Mr. Big have announced their 10th studio album, simply titled Ten, which arrives July 12th.
The hard rock vets also offered up lead single “Good Luck Trying.” The song is built around a strutting blues riff from guitarist Paul Gilbert and unfurls at a fast pace. If the verses carry a heavy Led Zeppelin vibe, then the slowed-down chorus is more Bad Company, opening up space for frontman Eric Martin’s strong vocal delivery.

“Overall, it’s about being overwhelmed with life, and realizing that you won’t win many of the battles, but still fighting to the end,” stated Gilbert on the lyrics. “And keeping a sense of humor about it by saying to anyone nearby, ‘Wish me good luck trying!'”

The choreography is impressive as people are hurled through walls, thrown off rooftops and otherwise beaten to a pulp, but the editing is frenetic and the characters cartoonish
Hong Kong’s Kowloon Walled City – once the most densely populated place on Earth – is the perfect movie setting: a Piranesian labyrinth of squalid high rises and dark, cramped alleys, teeming with crooks, lowlifes, addicts and impoverished families running small businesses, legit and otherwise. This 1980s-set action epic lovingly, meticulously recreates the notorious neighbourhood (which was demolished in 1994), but sadly, the backdrop is more interesting than the story.
At heart it’s a tale of a Chinese immigrant caught between rival gangs. Street fighter Chan Lok-kwan (Raymond Lam) is initially scammed by local triad boss Mr Big (a cigar-smoking caricature from veteran Jackie Chan sidekick Sammo Hung). Chan retaliates by stealing a package and, after a great bus-top chase scene,...

Sarah Jessica Parker is clearly a proponent of Carrie Bradshaw and Aidan Shaw’s romance. In a recent appearance, Parker dished a bit about the upcoming season of And Just Like That… and even discussed the advice she would give a young Carrie Bradshaw. It is a bit surprising, but Parker’s advice largely centers around Aidan Shaw.
Sarah Jessica Parker denounces Carrie Bradshaw’s affair during a recent appearance
Sarah Jessica Parker had some thoughts on what present-day Carrie Bradshaw wishes a younger Carrie knew. During an appearance at the Warner Bros. Carrie Bradshaw had two great loves and a couple of other long-term romances in Sex and the City. She also had a host of other dating failures. In the pile of discarded love interests, there were a few gems. We collected Carrie Bradshaw’s three most underrated love interests. We think she could have really made it work with these men.
Carrie briefly dated Ben, and frankly, he seemed perfect
Carrie Bradshaw had issues with trusting men. That’s what a decade of dating in New York City taught her. Being skeptical is one thing; being paranoid is another. Her lack of trust led her astray in season 2 with a political magazine editor named Ben. In the episode “The Freak Show,” Carrie met Ben while sitting in the park, and the two hit it off pretty well.

The Sex and the City franchise may have experienced a recent resurgence thanks to its Max spin-off. But there was a time when Chris Noth felt there was no coming back for the show.
Why Chris North felt ‘Sex and the City’ was done for Chris Noth | Jason Howard/Bauer-Griffin/Gc Images
Before being written off the series, Noth was a major part of the hit HBO show. His character, Mr. Big, carried over to the series’ two movies. Before And Just Like That, some fans wondered if there might be a third installment in the film series. Noth was one of many actors who was asked about the possibility of a second sequel.
“Everybody always asks me and I’m always the last to know. Really! I’ll believe the film when they call Action and until they do that its all just useless chit chat,” Noth once told Vogue.

“Road House” is an infectiously stylish piece of slumming. It’s a remake of the 1989 Patrick Swayze cheeseball action cult film, and it’s staged with a verve and wit and dynamic grittiness that make the original film look even more rickety than it once did. Doug Liman, the director of the new “Road House,” has always been a gifted maverick, but I still like his earliest films the best. For years now, he has worked hard to make interesting and responsible dramas, but watching “Road House” you can taste how good it must have felt for him to be irresponsible — to give in to his savage B-movie id.
The action in “Road House” is beyond brutal; at moments, it’s vicious. Yet if the movie is far more violent than your average action film, in its slightly crackpot bare-knuckle way it’s also more humane. Liman stages the pulp...

Even the most die-hard 007 fans know that James Bond movies don’t always hit. There’s the yellow face of You Only Live Twice, the pigeon double-take in Moonraker, the surfing in Die Another Day. But never has the franchise done worse than when a certain Louisiana police officer bumbles into the otherwise solid Live and Let Die.
Yes, I’m talking about Sheriff J.W. Pepper, a loudmouth distraction who sort of makes sense in the American-set Live and Let Die, but then he somehow also shows up in Thailand to further drag down The Man With the Golden Gun.
Modern viewers meeting the character for the first time today will likely be confused by Pepper’s shtick. But to the viewers of the early 1970s, Pepper not only hit as a funny joke, but he was very much in line with Bond’s history of pop culture Johnny-come-latelyisms.

There were many iconic moments during Sex and the City‘s six-season run. Still, Matthew McConaughey yelling intensely at Carrie Bradshaw in his Hollywood office might be one of the most iconic. The scene feels a bit misplaced in the series, but it still elicits a giggle during every rewatch.
For most fans, no one but McConaughey would do in the role. He wasn’t the first to be offered the guest spot, though. It was only offered to the True Detective star because three other actors turned it down.

A lot has happened in the Sex and the City Universe since HBO’s reboot “And Just Like That…” premiered last summer. After the show killed off Mr. Big with a Peloton, Carrie took hold of her new life by starting a podcast. Meanwhile, Charlotte threw her non-binary child a “they-mitzvah” and, perhaps in the most meme-worthy storyline of the season, Miranda realized her queerness and began dating Che Diez, who introduces themself in the first episode as a “queer non-binary Mexican-Irish diva.”
But the most exciting scene of the reboot will take place tonight, when Kim Cattrall makes her much anticipated revival as the iconic Samantha Jones. In the scene, Samantha, who in the show has moved to London, will have a phone conversation with Carrie.

It would come as no surprise to learn that “Back on the Strip” started out as a “Magic Mike” parody. I’m not saying that it did. But what else could explain the bizarrely literal premise of an ensemble indie comedy in which our hero is a wannabe magician who heads to Vegas hoping to be the next David Copperfield, only to wind up shaking his wand for a Chippendales-style male dance revue instead?
What makes “Strip” so consistently funny for most of its too-long two-hour running time isn’t Merlin’s lame prestidigi-dream (that part feels like co-writers Chris Spencer and Eric Daniel have been watching too many Nickelodeon movies) but the sorry state of his fellow dancers: a has-been crew called the Chocolate Chips. That fairly original hook allowed the filmmakers to round up an A-list lineup for this C-grade endeavor. The movie features everyone from Tiffany Haddish...

Finally, the day we’d all been hoping for has come. In a fate worse that the focus group for Ché Diaz’s failed pilot, the writers of “And Just Like That…” have forced viewers to sit through way too many episodes of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan Shaw’s (John Corbett) seemingly flaw-free rekindled romance. We’ve had to sit there as Carrie called Mr. Big (Chris Noth) a “big mistake.” We’ve been expected to believe that Carrie travelled to Virginia, of all places.
But now, it seems a glimmer of a more realistic side to the fictional TV romance is showing itself. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. This week’s episode...

Carrie Bradshaw’s renewed relationship with Aidan Shaw in recent episodes of And Just Like That… has been met with mixed reviews. Sex and the City fans have been sounding off since Carrie jumped right back into a serious romance with the former furniture designer. Some viewers are suggesting Carrie is acting out of character. If you think about it, though, Carrie is behaving as she always has. Carrie Bradshaw is a major relationship backslider. She dated Aidan twice before, and there were several other men she decided to try again with over the years. .

“I strayed on my wife, and it’s devastating to her and not a very pretty picture,” he said. “What it isn’t is a crime…You give yourself the same excuses that many men do; it’s just a little side dance, and it’s fun. Carrie Bradshaw posed an incredibly complicated question in the most recent episode of And Just Like That…., the Max reboot of Sex and the City. Now that her love affair with Aidan Shaw is renewed, she wonders whether Mr. Big was a big mistake all along. The question and the way the storyline played out in the most recent reboot episode has angered some Sex and the City fans. Several have taken to social media to lambast the show for throwing away years of emotional build-up by suggesting Carrie and Mr. Big’s marriage was a big mistake. Carrie’s question got us wondering, though. Had Mr. Big not come along when he did, would Carrie have been happy in her relationship with Aidan in 2001? We went looking for evidence in Sex and the City, and you might be surprised by what we found.

What would Hollywood be without a good ole Blaxploitation film? And now that “They Cloned Tyrone” has hit Netflix screens, conversations about the Blaxploitation movies that crawled so that “They Cloned Tyrone” could pimp walk have come to the forefront.
Juel Taylor’s film welcomes watchers to The Glen, a normal, everyday neighborhood where its predominately Black residents live out their lives shopping, going to church and enjoying the fruits of their labor. Her other great love, Aidan Shaw, is set to return in season 2 of the reboot. Ahead of his return to Carrie’s life, we can’t help but reminisce about how it all began. We’ve collected four episodes fans should watch before Carrie and Aidan rekindle their love.
The Season 3 episode, “No Ifs, Ands or Butts,” features the first look at Aidan Shaw
Aidan Shaw first appeared in the season 3 episode, “No Ifs, Ands or Butts.” In the episode, Carrie and Stanford Blatch head to a furniture store to “ogle” the craftsman. It turns out to be Aidan. Despite Carrie’s initial disinterest in going to the store, she is so taken by Aidan that she buys an expensive chair from him.

And Just Like That… fans are getting closer to reconnecting with Aidan Shaw. John Corbett’s reprisal of his infamous role as Carrie Bradshaw’s other great love, has been the talk of social media for months. Now that the season is officially underway, we are learning more about the character’s involvement. A new trailer proves that the writers are doubling down on a famous notion from Sex and the City; Charlotte York once stated that everyone gets two great loves. Aidan and Mr. Big were Carrie’s. Lily Goldenblatt was born at the tail end of Sex and the City. Charlotte York and Harry Goldenblatt adopted her in the series’ final moments, and the duo traveled to China to bring their baby home sometime after the series wrapped. While Lily is Harry and Charlotte’s child, she played a big role in Carrie and Mr. Big’s relationship. Many fans believe Lily Goldenblatt was responsible for Carrie and Mr. Big’s failed wedding at the New York Public Library because she hid Carrie’s phone in her cupcake bag. While Mr. Big died in the first episode of And Just Like That…, a cupcake-shaped reminder of the failed wedding still hangs in Lily’s closet.

Chris Noth is speaking out.
The actor took to social media over the weekend to shut down reports that he felt excluded by And Just Like That costars in the wake of him being accused of sexual assault by multiple women.
Noth shared a link to a Page Six article that cited insiders saying that he's "not invited to their parties" and doesn't get "greeting cards or happy birthday texts" from costars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis.
"He wonders why Sjp and her troupe continue to leave him out in the cold," the source adds.
"I usually don't respond to this kind of thing," Noth wrote on Instagram.
"And I do know that people like drama and gossip… but this article… is absolute nonsense."

Chris Noth has slammed a report that suggests he was “iced out” by the Sex and the City cast after sexual assault allegations were logged against him.
“I usually don’t respond to this kind of thing,” he wrote on Instagram. “And I do know that people like drama and gossip… but this article by Samantha Ibrahim is absolute nonsense. Just thought you’d like to know.”
The actor, who starred as “Mr. Big” on Sex and the City, was accused by two women of sexual assault in 2021. Noth called the incidents “consensual” in a statement and also said “the accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false.”

Max dropped the first two episodes of And Just Like That… season 2 on June 22. The reboot’s inaugural season was incredibly successful for the streaming service provider but received plenty of criticism from fans. While fans awaited the arrival of season 2, the cast and crew tried to convince fans that they had been heard and season 2 would look and feel a bit more like the original Sex and the City. After watching the first two episodes, we must say that while it isn’t Sex and the City, And Just Like That… season 2 is off to a good start. The team behind the series has seemingly addressed these three major fan complaints.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from the first two episodes of Season 2 of “And Just Like That,” now streaming on Max.
When it came to making the second season of “And Just Like That” — Max’s popular revival of HBO’s iconic “Sex and the City” — showrunner Michael Patrick King found that he simply couldn’t fit what he and the writers had planned into the standard 10-episode season Max was expecting.
After all, “Sex and the City” stars Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) had been joined by four new main characters, played by Nicole Ari Parker (Lisa Todd Wexley), Karen Pittman (Nya), Sara Ramírez (Che Diaz) and Sarita Choudhury (Seema). King knew he wanted to build on those characters, and integrate them more deeply into the story in order to smooth some of the bumpiness of Season 1.

Spoilers ahead! If you haven’t seen the season 2 premiere of “And Just Like That…” on Max, proceed with caution.
And Just Like That, we’re back! Whether you love it or love to hate watch it, Max’s “Sex and the City” spinoff series, “And Just Like That…”, has returned for a second season after the much-discussed first season in 2021.
On Thursday, the streaming service released the first two episodes, and while there was no Big death or traumatic funerals, there were still plenty of gasp-worthy moments — almost entirely centred around Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Ché Diaz’s (Sara Ramirez) relationship.
The show opened with a sexy montage of all of our favourite characters, old and new, getting it on to the soundtrack of Elton John and Britney Spears’ “Hold Me Closer”.

When the “Sex and the City” reboot “And Just Like That …” premiered in December 2021, widespread excitement over the return of Carrie Bradshaw and company quickly soured into weekly rant fodder among loyalists for whom the original series had been nothing short of life-changing.
As someone who’d written a cultural history of “Sex and the City,” I was among them. We’d hoped the show that had revolutionized the portrayal of single, professional, sexually active women would do the same for ambitious, sexually active women over 50. What we got instead was a disorienting mishmash of nostalgic fan service, wokeness and tokenism that seemed to be apologizing for the series’ white privileged roots, and plotlines that made the characters seem like they were well into their 70s rather than their 50s.

Carrie Bradshaw is considered among the first real female anti-heroes in TV history. While Sex and the City fans still root for the famed sex columnist, she also gets a lot of hate. Carrie wasn’t perfect. She wasn’t always poised and often made mistakes and blunders. She could be selfish, chaotic, and completely unsure of herself. Sarah Jessica Parker once revealed that the crew opted to show how messy Carrie could be through her clumsiness. Did you ever notice that Carrie Bradshaw falls a lot?
Carrie and Stanford | Marcel Thomas/FilmMagic Sarah Jessica Parker said Carrie’s stumbles were true to her character
Just how many times did Carrie Bradshaw fall? It’s hard to say. She tripped in her apartment, fell into a pond, stumbled down Manhattan streets, and even fell on a fashion runway once. The iconic character even stumbles in the show’s iconic opening sequence.

Mr. Big didn’t have a name until the final moments of Sex and the City. Fans long imagined that the writers had a name in mind when they were writing the fictional character, but as it turns out, that wasn’t the case. In fact, John James Preston would have remained unnamed if some of the team had their way. If Mr. Big wasn’t known to writers by his real name, how did they deal with moments when the Mr. Big moniker just wouldn’t do? Well, one crew member used a placeholder name for Mr. Big that had Sarah Jessica Parker laughing out loud. In his engagement party invitation, Mr. Big was named Boris.

Sex and the City was one of the most groundbreaking shows of its time. While much about the series hasn’t aged well, it remains a cult classic that amasses new fans with each passing day. While there were many wonderful Sex and the City episodes produced, there are a few that stand out. We’ve collected our favorite episode from each season for your consideration.
The cast of ‘Sex and the City’ | 1999 Paramount Pictures Season 1
Season 1 of Sex and the City focused heavily on Carrie Bradshaw’s sex column. That doesn’t mean the best episode heavily concentrated on Carrie, though. The absolute best episode of the inaugural season centered largely around Samantha Jones.
In episode 9, “The Turtle and the Hare,” the girls deal with the emotional fallout of attending a friend’s wedding. Feeling dejected, Samantha agrees to spend time with Bernie Turtletaub, a man with awful breath.

Sex and the City fans were given a chance to catch back up with Carrie Bradshaw in And Just Like That… The series is heading into its second season. While the reboot shows Carrie’s life as a 53-year-old widow, we want to go back to the beginning and remember where it all began. We’ve spent two decades following her story. It's almost time for Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan's (John Corbett) big reunion, and we're already counting down the days.
HBO Max announced And Just Like That.., its wildly successful Sex and the City follow-up, will return for its second season in June.
Unfortunately, we didn't find out which day in June it will be back, but still, it will be back.
Hooray, right?
The teaser trailer also puts Carrie and Aidan back together, which should make for a fun dynamic.
The jumping-off point for the revival season focused on Carrie's reaction to Mr. Big's death (Chris Noth), and her attempt to rebuild her life.
It's unclear how many episodes John Corbett will be sticking around for, but it's hard to imagine this being a short-term affair.
Corbett initially appeared on Sex and the City Season 3 and stayed with the series until the sixth and final season.

Sarah Jessica Parker has been in many roles throughout her decades-spanning acting career, but none has been as memorable and iconic as that of Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City. In a time before binge-watching and streaming had entered the entertainment picture, HBO’s edgy show about four best friends living in New York captured a generation. What was it about the original series that was so appealing to so many? And how has it been able to remain captivating enough to sustain multiple movies and a reboot?

Sex and the City were about four friends navigating their dating lives, professional lives, and friendships in New York City. However, as much as the series centered on Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis), it also focused on Carrie’s relationship with Mr. Big (Chris Noth).
In fact, fans were never supposed to know Big’s name.
