 3 Arts Entertainment, a deal that reflects in the entertainment industry’s push to marry premium content providers with global distribution assets.
Lionsgate said 3 Arts would continue to be led by partners Erwin Stoff, Howard Klein, Michael Rotenberg, Molly Madden, Dave Becky, David Miner, and Nick Frenkel. The company was founded in 1991 by Stoff, Klein and Rotenberg. Lionsgate said it would assemble an operating board to oversee the company.
“We’re excited to be partnering with a best-in-class talent management company that shares our entrepreneurial culture and vision for the future,” said Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer. “This deal checks all the boxes — a strategic and accretive transaction for our shareholders and a win/win partnership for both companies. It enables us to deepen our already successful relationship with 3 Arts and allows them to offer a richer palette of opportunities to their clients.

As Deadline exclusively revealed in April would happen, Lionsgate Entertainment has bulked up its asset base of content generating and client representation by completing a majority stake purchase for top management/production company 3 Arts Entertainment. We reported last month that the deal was in the works, and that Lionsgate is in talks to buy 50% of 3 Arts with an option to acquire the remaining 50% in five years. The numbers we heard pegged 3 Arts’ valuation at $300 million at the least, with some sources indicating it could be closer to $350 million.
The management/production company’s leadership would be staying put after the transaction. That includes 3 Arts partners Erwin Stoff, Michael Rotenberg, Howard Klein, David Miner, Dave Becky, Nick Frenkel and Molly Madden.
Lionsgate and 3 Arts had no comment at the time.
