Back in September, the first image from the horror film Don’t Move was unveiled. That’s the image above, which doesn’t show us anything other than the fact that the movie stars Yellowstone cast member Kelsey Asbille. Hopefully we’ll be seeing more about Don’t Move soon, though, because Variety reports that the worldwide distribution rights to the film have been acquired by the Netflix streaming service. A release date has not yet been announced.
Don’t Move is being produced by genre legend Sam Raimi. Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, who directed episodes of the Raimi-produced anthology series 50 States of Fright, directed the film from a screenplay written by T.J. Cimfel and David White, who previously wrote the 2015 home invasion movie Intruders and the recent creepy kid movie There’s Something Wrong with the Children. This film follows a seasoned killer who injects a grieving woman with a paralytic agent.

Paramount Network’s Yellowstone is the most-watched show across all of television, so it makes sense that the first image from the horror film Don’t Move promotes the fact that Yellowstone cast member Kelsey Asbille is in the movie. Actually, that’s pretty much all it promotes, because the image (which was first seen on Variety) just shows a close-up of Asbille’s face. You can take a look at it at the bottom of this article.

While I’m not really sold on the upcoming short-form streaming service Quibi, there’s a lot of big talent on board to create the series that will fill it with content.
Sam Raimi is producing one of the shows for it called 50 States of Fright, a horror anthology series that will feature a great cast of talent that includes Christina Ricci, Rachel Brosnahan, Travis Fimmel, Jacob Batalon, Ming-Na Wen, Taissa Farmiga, Asa Butterfield, John Marshall Jones, and Ron Livingston.
The series will focus on urban legends that come from specific states. When talking about the series, Gunpowder and Sky CEO Van Toffler told THR:
“The driving force for us as a studio is to foster the careers of emerging talent by marrying them with proven innovators. With 50 States of Fright we sought out a diverse group of breakthrough performers and fearless horror visionaries and partnered them with Sam...

Friday night at the 2015 Los Angeles Film Festival, Adam Schindler’s thriller Shut In enjoyed its world premiere. Written by T.J. Cimfel and David White, the film stars Beth Riesgraf as Anna, an agoraphobic woman who loses her brother- and her only connection to reality- to cancer. As she struggles to cope, three men (Martin Starr, Jack Kesy and Joshua Mikel) break into her home, not realizing that its last remaining resident isn’t going to give up the sanctity of her home (and the only world she knows) without a fight.
Daily Dead had the chance to speak with Schindler and his producing partner Brian Netto about their experiences working on Shut In, finding their perfect Anna, shooting in Shreveport and more.

Modern-day TV viewers know that reality show subjects doing disturbing things is nothing new, but in Delivery: The Beast Within, a camera crew following a young couple’s pregnancy captures unnerving behavior of the paranormal variety, leading to content too controversial even for reality TV. We’ve been provided with an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip in which director Brian Netto discusses the film’s origins.
Los Angeles, CA – “A jaw-dropping intense thriller with a “shocking, can’t-believe-i-saw-that conclusion” (HorrorNews.net), Delivery: The Beast Within terrifies on DVD and digital HD September 30 from Cinedigm (Nasdaq: Cidm) and The Collective. Blending found footage and reality show genres, the nightmarish feature that is “so intense, so frightening, and so real” (Aint It Cool News) marks the directorial debut of Brian Netto, who also co-wrote the film with producer Adam Schindler, and is “bolstered by outstanding performances by its two leads,” (IndieWire) Laurel Vail and Danny Barclay.

Delivery: The Beast Within attempts psychological horror on a realistic scale – well, as realistic as fake reality television can be – but in attempting to blur the lines between a Hellish pregnancy and deeply-rooted mental insanity, writer/director Brian Netto creates a found footage horror film without much intrigue or flavor. Mokumentary horror films are no longer a dime a dozen, and while a film like The Possession Of Michael King finds fresh, frantic new ways to introduce horrific scares, Delivery: The Beast Within feels lifeless, repetitive, and frustratingly underwhelming. It’s possible to find ways to inject genre craziness into films favoring a human vibe, but Netto would rather make demonic possession just a suggested afterthought, going the route of an even further watered-down Paranormal Activity copycat – minus a creeping sense of unnerving terror.

"Found Footage" is a tired trope, so one hesitates to lump in "Delivery" with the rest of the found footage horror genre because it's not under the guise of amateur "found" footage, it's footage that was specifically created— just for something quite different than what it was intended. "Delivery" makes horror out of what might be the least horrific genre (depends on who you ask) imaginable: the pregnancy reality show. Director Brian Netto and co-writer Adam Schindler have taken the taken both the found footage and reality show genres, and mashed them into one very scary and very entertaining homage to "Rosemary's Baby," and a worthy entrant into the pregnancy horror genre. We know things aren't going to go well for Rachel (Laurel Vail) and Kyle (Danny Barclay) when the film opens on the show's producer trying to explain just what went so, so wrong during the taping of a reality show documenting their pregnancy.
