Actress Anne Hathaway is set to star in an adaptation of "French Children Don't Throw Food".
Based on the autobiography from Pamela Druckerman, the project is being financed by StudioCanal, with Blueprint Picture set to produce, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
The story, described as "Julie and Julia" in tone, follows an American journalist who moves to Paris for her husband's job and raises a family there. As she tries to figure out how to balance her family and career, and battle the feelings that she is failing at both, she observes her French neighbours and friends to uncover the secrets behind parenting well-behaved French children. She discovers that everyone, no matter how perfect they might appear, has their own problems.
Jamie Minoprio and Jonathan Stern wrote the most recent draft of the adaptation.
Hathaway is currently seen in the Joan Didion adaptation "The Last Thing He Wanted from Dee Rees" for Netflix.

The annual ranking of the best unproduced UK film scripts, this year’s list was just revealed this week. Eighty industry insiders were polled on their favorites; films such as Nowhere Boy followed by Jane Eyre were tops was tops in 2008, while 2009's List saw Good Luck Anthony Belcher grab the top spot which has yet to go into production, but films #3 (Now Is Good), #4 (Salmon Fishing In The Yemen) and #6 (Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) are currently in different stages of prod. Top of this year’s poll was Sex Education, written by Jamie Minoprio and Jonathan M Stern, who contributed to the writing of I Want Candy and both St Trinian’s films, which may be a clue to the tone of the film. Said to concern a schoolboy’s plot to take revenge on one of his teachers by seducing his wife, the script is being developed by BBC Films and Ruby Films.

The Brit List of most admired unproduced screenplays began 4 years ago, inspired by the Hollywood version known as the Black List. This year the anonymous UK agent polled 80 industry players, asking them for their favourite screenplays. Due to the increased number of people taking part this year, a script had to receive 3 votes or more to appear on the list. Over 170 screenplays were nominated but only 35 made the final cut. Well-known writers on the list include Ian McEwan, who has adapted his own novel On Chesil Beach for Sam Mendes; John Hodge (Trainspotting), who has written William and Harold for 127 Hours producer Christian Colson; and Paul Andrew Williams (The Cottage), whose Song For Marion, about a widower who joins a choir, represents a change in direction for the writer/director.
