Exclusive: New York-based Believe Entertainment Group (Dear Basketball) is teaming with former Nickelodeon executive Keith Dawkins of Rock Hill Media Ventures and veteran writer-animator Larry Schwarz (Kappa Mikey) on kids series Dinosaur, Mermaid, Racecar, Pufferfish.
The live-action, half-hour adventure comedy series is geared toward kids ages six – 11. The show focuses on four characters who are styled as the galaxy’s most unlikely superheroes, and their fun and misadventures. After an acclaimed scientist bioengineers the four characters to combat other mutant monster creatures, he banishes them to the planet Uranus to battle their way out and back to Earth.
The series is created by Schwarz under his Larry Schwarz and His Band banner. Oscar-winner Believe will executive produce alongside Dawkins for Rock Hill Media who jointly developed the project.

Yet another lawsuit has been filed against a production company in Hollywood as interns continue to rise up and demand compensation for unpaid work. In a federal wage-and-hour suit filed against Crook Brothers Productions, Jeff and Josh Crook, Larry Schwarz Media Group, as well Larry Schwarz and His Band, plaintiff Kevin Hicks says he worked 10-to-16 hours a day, in excess of 40 hours a week, as an intern on Crook's "Alien Dawn," a series that premiered on Nickelodeon's Nicktoons earlier this year, but has not aired since April. HandMade Films acquires Larry Schwarz's NYC-based Animation Collective Group in a deal valued at a maximum of Us$12 million, and has partnered with National Geographic Kids to launch the joint venture Handmade Kids TV. Schwarz will remain the creative head of the Animation Collective Group for Handmade Kids and will also serve on the Handmade Kids board of directors. Additionally the newly formed Handmade Kids inks a deal with the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson to adapt her books Tea for Ruby and the Little Red series as animated TV programs. The terms of this deal were not announced other than Ferguson will remain involved with her properties and will become a non-executive director of the Handmade Kids board. HandMade's acquisition of Animation Collective is subject to profit performance over a three-year period. HandMade is set to release its CGI animated feature film Planet 51 in the Us next month,...

London -- Handmade Plc, which runs movie company Handmade Films, is planning a production subsidiary to make children's programming in a joint venture with National Geographic Kids Entertainment.
The company, listed here on the Alternative Investment Market, has also acquired U.S. animation studio Animation Collective to fuel its ambitions.
The company told the market -- shares in Handmade on London's junior Aim market have been suspended since June pending the announcement of the deal and fundraising -- of plans to invest £3.3 million ($5.4 million) in a joint venture with National Geographic and up to £7 million ($11.5 million) in buying U.S. animation firm Animation Collective.

Speed Racer Enterprises which handles licensing and merchandising for eponymous animated series, has announced new online and mobile brand extensions for both 'Speed Racer: The Next Generation' and the classic animated 'Speed Racer' series. The iTunes App Store will host a Speed Racer App in their Games and Entertainment category and full length episodes of both series can be found on several key online television service providers including YouTube, Hulu, Joost and Crunchyroll.
